"Jeez, where are they anyways?" wondered Lina, looking left and right as she threaded her way through the forest.
"Inuyasha! Zel! Where are you?" yelled Kagome, also making her way through the forest.
It was morning now, and with no signs of the two returning, the group had become worried, so it was decided that they should split up and comb the surrounding forest to look for them.
"I can smell both of them nearby. I just can't pinpoint the scent exactly. It smells...strange in a way..." said Shippou, his nose working along the ground.
"Maybe they are sound asleep?" wondered Amelia.
"I don't know about Zel, but if your Inuyasha sleeps anything like me and Gourry, all this yelling is going to be a big waste of time..." commented Lina dryly, drawing a little scowl out of Gourry before he let out a loud yawn.
"Well, I guess it can't be helped then. Sorry Inuyasha...SIT BOY!!!" yelled Kagome as loud as she could into the forest. There came the sound of a loud crash, following by a startled outcry of pain and anger.
"Over there!" pointed Miroku with his staff, torwards a section of forest that the birds were quickly vacating.
The group made their way through the forest before emerging into the clearing where both Zel and Inuyasha were laying in a clump together, their clothes scattered about and around the clearing, the two arm in arm, and looking up at them with something between suprise and shock.
"Oh...uh...hey guys...heh heh..." stammered Zel, his normally placid and neutral blue face rapidly turning a pink shade of red.
"Zel what are you..." stopped Lina when she saw the sight before her, her eyes and mouth going wide.
"About time Inuyasha, what were you..." Kagome also stopped as her eyes saw the scene before her, her eyes and mouth going wide as well.
"Uhh...Kagome...this isn't what you think it is...." Inuyasha, like Zel, stammered, his face already beet red.
Neither of the two girls could say anything as their minds went into overdrive mode.
Kagome was the first to go, falling backwards in a faint, Sango catching her from behind, preventing her from hitting the ground. Lina was right behind her though, and fell into the arms of Gourry.
Kirara, sensing what had gone on here, jumped in front of Shippou and Amelia, shielding their eyes from the scene before them, although they had already gotten a good glimpse.
Miroku's eye was twitching, and he reached a hand out to grab Sango's posterior, wanting to make sure he wasn't dreaming. A quick slap to the face confirmed that he wasn't, and the monk tried to gather his thoughts.
"Gourry, Sango, get Kagome and Lina out of here and back to the village. Kirara, likewise take Shippou and Amelia out of here. Get moving, now!" yelled Miroku, barely holding onto his temper.
They complied, leaving him and Sylfial alone with Inuyasha and Zel.
"Sylfial, you'd better leave too, you may try to explain to Shippou and Amelia what they saw. But don't tell them the truth, just make up something." said Miroku, nodding his head to the priestess. She nodded her head once to affirm, and hurried to join the others.
"And as for you two...into the hot springs, NOW! Clean yourselves up!" yelled Miroku, finally losing what little patience he had.
The two of them, seeing the mood the monk was in, decided to obey his orders, and hurried into the hot springs.
A short time later, they had finished washing, and having redressed, seemed back to their normal selves.
"Now...mind telling me what exactly is going on?" asked Miroku, his eye twitching a little bit again.
"I...I don't know what happened exactly...we were talking about how it was being half demons and all that, and one thing I guess led to another, and then...." stammered Inuyasha, before coming to a halt.
"I can assure you one thing. That won't be happening again." stated Zel, looking at Inuyasha with something akin to contempt.
"It had better not, for your sake. I don't know what your relationship is with Lina, Zel, but Kagome is very close to Inuyasha. Kami only knows how she'll react to this situation." replied Miroku.
"Go ahead and come back to the village. I'll try and explain what happened to the others as best I can, but I think we should all be present when Lina and Kagome come to." said Miroku, heading off torwards the village.
Not liking the odds of their survival in the confrontation surely soon to come, Inuyasha and Zel had little choice but to follow him, their futures very uncertain indeed...
