Chapter 4: Father Forgive Me

Sesshomaru and Kagome stood in each others arms for a few more moments before Sesshomaru pulled away and bid Kagome come with him to see Inutaisho. Kagome looked down at the ground and stood unmoving. Sesshomaru grabbed her hand and pulled lightly.

"You are the only one who can heal him Kagome. The west has suffered as has he since Inuyasha's death. He needs you we all do."

Kagome looked up and nodded though she said nothing. Sesshomaru wrapped his arms around her and shot off in his energy form to Taisho Manor. Kagome followed him through the fam,iliar halls and KIagome thought about how little everything had changed. Entering Inutaisho's study she was taken back by the sad, drawn, pain expression that seemed etched into every pore of Inutaisho's face. She walked foward her face holding a small smile though it was a sad one.

"I'm so sorry daughter...all those years ago I accused you of something that I know you would never do. Will you ever forgive me for the pain my words caused you?"

Kagome slid her hand under his chin and made her look at her.

"Of course I will father you are my loved father and I couldnever stay mad at you."

She put her hand to her side and concentrated on pulling forth the Shikon Jewel. It glowed brightly within her hand and she smiled sadly. Inutaisho looked at her with obvious dislike for her chioce.

"I would never be able to forgive myself if I let you suffer and if I didn't return him to the place where he belongs. I'm sorry to say that I could have brought him back that night. The Shikon burned white hot within me with the hunger to be used and I knew why after I saw the news. I was going to return him to you but you told me to leave and as punishment I didn't return him to you. I am sorry for waiting so long father I hope you can forgive me for that but I return him to you now. He will have all the knowledge necessary to pick up in his third year of college like Sesshou."

Kagome had tears rolling down her cheeks and as she sank into a lotus position on the floor the jewel began to glow brightly.

"Bring back the one who should never have died and give him what he will need to continue his life as if he had not died. As payment I your humble gaurdian and servant offer you my soul upon my death so that I might be reborn and in return always your gaurdian and unable to be reunited with those I love and lost so long ago. PLease take my sacrifice and do as I ask."

Inutaisho's eyes widened upon hearing Kagome's payment and tears again began to leak from his eyes. An other worldly voice filled the study as a astrological form of Midoriko knelt before Kagome and lifted her tear streaked face so that Kagome was looking her in the eyes.

"You would really give up your hearts one true wish to bring him back Kagome?"

"It is my penence for all that I have caused pain...so yes I would."

"Yes, you would I know that but you know as well as I that you could have offered time in which he was dead as payment and that would have been enough. So why do you offer what you do?"

"Penence Midoriko you can see all thats in my heart so you know what I tell you is the truth."

"We the Shikon Jewel reject your offering and will only take that which is necessary to do as you wish."

"Why, would you deny me?"

"Because Kagome as you said we can see your heart and as such know that for you to offer what you did and have us accept it would kill you and damage your soul; far beyond anything that would able to be reborn."

Midoriko kissed Kagome's brow and faded along with the light from the Shikon. Then and explosion of light erupted from it and when it died down Inuyasha stood before them and the shikon was once again inside Kagome. Kagome was on her feet and hugging Inuyasha tightly as she whispered how sorry she was. Inuyasha hugged her back tightly and smiled or saying how happy he was to be back. Kagome backed away from him after a few more seconds and smiled. Inutaisho whirled him around and crushed him into a bone crushing hug Sesshomaru simply gave him a light hug and whispered that he had missed him in his ear. He turned again locked eyes with Kagome, she smiled and left the house. She had known using the Shikon would alert Laviatan to her return but she didn't think he would come for her so soon. She met him out on the front lawn.

"So you finally returned to me have you and you used the Shikon. Your ready to come with me are you?"

"Yes, I'm ready."

Kagome walked toward him and then before he knew what happened she slammed her fist into his face with explosive force. He was sent flying back almost into the neighbors house which was at least 150 yards from where she stood. Kagome dropped her concealment and let her full power com to the surface. It took the form of a glowing column of light that cut through the clouds and created winds that could up root trees and derstroy everything within 200 hundred miles of Kagome on a whim if she commanded it to do so. Sesshomaru, Inuyasha, and Inutaisho were standing at the door and were deyond floored by her power. They blinked and she was beside Laviatan. He looked up at her with hatred athat was crippling. she watched him stand and again moved before he saw her. She spin kicked him in the back and sent him flying toward Sesshomaru and the others then out of nowhere she was before them and he connected with her fist. Kagome caught him for he could go flying and turned so that he was facing Inuyasha.

"This is my brother and you killed him. I warned you to leave my family alone and because you didn't heed me you wil die. I want a challenge when I kill you so you have six months to get the energy and strength you'll need to at least make me sweat. You can even steal the energy from others for all I care because the more people you hurt the more I want to kill you. Be gone from my sight before I change my mind and don't bother coming after my family because you will not be able to touch them without my knowing and being there to kick your ass. NOW LEAVE."

Kagome threw him up into the air then jumped up and spin kicked him hard. He was sent flying and disappeared from view due to the sheer force of her kick and the power she had charged into the attack. Sucking her energy back in like a vacuum Kagome looked over at the others who had appeared. Them being Lorban of the East, Fin of the North, and Heroku of the South, and Keade, Rika, and Kina the Lead Miko’s/Priestesses. KEade, Rika,and Kina smiled at her though awed by her power.

"So you've finally returned Kagome. Good it's been hell without you. Welcome back."

Kina smiled at the end of her statement and the others smiled. Kagome smiled as well then turned to the other Lords of the Land. Lorban and Fin were smiling, but Heroku was glaring at her.

"You hid in fear and now that you've returned you expect some kind of warm greeting the others may be willing to ignore your cowardice, but I will not."

"She didn't hide from anything she left because I sent her away in a moment of grief after losing Inuyasha. But, as you can see my daughter has returned to me and she in turn has returned my son."

Inuyasha stepped forward and before the others could react he punched Heroku in the face with enough force to break his nose and snap his force head back.He glared at him in anger and disgust.

"You will speak of Kagome with respect or not at all. She has protected me all my life and is my sister and even though she is stronger then me I will protect her now."

"She has protected me all my life as well and now I step up to protect her as well. Kagome here and now before father and the other lords and well as the leading priestesses I ask you to allow this Sesshomaru to court you with the intent of making you my mate."

He had turned to Kagome and taken her hand in his. Kagome smiled the brightest smile they had ever seen from her and jumped into Sesshomaru's arms smiling.

"I'll take that as a yes."

"Of course idiot."
