Quick notes- I tried to show a little bit more of the relationship Sess/Rin. But for those of you who are in it for the Inucest…bear with me. Your time is coming. *grins*

Synopsis- Rin and Sesshy have a little chat about the past, present, and future

**Disclaimer- I do not own any part of Inuyasha, but If I did, I would arrange for a little bit of a tryst between Inu/Sess/Kouga. At the same time…mwahahahaha!**

Remember…
SESSHOMARU WANTS YOU!

Rin awoke in the cocoon of the fluffy. It must have just been a dream. She smiled and burrowed further into the fluffy and curled up with one of its…arms?

“Are you alright with what you saw little one? When I tell you to stay safe, will you do so next time?”

Rin startled, and opened her eyes, only to be faced with the piercing gold of the great lord Sesshomaru.

“I fell asleep next to you and I woke up and you were gone and I went to find you and I was so scared and I saw Inuyasha and I was worried about him and his friends and I went looking for you, cuz you weren’t there, and so I got up and—”

“Rin, its ok.” Every word in Rin’s vocabulary died at that instant. “Tell me, when you passed out, what did you see?”

“I saw blackness, and Kagome, and my family. It’s strange. I thought I didn’t remember what my family looked like. I watched them kill my father and mother and then my two brothers and then when they got to my eldest sister, they…” Rin stopped.

“Kagome was never marked by Inuyasha was she?” Rin’s inquisitive face beamed with epiphany. “At least I didn’t see any markings.”

Sesshomaru groaned at the thought of his brother’s sex life with the human who he had always thought had an annoying voice. What? Just because she’s dead doesn’t mean that in life her voice wasn’t annoying! “No. She was unmarked. She was unmarked, untouched, unmated, unpolluted.”

“So he—”

“Yes. Just like your sister. I know that you saw it. I see it in your eyes.” Rin gulped.

“Sesshomaru-sama!”

“And just like you did, Inuyasha was forced to watch as everything that he had dreamed of possessing fell spoiled by war. It is a terrible crime anytime a woman is taken against her will. But before the bond of a mate, that is almost incomprehensible.”

He whisked Rin onto his knee. She was almost too big to be held like this. My god, she was seventeen years old. But she would always be small. He wiped away with his robes the tears that were streaming down her face.

“I promise you Rin, you will never have to endure that pain ever.” Sesshomaru growled. Bending down, he picked a white wildflower that had sprung up from the sand soil. It looked so pale and fragile in the lord’s hands. “You see Rin; some people live their whole lives trying to attain a certain purity. It may be a purity of heart, or body or spirit even. However some purities are easier to clean of taint.”

“What do you mean?” Asked Rin, her eyes still remaining childlike after years of travel.

“Kagome was a human as you are, and many humans place a standard of their bodies being pure. You have been away from humans so long that this concept of purity is alien to you. Naraku knew what he was doing when he raped Kagome in front of Inu. By violating the sanctity of Kagome’s body, untouched by Inuyasha, he polluted the spirits of both Inuyasha and Kagome. Most of all, Inuyasha’s. Of all wounds to heal, wounds to the spirit take the longest. Demons do not hold the same code of morals. It is more painful not to touch your own mate and mark them as your own than to stay pure for another.”

Sesshomaru turned his head from the pitiful sight of Kagome. Rin saw him rip the petals from the flower and crumple them up in his hand.

“Please tell me what is wrong.” Rin gazed up into her lord’s eyes only to be met with a glare of ice.

“Congratulations. You look to me for strength and find only weakness.” Sesshomaru spat. “Let’s move these bodies before the animals get to them. I suppose the insolent pup would be angry with me if I left their bodies to rot.”

Rin’s eyes grew alight. “Why don’t you revive them! You saved me from the dead. Oooh man! I remember seeing all the little hell demons running around fighting for my soul, and then a flash of light and BOOM! I was in your arms! Sesshomaru-sama! You really shou—“

“No!” The demon’s eyes flashed. “It has to be this way.”

Rin stared at her feet. “Why?” She muttered.

“My father, before Inuyasha was born, told me he wanted me to have something to protect.”

Rin tugged on his robes. “I don’t get it.”

“I have looked far and wide conquering the land and getting stronger, but father’s voice does not lessen. Now that I am old enough to understand, I now see that I have two things to protect.”

“What?”

“If you knew, I’d have to kill you.”

The whites of Rin’s eyes dwarfed her face. Sesshomaru smiled at how much value she put on the literal meaning of his words. He found his hand reaching up to her, but forced it back down to his side.

“No no, not literally. Go find Jaken so that he can help me clean up this pit.”

Rin scurried off yelling behind her, “Kay!”

Sesshomaru watched the girl run down the trail, her hair streaming out behind her, a flag of raven feathers. She was seventeen years old now, very much an adult in her own right. Perhaps that’s why he took on the young ningen. Because demons have such a long life, their developmental stages last for an agonizingly long time. If he had picked up a young demon, like Shippo, he would have run himself through on his sword. Several times. Rin on the other hand had grown from a little child to a glorious woman in the blink of Sesshomaru’s eyes.

When they were alone, sometimes he said more to her than he would like. Like tonight. A demon of her “age” would have already understood the events that transpired earlier. He had to teach her! How could he protect somebody who was not only innocent but ignorant!

“Master! I’m coming! I’m here!” Jaken waved his arms wildly while calling to Sesshomaru. God how he hated that annoying voice. If he wasn’t so helpful…

“Clean up the bodies behind those rocks and stack them neatly. I will return shortly to pick them up.”

“What!? Sesshoooomaruuu! Don’t leave Jaken to do that task by himself! It will take twice as long!”

“Exactly. I will be busy for quite some time. Wouldn’t want you to be bored.”

Jaken sighed dejectedly. “Yes my lord. As you wish.”
