The Master Of The Beast

Disclaimer – I don’t own Inuyasha, but are you starting to wish I did?

Thoughts – So…last chapter was the first lemon. For all of you to know –I DID NOT WRITE THAT LEMON. I actually haven’t even read it...but from what "DarkianMoon" has told me in his review (which thank you by the way)...well now I'm afraid to. I have a close friend in Virginia who goes to Virginia Technical college who is majoring in English. She did the honors after I gave her the general basics of what I wanted done with it, then she added it into the final draft I sent her and she posted it for me. Understand please, that I want Kagome to be very badass in this story. I want her the COMPLETE opposite from what she is in the anime and manga because this is the only story I can have fun with. All of my other ones so far have her basically the same except for a few quirks. Anyway, I decided to say this now because my thoughts for chapter three were long enough. Anyway, SOMEONE ON ASINGLESPARK.COM HAD A QUESTION THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE SO PLEASE READ THIS!

TO: “djl”, The reason why Kikyo is being punished is because she did 'something' that let Yasumi find the opening to the gate where the vampires enter. If that had happened, then a series of events could have happened and the vampires and the other six levels of hell could be discovered. Also, she was sent to the second level to be judged by Ida-Ten (guardian of justice) and he then judged her to be dealt with by Izanami since Kikyo was a creation of hers. Don't worry if your still confused, I explained more of it in this chapter.

News - Well it’s good, I'll get that outta the way. Anyway, I have two other stories at AFF (adultfanfiction) and am going to transfer them here to SS. Check them out when you can, they should be up soon.

Thanks again to “HotAngelFromHell”, don’t worry you didn’t scare me. I laughed again while reading your message. You didn’t come off as a psychopath-lol.

Chapter 4: Master of the Beast

In the darkest night of the year,
When the stars have all gone out,
That courage is better then fear,
That faith is truer then doubt.;
And fierce though the fiends may fight,
And long through the angels hide,
I know that Truth and Right
Have the universe at their side;
And that somewhere, beyond the stars,
Is a love that is better then fate;
When the night unlocks her bars
I shall see Him, and I will wait.

~Washington Gladden (excerpts from “Ultima Veritas”)

She woke slowly, her long lashes fluttering open.

Looking around, she found that she was alone, and smiled widely, stretching her arms up over her head as she stretched out the rest of her body luxuriously. Looking around, she saw that the candles had all burned down and grasping the covers not-so-gently, she slid them away and stepped out from the bed. Naked, she walked to her mirror and picked up her clothes from the other day. She was surprised that the amount of blood on them was minimal, almost unnoticeable.

She shrugged. Not that she was complaining.

Walking over to a large imported wooden dresser, she opened it and looked through it until she found a regal brocaded steel boned corset. Its front pressing her ample breasts up to show a good deal of cleavage, only a thick piece of black lace wrapping around its rim to cover her nipples. Along with the bust, it had rear lacing with black velvet panels and scroll patterned satin brocade. After a few minutes of tying it, she opened another drawer and took out a flowing black skirt made out of silk. Slipping it on, she surveyed her appearance in the mirror and brushed her hair, putting it up in a neat chignon. Lastly, she applied a tight black lace collar with embroidered seed pearls and turning her head to either side, surveyed her profile.

Walking down the hallway, she took a backdoor and began to walk down an elegant staircase. As she did so, she observed another man talking with Miroku near the bottom of the landing. His waist length brown hair was down, tied off at the end with a black leather cord. He was wearing a black disintegration top that look ready to fall apart, with matching black disintegration skirted jeans. Hearing her descend the stairs, he turned to survey her, and she smiled, looking around him to Miroku who was wearing a sexy restraint top with long sleeves that had D-ring detailing along the outside and down the front. His low riding pants matched his top, with the D-ring detailing down the sides, and he wore thick leather boots. She nodded in his direction since he was her second in command, and he nodded back, one arm going out behind him as the other bent against his chest. The man he was talking to did the same.

The reason for the sudden show of respect was because of others being around. Usually when it was only her and Miroku, he just simply lowered his head to her as he had last night. She preferred it actually to the elaborate gestures given to her now but shrugged them away. With power came respect, and she could put up with a few pet peeves if it meant being respected.

“Mistress Kagome. How wonderful to see you back with us here in hell.” The other man said with a toothy smile. She nodded her head in thanks.

“Brother Naraku. I take it you have not changed your ways.”

“Never. The world would be a better place if I did.” He said with an evil laugh.

“Ah, how true.” She said as she stopped before them, facing them calmly as she gave Naraku her hand, his own reaching out to take it and kiss the back. Done, he straightened, her hand going through to rest on his forearm. With Miroku walking on her other side, she glanced sideways at another mirror and watched the three of them pass. Ha…the stupid mirror fallacy the humans claimed, had always annoyed her. They still had mass, still had physical bodies. Therefore how would it make sense to not have a reflection or shadow? True, these things could be manipulated but they rarely did since there was not much of a need to do so.

“I take it you like my corset?” She asked in referral to his smile as they walked under an archway, and into a large hallway. Naraku shrugged and continued to walk with her until they reached an elaborately painted screen, vampires and demons winding fluidly through fire as demon horses galloped across nothingness, their great black bodies glistening with a life-like intensity upon the screen.

“No more or less then the others.” He said, his dark voice making her smile loosely.

“Aw…but I thought you liked the one in black leather I wore when I killed that priest last month.” He smirked at her words but didn’t have time to answer as she stepped forward and snapped the screen open.

She heard talking inside, a woman laughing at something a more childish voice was saying, and she stepped inside to see two of her coven, each with a crystal glass of red liquid lounging in western chairs or kneeling on plush cushions. It was amazing in her mind, the way her Coventry members had combined two completely different cultures to make them come together into one within her domain.

There were two occupants within the room, and when they saw her, they both stood and bowed just as elaborately as Miroku and Naraku had done. She smiled at them all and clapped her hands, causing them to rise once more.

“Sister Kagura. Have things been quiet?” She asked.

Kagura, a tall woman with long brown hair tied in an elaborate bun at the top of her head, stepped forward towards her and offered her the extra glass that was resting on top of a laden tray. Kagome nodded in thanks and took it, surveying her attire. She was wearing a beautiful Chinese satin brocaded corset with shoulder straps that had a flattering V shaped front. The corset was steel boned with front and back lacing and was delicately trimmed in black satin both on top and on the bottom edges. The Chinese silk design that textured it, was in black and red cherry blossoms, with a connected ankle length skirt.

Inwardly, she approved of it. But then, Kagura had always had taste, even as a human, one of the main reasons for her being within the coven. But then everyone had a purpose.

“As quiet as that castle I heard you decimated.” Kagura said with a smirk as she reached up to play with one of her beaded earrings. Kagome nodded, her mouth frowning in Kagura’s light tone. She changed the subject.

“Where is sister Sango?” She asked, her eyes scanning over the room as if the said person was there and has just not risen.

“Mistress Kagome…” Her eyes skimmed downwards to a small girl around seven who was looking patiently up at her.

“Yes Rin?” The girl was wearing a long blue velvet dress with spaghetti straps lined with black satin and lace panels. Small black silk slippers adorned her small feet, her shoulder length hair down except for a side ponytail.

“Coven member Sango will be back shortly. She is out hunting.” The small girl said as she drank from her glass. Kagome nodded in thanks and turned to sit in one of the chairs. She had becoming more attached to the western attributes of the castle, and had moved away from the more Japanese part of her society.

She watched as Kagura and Naraku exchanged words and then kissed each other. She smiled, thinking about the previous night, wondering if Koga would come to her tonight. For now however, she would remain here, with her coven, and see if any news had been discovered about her sister. She wanted to know more for the sake of herself and the other two members more then anything else. Kikyo had been…well, deserving of her punishment. Besides, it was not in her, nor anyone else’s nature as a vampire to feel bad for anyone, let alone another vampire. The fact that her sister was caught and being tortured, ashamed her more then worried her. Kikyo had been a master. She had responsibilities that had to be done, and while Koga or Bankotsu could do them for her, it would in general create an imbalance. Three was, after all, an unlucky number.

“Brother Miroku.” The said man took a seat next to her and joined in watching Kagura continue to kiss Naraku, her tongue traveling under his jaw to nip at the bottom of his chin. Naraku’s eyes closed in pleasure.

“I will remain here for a few days…but only to rest. Yasumi has been silenced, and I would prefer to stay and train my new pet.” She said, as she sipped from her goblet. Miroku nodded slowly and watched as Naraku sank his fangs into her bare arm.

“Wait…you have another pet?” Miroku asked as the two stumbled through the screen door, closing it behind them.

“Yes. I gave Hakaisha, to Rin for her own devises. The others were destroyed for their flaws. However I have no name for him yet. I spawned him from that rodent, Yasumi’s skull. So ironic…their messenger that was going to give them the answer to all of our demises, and especially mine, ended up killed almost all of them…” She was silent then, filled with malicious satisfaction. She loved irony.

“Naraku is impatient today.” She said offhandedly, as she finished her drink and stood to pour more for herself. She had to walk back to the original table the glass had rested on, and then pour the pitcher full of red liquid carefully into her glass.

Returning to her seat she sat down gracefully.

“This blood is good, Miroku. Who did you kill?” She asked in reference to the liquid within her glass, her hand gently rolling the cup in a circle, making the blood become a slow cyclone within the glass.

“A girl picking berries. I found her earlier, perhaps a few hours before you awoke. Virgin blood like this is indeed a delicacy.” He said with a leer. Kagome grinned as she looked up and saw a woman enter.

“I’ve been waiting for you my sister.” Kagome said as the woman closed the screen behind her and proceeded to bow.

“Sister Sango.” The others greeted monotonously.

“Mistress Kagome. I heard that you were successful…the humans above us are frantic with fear. It’s intoxicating…you should go see.” She was wearing a textured black velvet dress with tie fastenings on the chest and thighs. Long side splits and gothic sleeves hung down her sides, a simple pendant with a sapphire hanging from her elegant white neck. Silk slippers like Rin’s adorned her feet.

“I don’t feel up to it. I think I will just stay and train.”

“Does that mean your staying?” Sango asked, looking disappointed. Kagome paused before answering and handed Sango her glass, still three quarters of the way full.

She stood.

“For a few days, yes.” And with that she left, her hips moving hypnotizing back and forth as she walked. Sango and Miroku watched her leave and then looked at one another. Miroku shrugged at Sango’s curious glance.

“I think that I will go hunting now. I will be back in a few hours so if anything should happen, you know what to do.” He said coolly as he stood as well.

“Where do you think she went?” Sango asked as she walked Miroku out. He nodded slightly down the opposite hall that they had come.

“The holding cages.”

*****

Walking through the castle, she soon reached the exit and entered once more into the semi-lighted atmosphere.

Walking forward, her steps were evenly paced as she strode to the entrance of the holding cages. When she got there a few minutes later, it was to a great iron barred gate, standing strong and imposing in front of her. Behind it was an equally imposing set of wooden transport doors that would automatically take her to where her mount was being held. It was a marvelous invention, run solely on magic and the backs of the demon servants the vampires kept. Because she was a master, she knew already that when she stepped through the doors and arrived at her pet’s cage, she would have a large sand training ring equipped with whatever tools she needed. Koga and Bankotsu had the same along with Kikyo, but her sister had never kept any pets. She hadn’t needed to since she could create an extension of her body that looked much like a large white snake.

Looking at the gate, there was no split where doors would be, nor were there any kind of handles. Sighing, she reached out to run her hand gently across the smooth metal, until she found a small indent where a keyhole would be. Snapping her fingers softly, she seemed to passerbies as if holding some kind of object before reaching forwards and twisted it into the gate. Nodding in satisfaction; she saw a thin white line run up the metal bar directly before her, looking much like cracking ice, until it finally disappeared to the top of the gate. There was a soft ‘click’ before she stepped back and allowed the gate to slowly swing forward. Stepping inside, she felt a tingle pass over her body as the enchantment cleared her vampire blood and allowed her entrance.

Inside, she was greeted by the same little demon that had greeted her yesterday. She waited as it bowed and reached out with one tiny hand to give her a ring of metal keys. She took them and stepped past, walking forwards to the wooden doors. Inserting a small, arrow shaped key, it slipped easily into the lock and turned, causing the doors to unlock. Tying the keys to her waist, she stepped forward to throw the doors open, and was immersed in bright white light, her body disintegrating into it as she stepped through.

Sesshomaru was sleeping when the sun began to set. His arm had bothered him all that day so he had retired earlier then normal. Now however, he began to wake, cursing himself for sleeping earlier than normal because he would now be up much of the night.

Sitting up, he drank from the water glass that had been left for him and gasped, after downing it. He closed his eyes as the cool liquid traveled down his throat into his stomach and then opened them as he leaned against the headboard of his spacious futon. Alone, with only a few flickering candles and the fireplace to give him light, his thoughts drifted to ‘her’.

He had only seen her once before that night at the castle…the other being when he had watched her kill his mother and father. That was why he was here now…why he had created this army of warriors…created an organization with members wo were intent on the same thing that he was…finding and killing her. Inuyasha was too young to understand what was going on when all of this had first started, Sesshomaru figured that to some point, he still didn’t know. But Sesshomaru had vowed to destroy her…and he would. He glanced over at his missing arm and felt himself grow into a rage. She had deliberately decided not to kill him…just mocked him…all of it to cause him pain. Yasumi had been his best spy, both acting as a messenger and mediator…and that Kikyo vampire who had been acting as a double agent had simply disappeared. He wondered at that, his eyebrows drawing together.

What had happened to Kikyo?

Had she been discovered by her own kind for helping the humans? Had she been killed or left helpless somewhere? The questions swirled through his mind. After all…she had been his lover. But what good was it now? She had leaked information to him and she had been his only source besides his now-dead messenger. He groaned in frustration, his remaining hand slamming against the silk sheets. For now, he would have to assume Kikyo was dead. He could not risk letting his worry for her cloud his mind and judgment.

‘I will find that spawn…that ‘thing’ that calls herself Kagome!’ He thought with a belittling attitude. He would heal as quickly as possible and find her. He would die finding her.

‘With my last breath…’

~Three Days Later~

“Down! Capture your target! Tuck in your wings, Yakusojou!” She said sternly as she snapped the whip. Her pet cried out in acknowledgment and did a barrel roll mid-air, his long black wings melting against its body like a second skin. She smiled as her mount plummeted towards the ground and then caught himself at the last moment and rolled to the side, his back legs tucking under to come down and grasp the human sized scarecrow doll a few meters away. She applauded him as he sped past her, his claws ripping the doll apart to toss it aside, its body turning vertically in mid air.

His glorious wings rippled in the air as he rolled again, and landed with deadly accuracy directly beside her, his wings flapping slightly to keep his balance.

Clapping her hands in delight, she cried out in delight and stroked its scaly head. It gave a strange, hissing purr and leaned forward, wings elongating up to stretch out and shake violently in a sign of pleasure. She laughed again as she threw a head of a freshly killed human into the air, and watched her pet rear up and snatch it before it even had time to come down. She watched as its jaws clamped down on it, razor sharp teeth sinking into, and through the bone to snap it clean in half. She nodded approvingly at him and snapped the whip once more a few moments later causing Yakusojou to growl and come to attention, his head lowering to fix his yellow gaze on her.

With a series of complicated hand gestures, he laid out her creature’s next battle tactics. It purred again, yellow eyes flashing as it bared its teeth and reared its head up in understanding. She was impressed when it backed up and then took to the air, its back legs more powerful then she had thought. She watched his maneuvering, the way his graceful body flew through the air, corded muscles moving under taunt skin. Small horny stubs had arranged themselves along the ridge of his nose, and would soon become full out horns as he grew, similar spikes forming from his rump down the length of his serpentine tail. She had had him for a little more then a week now, naming him Yakusojou, meaning ‘promise of death’. Truthfully, it was all she could think to name him. Besides, he’d taken quickly to it, surprisingly well actually, considering how he was only in his third stage of metamorphosis. Three more levels would come, but the next would not for a few more weeks. So before then, she knew he had to be trained carefully, and thoroughly. Amusedly, she wondered if she were becoming attached to the thing, but shook her head. They had been training for the last five days for hours at a time. Earlier she had actually faced off against him and gained a long slash across the side of her head which had healed over within seconds. Still, she had applauded the performance, causing her new pet to preen and stalk around as a dog would after gaining a bone and not wanting to share it with anyone.

She watched s Yakusojou finished the session and clapped her hands lightly in praise. In return, Yakusojou shrieked in a way much like that of a hawk and landed with a soft thump before her. She nodded towards him as she leaned behind her and picked up a steel combed brush, the brush part covered with a thick piece of polished leather. Quickly, running it over his scales, she brushed off the slight sheen of sweat and dust before doing the same to his wings.

Growling softly, it gave a low purr as she wiped a thick patch of dirt from the thick bone where his wings connected to his shoulder blades. Shaking her head, she finished quickly and gestured to the large building that served as a ‘cage’. It actually looked more like someone had taken a house and cut it clean in half then gutted everything inside of it out, including the floors, to leave a hollow shell. The inside of this structure was three hundred feet long, looking much like a horse barn, and was able to have fit three of her pets comfortably within it. It was nested down with hay and gravel, a large water tub made out of solid marble and half the size of her body, resting against a back corner where it was safe from the dust coming off of the arena. There actually was no gate or fence to close him in, but instead a barrier that acted like one.

Leading Yakusojou in, she stroked his head once more before letting it turn to drink from its water tub and with a snap of her fingers, activated the barrier. The barrier was mostly for just containing the creatures within. If allowed to run loose, they could become stubborn and refuse to listen to commands or give their masters a hard time with catching them.

Taking the ring of keys off her hip, she put them into the door to the other side. There were no walls connected to it, and if one were to look behind it, they would see just the other side of the door, but once opened, it led into a bright, illuminating light. As she stepped through, she felt her body being taken over with the brightness of the light and just as she walked through, she heard Yakusojou give a farewell cry. She smiled slightly at it and then felt herself appear on the other side. The door closed itself behind her, and she sighed as she gave the keys to the same demon that had been waiting beforehand. She was tired…they had been practicing for many hours and the sun was beginning to rise. Opening the gate as she had the first time, she stepped through and began to walk back to the house. She looked forward to going back above ground.

Soon, she would strike again. She would kill Sesshomaru and his little half brother, and thus annihilate the entire living family. After all…it was because of their mother and father, that she was what she now was.

Thoughts – Do you ever have something within yourself that you secretly hate? That you would give anything to not have, hiding it away from the outside world, and even the people around you? I do. I pride myself on being very honest both with myself and my surroundings. And the thing I am speaking of, at least for me, is a dark side that I carry. It’s so strange you know…smiling, laughing, having fun with friends…while secretly deep down you wonder just how much pain you could cause if you really wanted to. I never act out on it, nor will I ever, that I am sure off. I just say this now because it is a great deal of what influences this story. It’s very…healing, in a way, to create a character who seems to be my other half…to be that dark side of the moon, so to speak. The darker side of me.

Info – I never really aced in fashion design you know? So I cheated and went online. If you would like to see the clothing that everyone is wearing, go to:
