Kagome
was walking slowly in the direction of the hut.
It is so far away, I feel so weak …all
that blood loss really took a lot out of me.
God Inuyasha, She took out her pocket knife again and made another
mark. How dare you come back? I hate you for bringing all this pain… and
yet...
She was disgusted... So wrapped up in her thoughts she rose, there was someone behind her.
Kikyo
wandered down the worn path to the river, upon coming to the riverside, she
encountered Kagome. How dare Inuyasha come pay a visit to her?
up; fixing her eyes upon the former priestess.
“How
pathetic… Inuyasha was even lucky to visit.”
Kikyo spoke with malice as Kagome moved to face her.
her coldly, with so much vigor… it forced her face to turn to the side; her
eyes were wide with shock at the sting that bruised her cheekbone.
“Just
remember Kikyo… it is you who is the
pathetic one here.” Kagome said with
pure hate… the ice held in her tone made Kikyo shiver as she rubbed at the new
ache that accompanied the blow Kagome gave.
“You’ll
pay for that girl.” Kikyo spat before
she walked away, leaving Kagome alone to her thoughts yet again.

Kagome’s
thoughts went blank as she walked numbly back to the village.
Upon entering
the small hut, she was greeted by a very concerned looking Sango.
“Kagome
this has to stop… you’re only hurting yourself more, I … I know about the
cutting...” Sango said.
her friend vacantly.
“No Sango,
I don’t have to stop anything. Who cares
if I harm myself?” There were tears
rolling down her already insipid cheeks.
“How did you know anyways?”
“Inu… Inuyasha
told us. I know you are upset with him…
I don’t blame you but… he’s concerned Kagome, we all are.”
“Inuyasha…?
care; he’s the one who did this to me.
He is the one that causes these scores upon my skin… Sango I can’t stop,
when I cut myself … the scars that Inuyasha left upon my heart slowly
recuperate with blood.” Kagome replied numbly, between hollow sobs.
“Oh
Kagome… you poor thing, this is really getting to you. Why don’t you just tell
him?”
“He has
to tell me first… then I’ll tell him, I hope he says yes to my decision that
way we can both be happy at some point.”
Kagome said silently.
“Kagome
don’t worry I’m sure he will… he cares about you Kagome, regardless of what he
did, he does care.” Sango said.
“Oh, he
cares alright Sango.” She mused
sarcastically, looking away and rubbing at one of the sores that adorned her
arm.
“Kagome
you need rest… why don’t you try and get some, I’ll wake you up when supper is
done okay?” Sango said with a smile.

“Thank
you Sango, you are such a great friend to me…I don’t know how I could ever
repay you for all that you’ve done for me.”
Kagome reached up and hugged Sango before she turned to leave the hut;
she stopped at the door frame.
“Just
get some rest Kagome.”
Sango left the hut, Kagome pulled open the zipper on her sleeping bag and tried
to make her aching body rest. As she
tried to fall asleep, she couldn't rid the thoughts and memories from her worn
out brain… How can I forget those beautiful Amber eyes?
memories…
eyes snapped open as a new calmness took over at the idea.
this will end the pain that I found in your love.
idea calmed her enough to fall into a dreamless… thoughtless slumber.
