Two Little Puppies COMPLETED

Chapter 4

Quickly spinning around, Kagome and Harry looked on in horror where Shippo had fallen into the river and was being dragged along by the current.

“Damn it,” Harry swore as he didn’t listen to his mate’s yells to stay put as he removed his top layer of heavy clothes and dived into the water to save the young kitsune kit.

“Shippo,” Harry yelled once he was in the water and swimming towards the kit, “Try and grab onto my arm.”

Shippo tried and failed the first couple of times to grab onto Harry’s arm but after a few attempts he finally managed to get to Harry.

“Hold on tight kit,” Harry said as he used his demon strength to move against the river's current, “I think there’s more to this river then meets the eye.”

Using all of his demon strength and trying to ignore what felt like hundreds of little scratches ripping his clothes and skin Harry managed to make it back to the edge of the river where the others pulled them out of the water.

“Never do that again,” Inuyasha cried out as he pulled Harry into a hug and started to check him over for any injures, “Did you know just how scared I was?”

“Sorry,” Harry said as he coughed up some water from the river, “I guess it’s just my saving people thing playing up again.”

“But Kagome-Okaasan I didn’t fall into the river,” Shippo’s voice broke through the two mate’s conversation; “Something like a handmade of water grabbed my leg and dragged me into the water!”

“Shit,” Kagome swore as she realised just what her miko sense had been telling her all along, “My miko powers had been poking me in the back of my head while I was talking to Harry-Kun, I should have known that there wasn’t something right about this river.”

“Don’t worry,” Sango said as she placed a hand on Kagome’s shoulder, “Now that we know you can purify the river and kill the water demon.”

“You're right,” Kagome said with a nod of her head as she got out the purifying equipment that Kaede had given her on their last visit to her village.

Just as Kagome was about to begin purifying the river she found herself being pushed to one side as Harry took an attack from the newly revealed water demon which was standing in the water in front of them. It looked like a dog with fins, easily three times the size of Kiara. Just as it was about to launch an attack at them, an angry half youkai slammed straight into its gut.

"Harry!" Miroku yelled. The three humans grabbed their weapons in order to help the newest member of their group, but were stopped by the outstretched arm of Inuyasha.

"Inuyasha, what the hell are you doing?! That's your mate out there!" Sango yelled as everyone watched Harry slash at the face of the water demon, causing it to yowl in pain. "Why are you just making us stand around for?!"

"Two reasons. One, is I want to see how well Harry can fight and if there is any real danger, I'll step in. Plus, this is a good way for me to see where to start training him in his powers."

As they watched Harry deliver a barrage of kicks lightning fast to the dazed demon, Kagome asked, "What's the second reason?"

To their surprise, Inuyasha snorted, "Have you seen Harry-love's eyes? When they're like that I'd rather go make out with Naraku than get in Harry-love's way."

Curious as to what he was talking about, the humans and kit tried to see Harry's eyes. They finally got a good look as Harry wrapped his arms around the water demon's neck, starting to rip it off. Everyone shuddered at the look of blazing emeralds.

"That's kind of creepy; I hope those eyes are never aimed at me." The monk said, the miko and demon slayer nodding at his words.

A giant 'Splash' drew their attention back to where the dark haired inu was. Harry was slowly walking back towards shore; the body of the water demon (or what was left of it) was melting into the river.

Just as Harry made it back to dry land, he collapsed into Inuyasha's arms, out cold.
