Every little morsel she ate was like a touch of heaven in her mouth. Boy, those cooks definitely knew what they were doing.

“So tell me Kags,” her eyes opened as she finished her last bite, “what exactly did you pack to have my limo driver complain so?”

Kagome’s eyes grew wide.

“It’s not that heavy! I took it downstairs all by myself!”

He laughed.

“Kags, number one, it’s on wheels. Number two he only made a joke about it because I told him to be careful. Knowing you, you would pack the kitchen sink if it were possible.”

She threw her napkin at him and began to laugh herself.

“I would not.”

“You would if given the chance. Really, what did you bring?”

Her cheeks flushed.

“Well, I guess a little bit of everything. A family photo, a couple of manga, a romance novel, my favorite pillow, my cd player and had some cd’s, and my writing materials.”

He smirked at her while she listed off everything as he took a drink of his wine.

“No clothing then? My, my Kagome, is that a little bit of wishful thinking on your part?”

If she could turn into a beet, she was getting close to it.

“Damn it Sess, of course I packed clothes. You are such a twerp!”

Sesshoumaru laughed again and got up from his chair to go over to her side. In true Kagome style, she pursed her lips into a pout and turned her head.

“Oh sweetheart, please don’t make that face.”

He took her hand, pulling at her, trying to make her get up and stand.

“Come on, I’ve got something for you back inside.”

“I just bet you do.”

“Kags, it’s not like that.”

It was Kagome’s turn to laugh.

“Alright.”

Sesshoumaru led her to what could be called a living room. It had a giant 64 inch screen LCD tv, a fireplace, recliner, love seat, couch, and a beautiful cherry wood coffee table. As he did so, two of the maids snuck past them to clean up outside. The better surprise would be out here.

Sesshoumaru watched them form the corner of his eye, making sure that Kagome didn’t see them. They were very quick and efficient.

“So, what do you think of this place?”

“It’s great. Not something I’m used to, but it could be comfy, with a woman’s touch of course.”

She turned around and tried to pin him with her glare, a small finger pressing into his chest.

“I thought you said you were going to bring me in here to show me something.” She tilted her head. “What are you planning Sesshoumaru? I can tell when you are being devious. What’s up?”

A soft heat rose to his cheeks before he could stop it.

“Nothing Kaggy, I think you’re becoming paranoid, what with all that blood and gore you write about. How’s the novel coming by the way?”

Kagome shoved him so hard, it made him slump over the arm of the couch.

“Now I know something is going on. You’re trying to change the subject way too fast, you’re trying to dance around the room, and you just called me Kaggy again. Just what the hell are you planning? You are most definitely up to something mister. What gives?”

The raven haired woman stood before him with her hands on her hips trying to intimidate the man before her by towering over him.

Sesshoumaru couldn’t help but laugh at the sight before him. This woman truly was amazing and knew him in every way. His laughter merely fueled her fire.

“Dammit, Sess, what is going on?”

She tapped her foot on the plush carpet as she waited for him to catch his breath. He turned and patted the seat next to him, getting into a more comfortable sitting position.

“Kag-gy, Kags, if I were planning something devious, I wouldn’t torture you so.”

She managed to crack a smile and sat down next to him.

“I know, but you’re acting weird and suspicious to me.”

They were the best of friends. The closest two people could ever be without becoming lovers. Now they were much more than that as well.

Sesshoumaru felt a drop of sweat cascade down his back and his heart, Gods; it felt as though it were going to burst right through his chest. If she were to touch him right now, he was sure she could feel it. As if she heard his thoughts, she did just that. It was a small touch, but it made his skin like liquid fire. (Insert your own sizzling noise here.) He stiffened at the contact.

Her eyebrows furrowed together.

“Sesshy, what’s wrong? Is there something going on that I need to know about?”

He tried to clear his throat before he spoke.

“Nothing’s wrong Kags. I just have a lot on my mind right now, you know, following in my father’s footsteps and all.”

‘Kami, I wish my heart would stop pounding. This is going to kill me.’

He hadn’t noticed that her hand had made its way to his back.

“Sess, you’re dripping with sweat! Let’s go outside, maybe you just need some fresh air.”

He hid his face behind his silvery white hair and smiled.

‘Good, I was starting to feel sick, plus…’

Kagome took him by the hand and led him back towards the balcony. She paused when she saw that everything was gone from dinner. As if the slow motion button had been hit, Kagome turned back towards him with her eyes in narrow slits, pointing them directly at him.

He figured she must not have gotten too terribly pissed off since she was still holding his hand.

“Now I KNOW you are planning something Sess.”

Her face lightened up just a bit.

“I just wish you would tell me. I hate when you pull suspicious things like this on me.”

He smirked, then attempted to dodge her fist when he said, “Then you’re going to hate me for doing this,” pulls out a silky black blindfold from his pocket.

She stomped her foot, her small fists clamped into tight little balls.

“You are NOT going to blindfold me dammit!”

“Oh, but I will.”

I’m sorry this is sooooo short. My brain is just so fried from all the information I’ve been learning at my new job. It’s taking over some of my imaginative parts of my brain…

Noooo!

Please forgive me!

Ooooh, new anime…Trinity Blood…interesting…

I won’t let this story disappear, it’s just going to take some time to finish it. Again, I am so sorry this is so short. I love my readers!
