Anaminé sat on a window seat of her bed room in her parent’s house. It had been three days since her parents had died. The calling she had many lords and noble men and other great generals coming to her telling her how sorry they where for her loss and that her father was a great man and his story would live on even though he was gone. The Funeral had gone just as smoothly she had all her friends there though it didn’t seem to help she found herself pushing everyone away from her all she wanted was everyone to stop saying how Sorry they where didn’t they know saying sorry wasn’t going to help, it wasn’t going to bring them back. The Great Elder had performed the funeral ceremony. Once she had greeted all the guest that had arrived at the wake she quickly escaped to the haven of her room where everything was still the same. She held onto a very old stuff bunny to her stomach it had stains, stitches, and patches that told stories of its life. Down stairs she could hear people talking about her father and mother as she stared out her window over her back yard. She was also well aware of her friend’s worried whispers about her.
Inu Yasha, Kagome, Kikyo, Kouga, Hiten, Bankotsu, Jakotsu, Suikotsu, Hojo, Sango, and Miroku Stood crowded together holding small plastic cups. Suikotsu looked to the stairs and sighed.
“Hiding like this isn’t going to help her, I don’t think I’ve seen here touch any type of food all day.” Suikotsu said
“She eats but she doesn’t really talk to anyone anymore she just mainly shuts herself up in a room or sits alone in the garden.” Inu Yasha said
“Is she still training since she hasn’t been at school she hasn’t been at Kenjutsu practice Sesshomaru says she will be back to school on Monday but even when we didn’t have practice she always rushed home to train with her father.” Bankotsu said
“I have seen her looking at our swords every once and a while but I haven’t seen her pick one up” Inu Yasha said
“I feel so bad for her I couldn’t imagine losing both my parents, I was little when my father died so I don’t remember it to much but if I lost my mom I don’t know what I would do” Kagome said
Sango nodded in agreement to Kagome.
“I never knew my mother but I remember when my father died I felt like I had lost a part of myself I hated the world.” Miroku said
“Bankotsu was a baby when our mother died and still young when our father abandoned us but her use to look for him and call for him.” Jakotsu said.
Suikotsu nodded “I remember that we use to have to tell him that father was on vacation or something like that”
“Okay enough about our own stories we need to figure out how to help Anaminé” Kouga said
“How can we when she doesn’t let anyone near her?” Hiten asked
“Maybe that’s the key to helping her” Hojo said
Everyone looked at him and raised a eye brow
“Think about it she is pushing people away because they keep crowding her and won’t leave her alone. Maybe she just needs some time to grieve alone instead of having people crowd her” Hojo said
Everyone thought about it for a second “It kind of makes sense” Kouga said
Everyone nodded
“So we will just hang around like we use to and if we so some where ask if she wants to come and if she doesn’t we leave it at that” Hiten said
Everyone nodded.
Anaminé was still sitting on her window seat holding her stuffed rabbit. Her door slowly opened and a man walked into her room. She just continued to stare out her window as a tear ran down her cheek.
“Please Sesshomaru don’t be a smart ass today I’m not in the mood.” Anaminé spoke softly her voice almost void of all emotion.
Sesshomaru put his hands in his pockets and stood in the room with Anaminé and his eyes became locked on the rabbit in her arms and then looked around her room it was void of any other stuffed animals.
“I have not come here to start an argument I was sent by my father to tell you the Great Elder would like to speak with you and want me to escort you down to your fathers den, but I won’t untill your ready. I would like to ask you a question though” Sesshomaru said
Anaminé found Sesshomaru’s statements odd he sounded to caring, she just simply nodded.
“Why do you still have that rabbit?” Sesshomaru asked
“You wouldn’t understand if I told you” Anaminé said softly
Sesshomaru’s memory began to wind up.

It was 13 years ago Sesshomaru was informed that the old family friend Takeshi Sano and his wife where coming over with their first and only child a little girl. Due to some business that needed to be taken care off Sesshomaru had been gone for the past 4 years so he had not met the girl yet, and had just been introduced to his new half brother. When their friends finally arrived there was a small girl with long silver hair that had attached herself to her fathers leg and was doing the best she could to hide behind her father, her blue eyes popped against her silver hair it had never been seen in a dog demon of their pack it was truly rare. Takeshi looked down at his daughter and smiled she was really shy and never strayed from her father or mother which wasn’t abnormal for a pup like her. Takeshi put his hand on the back of Anaminé’s head and pushed her gently.
“Anaminé say hello to Lord Taisho’s oldest son Prince Sesshoamru.” Takeshi spoke softly to his daughter
The little girl took a few steps away from her father and then looked back at him and he nodded. She then turned and faced Sesshomaru and bowed some.
“Hewo pwinc Sesshomawu” the little girl spoke softly
Sesshomaru gave a slight bow back “hello Anaminé” Sesshomaru spoke softly trying not to scare the girl than what she was already he didn’t want to make her cry.
Inu Taisho cleared his throat “Sesshomaru I believe you have a gift for our guest.”
Sesshomaru nodded and held out a stuffed light brown rabbit and gave it to the girl. Her eyes grew big and she looked back to her father who nodded and then she turned back to the rabbit grabbing it hugging it and then ran to Sesshomaru’s leg and hugged it to “tank you pwinc sesshomarwu”
Sesshomaru was taken back by this action and didn’t know what to do.
Takeshi cleared his throat and Anaminé hurried back behind her father now holding the rabbit in one arm and the father leg in her free arm.
Anaminé carried that rabbit around with her everywhere untill she was around the age of 8.

Sesshomaru moved to her bed and sat down he looked to Anaminé who had turned her attention from her window to him. He could see the sparkle that used to thrive in her eyes had disappeared.
“This isn’t like you Sesshomaru, why are you acting so kind and concerned now.” Anaminé spoke softly void of emotion.
“Because Anaminé I might be cold and harsh towards people but I do care for those in my pack and that includes you, and I can sympathize to an extent. I lost my mother when I was young like you I was very close to her like you where with your father. I hurt for so long that I became numb and cold towards everyone it became a defense mechanism.” Sesshomaru said
“I’m sorry Sesshomaru but I have to call bull on some of what you said.” Anaminé said looking back out her window.

“Ever since I have been a teenager you have done nothing but push me away and I am the only one other than your father and little sister and step mother try to reach out to you I defend you to my own friends, and all I have ever gotten from you is a cold shoulder and harsh words.” Anaminé said hugging her rabbit tighter.
“You might care about your pack but I don’t think you truly care about me, I know what other lords and demons say about me, I might not have all the senses a dog demon should but my hearing is just as sharp as yours. I have grown up trying to prove to everyone that I am just as strong and smart as the next demon. Even to my own parents just so they wouldn’t feel ashamed of having such a weak daughter. All I have ever wanted was to make them proud…..” Anaminé continued as tears began to fall down her cheeks
“I promised my father I would be as great a swords master as he was and make caption of the Kenjutsu team and all I made was co captain I feel as if I let them down.” Anaminé continued hugging her rabbit close squeezing her eyes shut as tears cascaded down her cheeks.
Sesshomaru couldn’t happen but in the privacy of Anaminé’s room he did something extremely out of character. He stood up glided over to Anaminé grabbed her and pulled her to him sitting on the floor and held her close to him and rested his cheek onto of her head. Anaminé’s eyes widened at this but it wasn’t long befor she dropped her rabbit and clung to Sesshomaru’s cloths and sobbed.
“Anaminé I know for a fact your father was nothing but proud of you, you where his world, and he wouldn’t want to see you suffering like this” Sesshomaru cooed.
Anaminé nuzzled herself against Sesshomaru with his words she began to calm down some. He stroked her long hair and took in her scent it was always a scent that caught him of guard for it was the smell of moon lilies with the crisp scent of newly fallen snow. He always found this odd due to moon lilies only blooming in spring and summer. Sesshomaru was very content holding her in his arms it felt almost like she was made to be in his arms. He quickly shook that notion out of his head for the two of them could never be together in that way due to him being arranged to be mated to the daughter of the southern lord. Sesshomaru smirked to himself but for right now this would do.
“Can I stay here tonight please Sesshomaru; I would like to sleep in my house one last time befor I move into your apartment.” Anaminé’s muffled voice reached his ears.
“Yes for tonight we can stay here” Sesshomaru said
“I hate to say this but we should probably go down befor we angry the great elder.” Sesshomaru whispered.
Anaminé nodded and sat him looking away from Sesshomaru whipping her eyes. She then got up and went over to her small vanity and fixed her make up slightly. Sesshomaru picked up her rabbit and gently placed it on her bed then they both headed down stairs.
They traveled threw the sea of people and made their way to her fathers den. She walked in and knelt down and bowed befor the great elder as Sesshomaru closed the doors. The great elder was as tall as Sesshomaru with long hair that dragged the ground he was the only dog demon Anaminé had ever seen who had wrinkles and his eyes where a pale blue to reveal he was blind….well blind to normal vision. He saw what other could not. He bore the crescent moon on his for head and red slashes on his cheeks like Sesshomaru. He wore his traditional garbs.
“Hello great elder please forgive me for keeping waiting, but I was not suitable for meeting you.” Anaminé spoke softly as she bowed keeping her forehead connected to the floor.
“My child it is alright I understand you are grieving for the loss of your cherished parents, please rise up.” The great elder said
Anaminé sat up looking at the great elder.
“Great elder what is it you wished to talk to me about?” Anaminé asked softly
“My child I wanted make sure that you understood what will happen to you parent’s estate, and what comes with your parents deaths.” The great elder said
Anaminé nodded to him and listened.
“Everything will be transferred to you name due to us having to store things such as money and buy houses like the humans do. So you will have no need for money you will have access to it as you please but please use it wisely for once it is gone it is gone, the house will also be put in your name but we do not want you getting in trouble with the human law for not being 18 or over and living by yourself, and due to that fact is why you will be temporarily living with Sesshomaru.” The great elder said
“I understand great elder” Anaminé said
“With your parents passing their legacy will live on with you, your father the greatest sword master our army has ever seen he protected many of our kind and our lands for many years, and your mother was a very nurturing and caring woman she healed and took care of many wounded solders for many years as well but with them coming together in marriage they where greatly feared your father the strength and your mother the healer if he was wounded she had the power to heal him. When you where a baby their where many attempts by our enemies in the south to kidnap you to get the dog demons to summit to them everyone who tried lost their life, but now that they are dead that leaves you vulnerable….” The great elder explained
“Great elder please forgive me for interrupting but why would I be vulnerable now we have treaties with everyone but the south including the wolf demons who own the central trading routes, but we are about to sign a treaty with the south anyway correct” Anaminé said looking at the great elder then to Sesshomaru and then Inu Taisho. She knew of the treaty but new nothing of the specifics.
“Yes child but the south has only agreed to this treaty because their numbers are increasing incredibly so by signing a treaty with us they can gain help from us, but demons outside the western lands do not know what powers you posses or do not posses, they just assume that since you are the daughter of your father and mother you will posses great amounts of power and if they can get their hands on you and see an opening to we believe that they will try and take you and use you against us and drop the treaty. This is one of the reasons why Sesshomaru was chosen to be your care giver if anything happened to your parents. So we would know you where safe.” The great elder explained further.
“I understand….so they don’t know my weakness and wish to use me as a weapon against my own kind.” Anaminé whispered and looked down at the floor.
Anaminé clutched the fabric that draped over her legs from her dress and looked up at the elder with her piercing blue eyes.
“I swear great elder if I am ever captured I will never be used as a weapon I will find a way to either get away or resist them even if it means giving up my own life.” Anaminé said
“Lets pray to the gods it dose not happen that way my dear child. But be forewarned rough times lay ahead for you, but be strong and keep you head held high.” The Great Elder said

“You two may go me and Lord Inu Taisho have some things to discuss befor I leave.” The great elder said

The great elder turned to Inu Taisho “those two are entwined together they are destined for each other I can see it the silk rope of destiny that connects them is very strong and very clear.”

“Lord Inu Taisho if her parent snot have died befor the treaty was sighed it would of caused a problem but we know what they have attempted and I see the treaty surrounded by a darkness which leads me to believe that they will try something befor it is signed or they will break it after it is signed and when they do we will be ready to fight and im sure that is when she will emerge.” The great elder said

Anaminé clutched the fabric that draped over her legs from her dress and looked up at the elder with her piercing blue eyes.
“I swear great elder if I am ever captured I will never be used as a weapon I will find a way to either get away or resist them even if it means giving up my own life.” Anaminé said
“Lets pray to the gods it dose not happen that way my dear child. But be forewarned rough times lay ahead for you, but be strong and keep you head held high.” The Great Elder said
Anaminé nodded.
“You two may go me and Lord Inu Taisho have some things to discuss befor I leave.” The great elder said
Anaminé bowed again befor getting up “Thank you great elder for everything today.”
He nodded and Sesshomaru and Anaminé left.
The great elder turned to Inu Taisho “those two are entwined together they are destined for each other I can see it the silk rope of destiny that connects them is very strong and very clear.”
“But won’t that get into the way of the treat great elder.” Inu Taisho said
“Lord Inu Taisho if her parent snot have died befor the treaty was sighed it would of caused a problem but we know what they have attempted and I see the treaty surrounded by a darkness which leads me to believe that they will try something befor it is signed or they will break it after it is signed and when they do we will be ready to fight and im sure that is when she will emerge.” The great elder said
“just now when Anaminé sat in front of me I saw her the maiden sitting behind Anaminé with her arms wrapped protectively around the sweet girl, but the golden rope which seals off her power was still snaked around her which shows she is trying to break free but is unable to due so yet but untill then she is still protecting our sweet Anaminé. We can not allow harm to come to her Inu Taisho.” The great elder continued.
Inu Taisho nodded “Yes great elder.”
