“Sing him a song, honey.”
After winking at the bassist, Kagome turned to the taiyoukai pretending not to pay much attention to the stage. Tonight, her stomach felt in knots yet light as a feather. Her song meant more than ever before… and more than it should have. She couldn’t help it; she was falling for the cold, sexy demon lord. The beat started and she gathered her courage.
“I’m gonna love you like nobody’s loved you,
Come rain or come shine.
High as a mountain, deep as a river,
Come rain or come shine.”
Maybe it was because no one will ever know her like he did. No one else could understand, relate, or take her as he did. While the song flowed passed her lips she tried smiling, but something intense was taking her over.
“And I guess when you met me
It was just one of those things.
But don’t ever bet me,
‘Cause I’m gonna be true if you let me.”
She caught his eyes.
“Let me.”
Sesshoumaru couldn’t look away at the intensity of her gaze. This… isn’t what was supposed to happen. What was, or what ‘this’ was, confused him, but this felt just… too much.
“You’re always gonna love me like nobody’s loved me,
Come rain or come shine
Happy together, unhappy together…”
This had to be wrong.
“Won’t it be fine?”
The problem was Kagome was just too damn easy to fall for. Her lips tasted too good against his. The way her body moved and responded called to him on a base level. Even her smile felt like home.
And then she did smile and his breath stopped.
After her set Kagome waited for longer than she should have, but Sesshoumaru never met up with her and she walked home alone.
