Sesshoumaru froze in his hiding place. Yes, his father had told Inuyasha about the heir topic and the bastard had agreed to play along. Fuck, he even spent no time at trying to drag his angel into his father’s impious game. Where did the whelp had been when Kami delivered brains to everyone? Nowhere around, figures. Came his subconscious answer. Wait, did his brother just called him what? Breathe Sesshoumaru, just breathe.

Ah, but he was sort of glad the girl was putting up a fight. Quite the World War III. He smirked as he saw his idiotic brother cower in front the little woman. Women’s ire is something to be avoided. But his angel’s wrath…oh, it was just something to fear!

Why? She wondered. So she asked.

“Why?”

Inuyasha gently took her hands in his, and explained. “You see, my father told me he came to an agreement with the whole family as for who is to be proclaimed his heir.”

Kagome stared at him, narrowing her brown eyes, working her mind into every word he was telling her. She did not want to miss a thing. “Aha?”

“And his solution was this: the first of his sons, who would be me and stupid Fluffy, to get married and bear him a grandson is to become his rightfully heir. Are you not happy Kagome? We’re at the lead!” he sang, hugging her by the waist.

Kagome’s astonishment left her quickly as she felt claws of anger gripping her person. Oh, so he just needed her? She was just something to bear him children? She didn’t think so.

“You…you…you’re such an egoistical BASTARD!!!” she yelled in his ears, stunning him so she would be freed from his embrace “So that’s what I am to you? Just a woman who is to bear you children? Eh!”

Her husband gapped at her, fear-stricken. “I-I guess this was a really bad moment to tell you…maybe lat-” he tried to walk away, but Kagome grabbed his sweater forcefully and turned him around to face her.

“Just hold there, dear husband. Let me get this straight, and listen carefully so you won’t forget. I am 20 years old and still very young from my point of view, to be having kids. Of course I want children, but not now, and NOT EVER if you are just going to use them, as well as me, to get your hands on your father’s wealth. For what matters to me, Inuyasha, you can just GO TO HELL! You, your father, and your fucking money! I don’t want it, nor I need it!”

She stomped upstairs towards her room. “And don’t even try to follow if you know what is best for your health!”

Inuyasha was left standing alone and feeling a little frightened. Man, I married a monster!

The eldest of the Taisho brothers let out a low chuckle. How he loved her for making his brother cower in fear! And now she was headed right to where he was hidden. Should he move to a more concealed place? What? This is my house! I should not even hide! So he stepped out of his secret place and walked in front of Kagome.

The petite woman was so deep in her anger that she did not notice her lover’s approach. That’s until she bumped into a soft wall…or something that felt like one. Shaking her head she lifted her gaze and found a pair of molten golden eyes, staring amused at her. Her anger rose even more.

“You!” she pointed at him with a finger, “You knew about this!”

Sesshoumaru quickly silenced her by putting his slender hand to her mouth. Then he hissed, “Do you want the idiot to know I’m here?”

Kagome ceased struggling, but kept glaring. He sighed and let her go. He was taken aback when she dragged him into her room and closed the door behind them. He kept walking while she stayed at the door. He knew she wanted some space, and who was he to deny it to her? Then abruptly, she whirled around and stuck her finger to his face…again.

“Why didn’t you tell me about your father’s plans?” she was trembling with rage, a look on her face that told him not to shit around her.

“I was waiting for the right moment to.”

“Yeah? And when would this right moment came to be?”

“When we were alone.” Sesshoumaru responded, as a matter-of-factly. Kagome’s anger was slipping away but she hung to it stubbornly.

“Ah, alone! Well, mister, now we are alone.” The silver-white haired god standing in front of her kept his calm, stoic face, but on the inside he wanted to take her right here, right now. Her tantrums made her just a bit more exciting, if that was possible. But he hesitated. He needed to take everything slowly, risk upsetting her more. He took one step towards her, and then another…and she went off crying. Ok, not slowly enough.

“Why are you still here? You should have left a while ago…” she sobbed.

“I was…distracted by one of the servants.” Yes, that would do. She needn’t to know he was still here for her.

Yes of course! screamed her mind. “So, I guess you agree with your father…just as Inuyasha did.” Oops. She had just compared him to his brother…well, that made the trick. Sesshoumaru quickly strode to her and took her by the waist, roughly. She yelped in surprise.

“What makes you think, woman, that this Sesshoumaru agrees with the pair of twisted-minded men? This is also affecting my status as the eldest son, you know, I’m the rightfully heir.”

So you don’t give a damn about me, do you? She wanted to ask, but her question came a bit more…not a question.

“SO I can go to hell. I’m so insignificant that no one gives a damn about what I fucking think, right? Oh, but that’s what I get for messing around with the Taisho family, the self-centered trio.” She had managed to wiggle out of his grasp, but as soon as she finished talking, she was again in Sesshoumaru’s tight hug.

He then, did the unthinkable. He threw her to the bed, and pinned her with his body. She was rendered speechless, and just blinked at him. But he crept closer to her face and…snarled.

“That’s what you think I am? A self-centered bastard? I’m far too different from my family, Kagome. I might seem like I own no emotions, but I do. And I DO care about… everything that concerns you and me. You think I was thrilled to know that my father wanted a grand son? No, I almost killed him! For hinting you had to become pregnant of that idiotic, attempt of humanity that is my brother. Half-brother, just for you to know. I knew the whelp would waste no time in dragging you along into my father’s new diversion, because he has always craved for what is mine. And he won’t stop until he has taken everything from me. My bank, my properties, my rightfully heirloom, and…” he stopped before he could give her any more leverage. He knew the day he externally admitted he loved her and needed her; that day would become his doom.

But she understood, and her mouth supplied the missing word “Me.” Her eyes softened and the streams of angry tears became now tears of happiness. He cares, she thought, he is just too pig-headed to tell me.

On Sesshoumaru’s side, he trembled inwardly. And he felt the most insignificant, meaningless bit of fear creeping under his skin. She knew, damn her, she knew! Would she take advantage of him? Would she… Stop freaking around, you stupid man! He scolded himself. The fact that she guesses does not mean I have to accept it and let her be sure. I still have not openly said it. Right, even powerful business men found bliss in ignorance. Though, he was brought back from his little trip to Denial-land when he felt butterfly caresses on his left cheek. He focused and found a smiling Kagome beneath him. He quickly stood up and left her on the bed.

“What was your father thinking when he thought about this solution of his?” She asked, now sitting on the mattress.

“I’m wondering the same thing.” He told her while extending his hands to her. She almost threw herself into his embrace. He couldn’t help it; she looked so lost!

My koi, I will protect you. he vowed.

Inuyasha paced around in the study, thinking.

Man, I think I just screwed up everything; she was so upset! But maybe it was due to that SMP…BMS…whatever it’s called! Oh, I need to convince her soon…or maybe not. I think I will focus on hard work. He smiled. Now that I have my own office at The Central, I will make sure that arrogant brother of mine falls into disgrace. I’ll show Father who is the worthiest one.

“Feh!” he crossed his arms over his chest, a victorious grin spreading across his handsome features. Yes, his plan was meticulously formulated, it had no weak points! Sesshoumaru was a cold bastard, so he needn’t worry about him getting married. Sesshoumaru in love, that was hilarious! And most unlikely.


Ah, he had no idea…


Ok. Now, Inuyasha just had to get into Kagome’s good graces again. He loved her for who she was, but deeply hoped she would change a bit. She was way too aggressive for his liking. Yes, she was beautiful and kind-hearted, polite and had perfect manners, but… he needed her to be more fragile, more…dependant. Like a high society lady.

Where a lady would be submissive, she always put up a fight that nearly caused his death. She had her own money and it was quite the amount. She knew how to work and was a genius when doing it. Her major had been Interior Designer, but left it just as she was about to start her fifth semester. Sure, she had her degree in two years but she wanted more, and that he could not allow it. He was the man of the house and was the one supposed to support her -financially talking.

Maybe if I let her go back to her studies…


Suddenly out of the corner of his left eye, he saw a blur of white and black. And it was headed back down the corridor. He fled.

And he found himself staring at Sesshoumaru’s retreating black-clad back. Inuyasha froze.

“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE!?”

And it was Sesshoumaru’s turn to freeze.
