Reunited Worlds

Chapter Four:

Inutaisha smelled the air and knew her sister had come back. She watched as finally her sister appeared and looked at her. "You didn't wait did you?"

"No Sessha. I have been up for a while so I have been doing a multitude of things." She replied as she stoked the fire and warmed herself by it.

Sessha smiled as she sat beside the fire. "Do you think mother would be proud of us?"

"I'm sure. Mother would have wanted us to get along Sessha. So how are your two
wards?"

"You know Jaka and Rai. Their annoying as usual." She replied with a short laugh.

Inutaisha smiled. She loved getting along with her sister. Though years ago, they had been fighting like cats and dogs, it was good to finally get along with her. "Would you like some breakfast?"

"Sounds good. I'm sure the others are getting up now."

"They should be. Where are your little ones?"

"With Kagoru. They have been sleeping with him for a while now." Inutaisha replied, she smiled at the thought of her children.

"Have you thought of the possibility that Naraku and Naraka could come back?"

"Shh...I don't want to bring it up yet."

Sessha rolled her eyes at her, "You know I do not know what you are thinking but you must see reason. We have to take precautions."

"This coming from you Sessha?" Inutaisha asked jokingly.

"Sister, i'm being serious."

Inutaisha was silent for a few minutes. "I know. I am too."

"It is dangerous to not consider it. I have had this feeling for a while now." Sessha told her sister as she looked into the fire.

The two fell silent for a while before Inutaisha said, "We need to make sure. But how?"

Sessha shrugged. "I am unsure of that myself. Whatever we do, we have to do it quick. There is no telling if they are truly back, but they could be. Otherwise we would not be feeling so uneasy." She paused, "Kimi is here too. I noticed her when I was checking on my wards."

Inutaisha narrowed her eyes in anger. "The last thing we need."

"Calm yourself. You do not need to worry about her unless she tries to interfere." Sessha told her.

"Easy for you to say." Inutaisha said with a huff.

"Get over it. You are a mother now and I am sure the twins would not want to see their mother fighting over the past."

Inutaisha sighed, "Yes mother." She said sarcastically.

Sessha flashed an annoyed smile. "Don't go there sister."

"Very well. Let's wake up everyone. I am sure they are hungry by now."

After everyone had ate breakfast, Inutaisha went off with Inuyasha. She wondered if Inuyasha had sensed the evil that she and Sessha were sensing. She had to know if he was. "Inuyasha, something has been troubling me lately."

"I've sensed it, don't worry Inutaisha, you are not the only one."

"Then you know that Naraku and Naraka could be back." She responded.

"Yes. I am concerned that Kagome and Mirra could be harmed if we aren't careful." Inuaysha told her.

"I know, therefore I think we need to keep watch. We can take turns."

Inuyasha nodded. "I think that is best. Inutaisha, if they are back..."

"They'll come for me first. Don't worry. I've given thought to what I am going to do. I won't allow them to hurt anyone." Inutaisha interrupted.

Inuyasha nodded. "I think it is best that we return.

Later that night while Inuyasha took the first shift, Inutaisha dreamt of her mother and father again. A full moon shone overhead as Inutaisha stood at the end of the bridge she was on. Rushing water was beneath her as it emptied into a pool of water below. At the other end of the bridge was her mother and father. "What now?"

"I am afraid we come back to bear terrible news Inutaisha. They are back, though they are not as strong as they used to be." Her mother told her.

"No...you can't be serious. After all I have done to protect my family!" She felt angry that now everything might be for nothing. She had to stop them if it meant transforming again to that giant demon beast she had been before.

"Calm yourself. If you plan and do so in a wise manner you will be able to defeat them again." Her father commented as she looked at him.

"How can I be calm! Shizuka and Ichiro and Kagoru are in danger now!"

"Inutaisha, you have to be calm. The children won't be helped if you are running about foolishly." Her mother said as she looked at Inutaisha sternly.

Inutaisha sighed, "Yes mother."

"You need to focus on defeating them again. I have a feeling they won't stay in hiding forever."

"Very well. I will tell everyone. I have to anyway. This only confirms what Sessha and I have been feeling all along."

"Take special care. You have two females who are about to give birth. You have to slay them before the children are born."

Inutaisha nodded. "Yes mother. I know. I love both very much."

They smiled at her. "We love you too Inutaisha."

Inutaisha was woken up by Inuyasha who was yawning. "Your turn."

"Thanks. I need to tell everyone something in the morning. Get some sleep though." She whispered.

Inuyasha nodded then joined Kagome over in the corner. Inutaisha watched the sky beginning to turn a pale purple as night disappeared. What would she do now that their enemies were back? Whatever she did, she had to do it quickly. She had to keep everyone safe. Especially Kagoru and her children.

A/N: Ahhh!!!!!! I've been gone for so long. I'm going back to school for my masters so it is difficult to update and stuff. My brain is trying to get back into the rhythm of writing fanfictions. Anyway, please review and I will try to update again before January 9th. (I go back for Winter quarter. Can we say yay?)
