Safe with Wolves
Meeting the Healer
"Oi, mutt face, wake up." Kouga's voice drifted through Inuyasha's sleep hazed mind. His ear flickered towards the wolf's voice before shifting, wanting to continue to sleep. He felt Shippo move against his chest, wiggling as he tightened his hold.
"Papa," Shippo's voice came next. "Kouga braught some food for us."
Inuyasha's eyes slowly opened as the said food trailed over his nose. He lightened his grip, letting Shippo slip out and sat at the edge of the bed, waiting patiently. Inuyasha sat up and looked over at the entrance. Kouga was standing there with a large animal leg over his shoulder and a rabbit leg in his hand.
Kouga walked over and dropped the smaller leg in Shippo's awaiting paws and than dropped the larger in Inuyasha's lap. "Eat up you two."
Shippo didn't need to be told twice and started to dig in, blood starting to coat around his mouth. Inuyasha watched the younger for a moment before looking down at his own meal. He shifted and went to the edge of the bed, leaning foward and started to eat slowly so he could make sure nothing would get onto the nest of hay and blankets.
"After you're done, I'll be taking you to our healer. The kit can play with the pups." Kouga informed them, causing Inuyasha to pause. He glanced down at Shippo who was still eating, wondering how well he would do with the pups.
"Oi, hurry it up." snapped Kouga. Inuyasha quickly finished his meal and stood with a now full Shippo, making sure to clean the kit's face.
Kouga ushered them out of his den and into a different cave that held a adult male that had brown hair and green eyes and pups that varried in age.
"Oi, Chuibukai, I need you to watch this runt for a bit." Kouga stated as he gestured Inuyasha to put Shippo down.
"I don't need a babysitter." grumbled Shippo as Inuyasha set him down.
"It's for your own safety." Kouga stated before nudging Shippo forward. Shippo huffed before walking inside of the cave and froze when all of the pups' attention were on him.
"Um...hi...?"
"Come over to me." Chuibukai stated in a gentle voice, motioning the kit over. Shippo scampered over and in front of this new wolf.
"Come on, dogbreath." Commanded Kouga as he began to walk away, making Inuyasha glared at his back. None the less, he followed after the leader.
They walked an even longer distance to a lone cave, ignoring the wolves along the way. Well, Inuyasha tried his best, but with him being weakened and being emotionally compromised, no matter how well he tried to hide it, he still felt those disgusted an disproving stares that he had to deal with all his life.
They made it to the cave and walked through a curtain of furs. Inside were mutliple of things, some Inuyasha didn't even know. Sitting on a boulder was a aging woman, her hair slowly turning grey and her eyes were a brown color.
"Lady Iyashino, I've come with a guest." stated Kouga. "He needs you to check his wounds."
"Come lay down on the stone slab and show my your wounds." instructed the aging woman and Inuyasha did what he was told. He felt Iyashino cutting the bandages and inspected the gash. She probed it for a minute before washing the paste off and putting fresh ones on the wound. She nudged him to sit up before putting large leaves onto the treated wound.
"All done, come back tomorrow so I can repeat the proccess." the woman smiled before Kouga nodded and nudged Inuyasha out of the cave.
His ear twitched as he heard words of distaste coming from some of the wolves and all Inuyasha wanted to do is to curl up and hide away from them.
"Kouga!" Ginta called as he ran to the two with Hakkaku. "Oh, hey Inuyasha. We're sorry about your pack."
Inuyasha nodded at the two, shifting.
"I need you two to keep guard over my den when Inuyasha's in there and I'm out, got it?"
"Yes sir!" The two saluted.
Kouga ushered Inuyasha back into his den. "I have some things to take care of. The Kit will be here soon."
He turned around and walked away, leaving Inuyasha to stare after him.
