Loving My Enemy

A/N: Amaiya and her father face off one final time about her feelings for Koharu. Will Inuyasha get his way or will Amaiya make him see the light?

The journey back to the Western lands was a silent one. Amaiya held tightly onto Koharu’s hand as they walked side by side. Inuyasha’s demonic blood was nearly at it’s boiling point just from having to watch Amaiya display her feelings for the young wolf demon prince. Kouga and his warriors went east towards his territory. The now much smaller group had finally reached the large white stone palace that was nestled in the heart of the Western lands. Amaiya and Koharu padded inside first to be greeted by an overjoyed Kagome. Kagome pulled her first born into her arms tightly. “Oh Amaiya! Thank Kami you’re safe!”

“Yes mother, I’m okay.” Inuyasha and Sesshomaru strode in momentarily after Koharu and Amaiya.

“Let us have a small celebration for Amaiya’s safe return home.” Kagome nodded and proceeded to go upstairs to freshen up. She had just stepped out of the foyer when shard ard her husbs hus husky voice.

“Amaiya?”

“Yes daddy?”

“We need to talk.” Kagome leaned against the cool stone wall and listened to what was being said. “Sit down Amaiya.” Amaiya sat down on the stone bench beside Koharu. “Listen Amaiya, I know that you think you want to become Koharu’s mate, but I think it’s best if you don’t ever see him again.”

“Daddy why are you doing this?”

“For your own good.”

“That’s lie! You don’t want me to marry Koharu because you and Uncle Sesshomaru don’t like his brother Kouga! Well I love Koharu and I’m going to be with him no matter what!” Amaiya stood up pulling Koharu to his feet with her.

“Where the hell do you think you’re going young lady? I wasn’t done talking to you!”

“Oh this discussion is very over father! I refuse to allow you to bully me into not marrying the man that I love more than anything!” Amiya pulled Koharu upstairs towards her chambers leaving Inuyasha standing in the foyer looking stupid. Kagome padded into the foyer and put her hand on Inuyasha’s shoulder.

“Damn it, why can’t she just listen to me?”

“Because Amaiya is exactly like you Inuyasha.”

“She can’t marry Kouga’s brother! I won’t allow it!”

“Inuyasha Amaiya is grown. You have to let her go now. Koharu loves Amaiya and she loves him. Would you deny your own little girl all the happiness that loves brings with it?” His shoulders slumped at Kagome’s question.

“No Kagome, you know that I can’t deny Amaiya anything. She’s my little girl and I love her with all my heart.”

“Then go fix things with her darling.”

“Okay.” Kagome smiled as she watched her mate climb the stairs towards Amaiya’s room. He knocked on her chamber door. Amaiya opened the door and glared at her father coldly.

“What? Did you come to yell at me ag”

“No Amaiya, I came to apologize for what I said.”

“Promise?”

“I promise. Now can I come in?” She nodded and stepped aside to allow her father to come into her chambers. Koharu was respectful and went outside on the terrace to give them some much needed privacy. Amaiya sat down on the edge of her bed and Inuyasha sat down at her vanity across from the bed. “Listen Amaiya, you know that I love you right?”

“Yeah.”

“Well it’s just hard for me to imagine you getting married and having pups of your own.” Amaiya’s face turned bright red at her father’s mention of her having pups.

“Daddy I really, really love Koharu and he really, really loves me too. Please don’t be angry at me for wanting to be his mate.”

“Oh honey, I could never be angry at you. You’re my little girl.”

“I’m not a little girl anymore daddy, I’m a grown woman.”

“I know that, but you will forever be my little girl no matter how old you get.”

“So does this mean that I have your blessing to marry Koharu?”

“Yeah Amaiya, you have my blessing to marry Koharu.” Amaiya jumped off her bed and threw herself into her father’s arms.

“Oh thank you daddy! I love you!”

“I love you too Amaiya, now go tell Koharu the good news.” She grinned at him broadly and rushed out onto the terrace to tell Koharu of her father’s change of heart.

“Koharu!”

“What is it Amaiya?”

“Daddy gave me his blessing to become your mate!”

“Are you serious?”

“Yes! Isn’t it wonderful?” Koharu picked Amaiya up and twirled her around on the terrace.

“Oh Amaiya, I love you so much!”

“I love you too Koharu!” The young couple shared a passionate kiss. Inuyasha padded into his chambers to find his mate changing into a fresh pale green kimono.

“Did you talk to her Inuyasha?”

“Yes.”

“And?”

“And I told her that I would give her my blessing to marry Koharu.”

“Oh Inuyasha, I’m so proud of you.”

“So what do I get for doing such a good deed?”

“What did you have in mind?” He shot Kagome an impish grin that sent a shiver down her spine.

“Well I was thinking that maybe after dinner I would get to take my beautiful mate to bed.”

“Mmmm I like the way your mind works Inuyasha.”

“So how about it Kagome?”

“Yes of course you can take me to bed after dinner.” Kagome and Inuyasha walked down the stairs arm in arm towards the great dining hall. The servants had prepared an incredible feast for everyone. Sesshomaru led Rin downstairs to the dining hall. He pulled out her chair for her carefully. Koharu did the same for Amaiya and then took a seat next to her. Most of the meal was eaten in silence. Amaiya was just overjoyed to be back home and away from that vile bastard Naraku. She pushed the vile demon from her thoughts and focused on enjoying being with her family whom she loved dearly.
