Chapter Thirty-Nine


They sat in the Taree's room, finally dressed and both mortified. The door had been quickly shut by Tar, who'd ran to the door to slam it in their faces. They were about to head out to the reception that was well under way. Making themselves presentable was proving to be a task in itself. Neither felt like moving.

Kagome put on a blue dress with matching heels, while Tar had on a white dress with white flats. They were in the process of working on their hair when Mai came in. She hugged them both and asked about where they had been.

"I'm so glad both of you are okay."

"Well about that," Taree sat down on the bed. "We didn't exactly come back the same."

"What the hell does that mean?" Kagome demanded. "I better not end up growing a dick."

"Pipe down, its like what I told you in the shower. We weren't suppose to come back Kag's. We should have been stuck there, we had no body to speak of. I used the stone to get us back. In doing so our whole cellular structure was changed to be able to pass back through."

"So what are you trying to tell me?"

"Nothing but how we passed through is how we will stay. Your boobs will never get bigger, nor your ass but thats a good thing believe me. You'll never grow old."

"Can I still have kids?"

"Course I said you changed, your body still functions stupid." Taree brushed through her hair, pulling it up on her head. "Okay, I'm ready."

They walked around staying side by side, they hit the food as soon as they spotted it. Kagome filled her plate as well as Taree.

"So can I eat as much ice cream and not get fat."

"Yep, but you can still get zits so be careful."

"Fuck, can't win for losing." Kagome started eating her food. "I feel like I haven't eaten in months. Wait I haven't, this stuff is good."

"Don't talk with food in your mouth. I thought I was bad." Tar threw an olive at her.

"You are, see what happens when I merge with you for two months. I start picking up all your bad manners."

"How were you merged?" Touya sat down at the table next to Taree. He looked over her taking her in. "You look beautiful."

"Really, well I feel like complete crap shit. Try being merged with that thing. Do you know what it's like to hear her cry over nothing but Hiei for two solid months? A constant voice in my soul."

"Hey, I did not and you know it. We were a little too busy for that."

"Okay, maybe so. I feel like falling asleep here at the table." Tar smiled at him, "You don't look too bad either."

Kagome placed her head down on the table, "That's a good idea. A nice nap, I don't think I've gotten use to this body yet."

Tar placed her head down also mocking her friend. "Wow this does feel kind of good but I'm sure we are getting stares out the ying yang."

"Who cares? Let them fight a God for over two months straight, be rearranged biologically, then run for almost two hours and end the day by fighting the conditioner of death. See how well they hold up."

"You got," Yawn. "A point. Not to mention being humilitated by your flashing show."

"You were naked also." Yawn. Kagome closed her eyes and heard the reply.

"Oh yeah I forgot." Tar's eyes followed, she felt a hand on her back. "I didn't do it, it was Kagome." Yawn. She let sleep take her.


Mr. Sinato had them carried to their rooms and put to bed. He wasn't sure what they had been through but it seemed to be taking it's toll on them. They slept the rest of the evening, as the guests left. Mai was going to postpone her honeymoon but he reassured her that the girls were fine. They wouldn't want her to so go ahead. Mai promised to call as soon as they got a chance.

Everyone left and the kids helped him clean up the mess that was left behind. Yusuke fussed about having to leave but Keiko dragged him away. Hiei didn't leave he leapt into the tree, to sleep. As soon as everyone was asleep for the night he was going inside.

Yusuke followed Keiko back to Kurama's. He had planned on staying there until Kurama got back from his honeymoon. Now, he wanted nothing more than to go back to the temple and wait for Taree to wake up.

Taree woke up to a silent house, in the dark no less. She took a deep breath and sighed. She got up and quickly changed into a pair of sweats and tshirt. She sensed Hiei outside somewhere. Her feet padded across the floor, Mai must be gone she decided. She slid the door open and stepped outside into the night. Styles lifted his head real quick and whined. "Stay."

Hiei jumped down at seeing her, "What are you doing up?"

"It's good to see you too. Maybe I should ask you what you are doing sleeping in the tree but I already know don't I." She beamed a smile at him. Seemed Kagome was going to get her man after all.

"Hn. If you are wondering where Yusuke is, he's staying at Kurama's."

"Thanks, don't suppose you can take me real quick since Kagome is still sleeping."

"Fine, get on." He knelt down to let the girl climb on.

A few minutes later he deposited her on the street. She thanked him, "Oh, walk inside and Kagome's door is third on the left."

He leapt off leaving her there, he was going to see if he could get her to wake up.

She walked up to the front door about to knock, she stood there for several minutes. Surely he was asleep already. Maybe she should go in and suprise him. She flipped the mat up, took out the key and unlocked the door. All the lights were out as she made her way up the stairs. The upstairs hallway light was on, she stopped at the top of the stairs. He would be in the spare room most likely. She padded on over and was about to knock.

Her hand stilled over the door when she heard voices. Her ears perked up when she was sure she heard moaning. A loud squeel was heard and then she recognized the voice. The female voice belonged to none other than Keiko. Taree felt her heart drop at hearing the girl beg him to go faster and harder. She turned on her heels and ran back down the stairs and out the front door. She forgot to close it in her hurry, she kept running not sure where she was going.

Several minutes later Yusuke came out the master bedroom and walked over to the other room. Something had woken him up, he stopped to listen then he heard it. He stormed over and started beating on the damn door. "Do you mind, some people are trying to sleep."

"Sorry Yusuke," Keiko called from inside.

Jin yawned and walked out of the living room, "Whats the fuss about?"

Yusuke walked down the stairs and yelled at the wind youkai. "Dammit Jin shut the fuckin door."

"I didn't open it." He lifted his brow, "Smell that?"

"Well if you didn't who did?" He looked around nothing seemed out of place. The upstairs opened and Keiko came down with Touya close behind her.

"What's wrong Yusuke?" She blushed.

"Which one of you left the door open?"

"Neither of us Yusuke, we were in the room. I'm sure you are aware of this since you seemed to like standing by it listening."

Yusuke's eyes widened, "I wasn't standing by your damn door, I could care less what you two do. That was probably Jin."

"Not me. Now that I be thinking bout it smells like the girl."

"You're right it does." Touya stated. "You think she was here?"

"Fuck me. Jin go get her."
