Finding You

Last time

"Okaasan, you know that we can't pass through the well like you and InuYasha." Shippo said and Kagome smiled.

"Let me see if you can while you're holding on to me, ok? Get under my shirt. Hold on tight. I dont want to lose you in a time portal, who knows where you'd end up you little scamp." She said and Shippo laughed doing as she asked. She smiled at the others. "If this works I'm bringing you over one by one. I'll tell Shippo the rules and he'll tell you when we get there."

With that she jumped into the well.


Chapter 4: “It means buckle your seatbelt Dorothy, because Kansas is going bye-bye”-The Matrix

A white-blue light surrounded Kagome and Shippo, and they promptly disappeared. Sesshoumaru and Youko, peering over the edge with Rin and a few others, were amazed. Youko had seen it once before, and it had yet to fall out of the 'amazing' category in his mind. Sesshoumaru merely raised an eyebrow at the sight while Rin squealed. So that's why Kagome Higurashi's aura would dissappear for days at a time. Youko sat down and leaned against the well, looking up at the sky. Sesshoumaru snorted at the kitsune's actions. Obviously thinking about HIS Kagome. Yes, Kagome was his. He will make it so, she was perfect, other than being ningen. However, she was stronger than even himself, and that made her the best choice for a mate.

Youko yawned and watched InuYasha and the others get ready to go. InuYasha chuckled as they gathered their things, they would be there a while most likely. Kagome was no longer in just 'school' but now College, which was alot more strict. Of course she had a special college she went to, a private college that actually taught many youkai and hanyou, he was told. She told him many things of the place, like how her favorite Professor was named Genkai, and how she got to practice her archery during that class. She was only one of a few students in that class, and they all had powers she couldn't describe.

InuYasha jumped into the well, grinning as the two other silver haired youkai looked at him with jealous eyes.

!!**!! Future !!**!!

Kagome and Shippo climbed out of the well and she had to hold Shippo back from running out of the well house. Shippo looked up at her curiously and Kagome sighed.

"Shippo-chan, each person I bring back I want you to tell them the rules I tell you ok?" Kagome asked and Shippo nodded as they walked up the steps to ground level. She smiled. "If you tell them everything right I'll give you two boxes of pocky later, ok?" He nodded again. "Ok.

Rule number one, do not leave the well house until I make sure everything is ready and prepare my family. This way no one will see that people can travel through time and mess up anything.

Rule number two, no killing or hurting anyone in this time, its against the law and can get me in serious trouble. Not only would I be locked away, but if they kill someone I would probebly be killed for that.

Rule number three, the smells are strong here, and so everyone should lower their scenting abilities. I have placed a spell on the shrine grounds so the smells aren't so bad, but outside the shrine grounds it could possibly hurt them pretty bad.

Rule number four, everyone will have to dress in clothes from my time so that they don't stick out. This means I'm going to go out for a few hours and get you all some clothes, so they have to listen to my mom.

Rule number five, mask demon attributes. This means tails, pointy ears, and claws. Eyes, markings, and hair color can be easily explained.

Rule number six, no demonic abilities in front of other humans but me and my family.

Rule number seven, no talking of the past. This would get people curious and ask questions that I can't answer. Did you get that all down Shippo-chan?" She asked and Shippo smiled.

"Don't leave the well house without your permission. No hurting or killing anyone. Block out scents cuz it stinks bad outside the Shrine. Modern clothes will be worn. Look as ningen as possible. No using powers infront of anyone but you and your family. No talking about the past. Right?" Shippo said and Kagome nodded. They both looked towards the well to see InuYasha climbing out.

"Heard the rules, I'll help the runt tell everyone. Bring in Sesshoumaru and Youko first, they'll need time to let it sink in." InuYasha said and sat by Shippo. "Kagome, make sure that damned fox of yours helps everyone hide their demon stuff, ok? I can't do that."

Kagome nodded and jumped down the well. One by one the group was brought over. Sesshoumaru and Youko both helped hiding demon's attributes, including Kintaro, Kirara, and Kitaji. When all was said and done Kagome looked them over to make sure everything was perfect. InuYasha looked like his human form, only with golden eyes. Shippo lacked the tail, ears, paws, claws, and now had black hair and freckles. Sesshoumaru had changed his hair black, keeping the same golden eyes, and his skin was more tan. Youko also had black hair, golden eyes, and tanned skin. Kirara now had green eyes, and one tail. Kintaro looked like a large weenie dog with black fur, though it had a white like in the middle of its muzzle two show it was still two different personalities. Kitaji was now all white, had blue eyes, and one tail. Rin's eyes were changed to gold, showing she was Sesshoumaru's daughter. Sango remained the same, as did Miroku. AhUn now looked like a large green and black two headed snake. Kuronue decided that he would have light brown hair, slightly tanned skin, and bright blue eyes.

"Ok, to explain who you are to any friends of mine we may run into, Sesshoumaru, InuYasha, and Youko are brothers and friends of the family. Your last name will be Ninji. Rin is Sesshoumaru's daughter. Sango is my cousin and Miroku is her boyfriend. Sango's last name is Taijya and Miroku's is Houshi. Shippo is Sango's son, so Shippo's last name is Taijya as well. Kuronue is Youko's best friend and his last name is Okinawa." A groan was heard and Kagome giggled. "Kirara is Sango's pet cat. Kitaji and Kintaro are my new pets. AhUn is Sesshoumaru's pet snake, with a two-headed deformity." She looked around making sure she didn't miss anyone. "Ok, with that settled I'll be right back."

Kagome left the well house quickly, looking around for anyone. She ran to the house, calling for her mom. "Okaasan!" She called out and her family came running. She explained what was going on and Risa, Kagome's mother, went to prepare rooms. Souta ran out to the well house to tell everyone it was ok to come to the house, and Ji, Kagome's grandfather, went back to his room to keep away from the 'baka evil demons.'

Kagome followed Souta, smiling. They reached the well house and smiled at everyone inside. "It's ok to come out!" Kagome announced.

!!**!! Elsewhere(Ningenkai then Reikai) !!**!!

Botan opened a portal and landed beside Kurama and Hiei, who were walking away from a shrine. "Come one, you two, Koenma wants to see you! It took me thirty minutes to find you, you know!" She said and they nodded, following her through the portal. Knowing Botan, she must actually be pretty pissed at Kurama and Hiei, seeing that was her personality. She was usually friendly and very happy, reminding Youko of Kagome when she was with the children, but when it came to preforming her duties, she's all buisness. Again, Kagome with the jewel shards. Of course he knew of Botan's little crush on him, which is why he never got any of her scoldings, Yusuke, however, was often being yelled at.

In Koenma's office everyone stood waiting. Kuwabara looked at the two as they entered. "What took ya so long?" He asked, innocently. Yusuke scowled at them and faught the urge to punch their lights out.

"I had a date with Keiko planned you know! You could have come sooner!" He snapped and Kurama sighed. Koenma then took his turn to growl at them.

"This is an emergancy! Several youki* and shina* ki* have popped up at this one Shrine! The Sunset Shrine! Its the same place where that girl, Kagome Higurashi, keeps dissappearing to somewhere unknown! What's worst is that the Shikon no Tama* is there and keeps dissappearing and reappearing when sh--" Koenma ranted and Kurama sighed.

"Koenma, if you don't mind, I know what is going on. This is part of Youko's past you see." Kurama said and Koenma sat back in his chair. Kurama closed his eyes and Youko stood there with sparkling eyes.

"Kagome Higurashi was to be my mate, five hundred years ago." He saw Botan take a step back, tears in her eyes. "She is also attatched to Sesshoumaru, Lord of Western Makai*. This was back when the barrier fell for about two hundred years, it was nearing the end of the time frame when I met her. She travels through time to gather the Shikon no kakkera*, since she is the guardian of the Shikon no Tama. The energies you have found are her group, she wanted them to see her home before they return to collect the last shard. After her quest in that time is over she will stop disappearing, to my knowledge at least." Youko explained, dropping onto a couch and leaning back. "I will take her as my mate as soon as she is done with her quest, it is the only reason I fled to a body, to find her again."

Hiei scowled. "Leave them alone, Koenma, they are the ones that defeat Naraku."

Kuwabara and Yusuke blinked. "Naraku? Shikon no Tama? Sesshoumaru? What the hell's going on here?!" Yusuke snapped and Youko chuckled, his tail swaying slightly.

"She saves the world, baka." Hiei said and Yusuke snorts.

"Yeah right, I bet you two are making this all up so that demons could take over or some shit!" Kuwabara added and Youko scowled.

"I would not lie about my mate, boy." Botan winced. "I've waited too long to see her again. I watched as she put all her energies into putting up the barrier again, I raised her kit on my own, I even watched as she killed Naraku. Sesshoumaru and I could not even kill the tainted hanyou, and fell with the others. Kagome killed him with one blow. InuYasha died not long afterwards, with that damned corpse he was so fond of. Sesshoumaru's little ningen girl almost died, would have without Kagome. Koroune died soon after. I watched as Kagome's friends slowly died from old age. They had become close to me, Sango and Miroku. They had many children together, you know. Miroku was always a lech." Youko rambled on, his eyes taking a more softer look, glazed over and saddened. "I watched as she made the wish and disappeared. Right before my eyes..." He said before Suichi was again pushed out into the 'real world,' and Botan stood in the background in a corner, refusing to cry.

Kurama looked around at everyone, sitting up straight. Everyone but Hiei gawked at him. "Well, we couldn't very well let you disrupt the past now could we?" He said and Hiei's lips curled up in a small smile. "And, damn it Hiei, what the hell else do you know about her?! I thought you didn't know her!!"

"Hn." Said the fire apparition with that little smile.

!!**!! Sunset Shrine !!**!!

It took FOREVER to get everyone situated. Shippo, Rin, Kirara, Kintaro, Kitaji, and Sango would all sleep in Kagome's room. Shippo and Rin in Kagome's bed with Kagome, while the rest on the floor with Sango on a futon. Miroku and InuYasha would sleep in Souta's room, at Souta's insistance that InuYasha be near, with AhUn. Sesshoumaru and Youko would sleep in Ji's room, without Ji there. Ji would sleep with Risa in her room. With much griping and pouting Kagome took everyone's measurements and ran out to buy clothes. When she came back she had to have Miroku and Sango help her unload the bags and bags of clothes. Each was labled with a person's name, and each person got 7 shirts and 7 pairs of pants. Not to mention each person got a swimsuit, several underwear, socks, and hair bands. And this didn't even include the food!

By the time Kagome got everything in the house Rin, Shippo, and Kuronue had been introduced to the wonders of video games, which they quickly caught on to. Kirara, Kintaro, and Kitaji found a new toy in Buyo, who mostly just layed around lazily. Everyone now knew how to use most of the electronics, Youko and Sesshoumaru watching the news on the living room TV. InuYasha was dozing in the kitchen waiting for food. Kuronue was listening to Ji's tales and correcting him from time to time, having befriended the old man some how. Kagome, tired and out of energy, was sleeping in the living room across both Sesshoumaru and Youko's laps.

A knock on the door caused Kagome to wake up tiredly. She moaned and closed her eyes tight. "Nu uh...seeep time..." She murmured in a slurred voice, only to roll over, off the couch, and having to be caught by two youkai. She blinked and laughed. "Sorry!" She said and stood up. She watched as Souta got the door.

"Hello." Souta chirped happily and Kagome walked over to the door, peering around it to see who it was. Oh no. Kagome's eyes widened when Eri, Ayumi, and Yuka grinned at her.

"Kagome! We have the perfect guy for you! He's just so sweet! Just like Hojo! You'll love him!" They all rambled on, talking about this 'Suichi' guy that Kagome hadn't even heard of before. She groaned and put her hand to her face.

"Oh, Kagome, are you ill?" Eri asked and Souta immediatly nodded.

"Yeah, Kagome's cousin is here to take care of her though, so don't worry, we'll see you around!" He said and slammed the door in their faces. Kagome sighed and slumped to the ground.

"Thank kami!* Kagome said, hugging Souta. "I so owe you!" She said and Shippo laughed.

"Kagome you're scared of three little girls?" She asked and Kagome shook her head.

"No, its just they keep trying to push me into getting into relationships with guys, and I can't very well tell them about Sesshoumaru or Youko. One, their both demons, two, it would seem like I'm playing them both, three, they'd want to meet them!" She thought, placing her hands over her heart. "I nearly had a heart attack when they met InuYasha!"

Souta laughed. "That was funny! You screamed and dropped the tea everywhere!"

Kagome sighed and went back to Youko and Sesshoumaru, who both had an eyebrow raised. "So...whats so bad about them meeting us, eh?" Youko asked, grinning at her. Kagome stuck out her tongue at him. "I'd rather not let them find out that I have two guys that want me as a mate, thanks! It's like I'm betraying you both by being with the other, and they'd think I was a slut!" She said and dropped down between the two. Sesshoumaru gave a soft snort.

"Slut? No, rather an irresistable woman who, annoyingly to us males, does not want a mate yet." Youko said and grinned down at her. Kagome giggled. Youko rested his arm around her waist and Sesshoumaru's arm snaked around her shoulders. She took up the remote and changed the channel, grinning when she came upon 'House' which was rather amusing. Doctor House was rude, yet always so right when it came to patients. It was only a little while later when Risa came in with dinner.

"Here's some steak for you, and Oden* for Kagome!" She said and Kagome grinned.

"It's been forever since I had Oden!!" Kagome said and took a bite. She moaned at the taste, throwing her head back and savoring the taste before swallowing. "Thank you 'Kaasan!" She said and poked Youko and Sesshoumaru in the side.

"You two eat up, it's good!" She said and watched as each took their first small bites. Youko raised an eyebrow and Sesshoumaru just kept eating slowly and delicately.

"This is beef, but it has something else on it, what is it?" Youko asked Kagome and Kagome grinned.

"Spices from all over the world! We have ways so everyone can get access to such spices easily, but a few hundred years ago they were so rare that only the richest of the rich could have them. That means Sesshoumaru most likely had some, if he went into the trade buisness, which I suggest you do, Sesshou-kun." She said, and began eating again. "God I missed this!"

!!**!! Outside !!**!!

Hiei and Kurama once more rested in the Goshinbaku, watching Kagome through the window. Hiei raised an eyebrow as he saw how affectionate Youko was with the girl, as well as the ever emotionless Sesshoumaru. He could understand why, her being so pure, but still. They were showing affection at the same time, infront of others no less. Hiei watched as each dipped their head down to her giving her a small kiss each before she got up and left.

Kurama sighed longingly. He watched Youko kiss Kagome and then Sesshoumaru taking his own kiss. She blushed and stood, making an excuse and hurried up stairs to her room, leaving an empty bowl on the table infront of them.

~I miss her. Let's go to her.~ Youko whined and Kurama shook his head as he sat down in their mind.

'You know we can't.' Suichi said as he watched the girl lay down on her bed.

+Of course you can't, fox, you could mess up everything. Such as her saving the world from an evil even we can not defeat.+ Hiei remarked and Youko pouted.

--Didn't I say Okaasan wasn't up for discussion until Suichi meets her? God. I was taking a nap too. Think quieter or something.-- Shippo snapped.

"Hn." Hiei said before leaving the shrine grounds, heading towards a forest where he could sleep for the night.

Kurama stayed a moment longer before heading home to his mother, Shiori.

!!**!! Elsewhere(Makai) !!**!!

A silver haired figure sat behind a great oak desk. He read over the paper again. It wouldn't be long now, before Kagome would be his. He yawned, stretching out his muscles before standing. His faithful servant sat in a corner, sleeping. His eyes narrowed as he looked at the little toad. Is skin had greyed a bit, and dark spots were forming on his skin. He was old, very old, much older than even his father. He shouldn't have pushed him so hard when he was younger, the elderly demon had always been so faithful, still was.

He walked on, leaving Jaken to sleep as he went to check on his 'first' born, barely four hundred and fifty years old. The demoness he had taken out his frustrations on then had looked much like Kagome, acted a bit like her too. She even acted a bit like Rin, loving flowers and picking them every chance she got. He peeked in and saw the pup, if you could call him a pup anymore, sleeping. He had named the child Gensou, illusion, for his mother was just that. A small part of his mind desperately wanted her to be Kagome, and so she became that Kagome until she died, by his own claws, for being caught with another male.

Gensou, being his only heir, was taught the youkai ways. He was also taught the things Kagome would have taught him. Kindness. Love. His son was kind, much kinder than himself, and accepted that his father was so much in love with this other woman. Gensou came to look much like his mother. His hair was black, though smooth like his father's, his tail was black speckled with silver, and his eyes, god his eyes, were like hers. They were big and round like Kagome's were, blue with specks of gold making them look brown and sometimes silver-grey. Yes, it was as if he had already mated Kagome.

Sesshoumaru closed the child's door and walked to Rin's empty room. He stood in it, looking at the empty bed. He had mated Rin, too, and they had one hanyou child, who was named Koori. Ice. His true first born. Koori hated her mother, for being human. However, Rin died during war time. Rin had been killed without mercy. Koori was tortured before Sesshoumaru could get her, and she had wished for death. Asked it of him. He remembered the blood to clearly.

!!**!! Flashback !!**!!(WARNING this scene is terrible and wrong!!! Tissues and someone to hug and cry on would be very good for your health. Thank you.)

Sesshoumaru broke into the room in his true form, angered by the scent of his mate and his daughter's blood. He watched as Youkai males ran from his daughter's nude body. He killed them all with one stroke. He found Rin's body had been torn apart, destroied. He reverted to his normal form and picked up Koori. Koori's brown-gold eyes looked up at him before her mouth opened.

"Onegai, otousan, kill this Koori." She said, tears falling from her eyes. Her body was covered in claw and bite marks. Her skin was marred by hickies from other demons. She had the scent of semen all over her. It was in her hair, mouth, it was everywhere. He closed his eyes and looked down at his daughter. Even one of her silver ears had been torn off. Blood soaked into her hair from the area. His clothes were soaked with her blood by that time, and he held her close. He had even shed tears for them as he nodded.

"Otou..san...I....I'm sorry...for...be...being hanyou." She had said, as her last words.

It was HE who should have been appologizing. He had not protected them. He had left them at the castle while he went to fight. He had never called her anything but 'hanyou', 'daughter', or 'wench'. He had caused years of suffering and didn't realize it until then. He had treated her almost as he had treated his brother, only it wasn't disgust. It wasn't hate. He loved the girl to death. He was merely trying to cling on to the last few ties to what he had been before Rin came along.

He was a fool.

A disgrace to his family name.

!!**!! Flashback !!**!!

He had never really gotten over Rin or Koori's death, he had loved Rin dearly. He took on mistresses after that, anyone who looked and acted like Rin or Kagome. He lay in the dust covered bed and closed his eyes, breathing in the very faint scent of Rin. Her scent remained in this room, a spell placed by a caring monk. Miroku. He had known one day he would miss his Rin, and placed it there a while after Kagome left. He missed Kagome's scent as well.

He closed his eyes, knowing the tears he desperately wanted to shed would not come. He had shed his last tears when he buried Koori and Rin's bodies. In Rin's garden, to the left of the castle, under Koori's favorite cherry tree. That is where he left those tears, and thats where they would remain. Buried with them.

Things to Ponder

How does Hiei know Kagome? Or does he at all, really? Did he gather information? If so, from who? Sesshoumaru in mourning? But wasn't he in love with Kagome or something? Did he truly love Rin? Why wasn't Kagome Higurashi's disappearing and the Shikon no Tama addressed earlier? Does Kurama know everything about Kagome, or is Youko just feeding him information? How long has Kurama been watching Kagome?
