Goodbye To You
Kagome packed up her stuff piece by piece slowly taking in the reality of what she was doing.
She heavily sighed ‘I’m really doing this, I’m leaving for good this time.’ The voice in the back of her mind reassured her ‘Indeed you are. Ya know you should have left when you broke up with Mr. Fluffy pants.’
Kagome nearly choked ‘That is not his name and maybe you’re right, I should have left.’
‘Damn right I am but I’m not going to get a big head about it.’
She smiled ‘Nice I have a cocky conscience.’
Kagome shook away the voice and turned toward the mantel, which held pictures though only a couple of months old still held some memories.
Of all the things I've believed in
I just want to get it over with
Tears form behind my eyes
But I do not cry
Counting the days that pass me by
I've been searching deep down in my soul
Words that I'm hearing are starting to get old
It feels like I'm starting all over again
The last three years were just pretend
And I said,
She grabbed all the pictures of her and Inuyasha taking them in her bedroom and setting them down on her floor.
Kagome slowly walked to her closet pulling the doors wide open.
She softly sighed as she quickly glanced back at the pictures before continuing to what she was doing.

Kagome reached up to her top shelve of her closet taking down a medium sized box. She set it down on the floor and opened it. Deep within the box were the memories of the past.
She smiled half-heartedly, her and Sesshoumaru’s first everything were in that box. The pictures frozen in time never to move again and those golden eyes that felt like they could see right into her soul.
Kagome wonder if that was the reason she was attracted to Inuyasha ‘Could that really be why?’ She shook her head ‘I don’t know and right now I’m not going to try to figure it out.’
Kagome ran her hand over the smooth glass of the picture setting back in the box along with the pictures of her and Inuyasha. She quickly put on the cover leaving it on her floor as she made her way to the living room.

By the time the sun started to set Kagome had all her stuff packed and put in her car. She smiled bitter sweetly as she looked around her now empty house remembering every single memory, the good and the bad.
Flash back
“Oh Sesshou look at this place!" Kagome ran toward the master bedroom "Look how big this room is. I love it!"
Sesshoumaru smirked "Yes I see but I do not understand why you don't just move in with me."
Kagome softly touched his cheek "Because my dear Sesshou we have only been going out for a few months now and it is to early to just jump into a big decision like that plus I like having my own space it's liberating."
He tried hard not to roll his eyes "Then my dear Gome if you want it you by all me should get it."
Kagome lugged in boxes "Come on Sesshou you can't possibly tired." She set down the box and pouted.
Sesshoumaru folded his arms "This Sesshoumaru did not say he was tired now did he."
Kagome eyebrow rose "Oh well then help me with the boxes dammit!"
He picked up one by the door and walked in and set it down “There.”
Kagome’s eye ticked “Not funny Sesshou.”
Sesshoumaru smirked “What do you mean Gome I was only helping.”
A pillow sailed through the air hitting him directly in the face wiping the grin off “Helping my ass.”
Kagome sat shakily on her couch wiping her tear stained cheeks ‘Enough I will not cry anymore.’
She stared at the phone ‘Maybe I should call him.’ Her hand reached for the receiver but she never picked it up “No!! I will not call him I did the right thing I may not see it right now but I did.”
Kagome knew she was just trying to convince herself that she indeed did the right thing though in the back of her mind it said a very different thing.
The Breath hitched when the phone began to ring. She silently began to panic ‘What if it’s him? Oh who am I kidding he’s doesn’t love me enough to call and tell me he was wrong or that we are meant to be together.’
Kagome could hear her voice come on “Hey I’m not home right now but please your name and number and I’ll get right back to you. Thanks.”
She waited for someone to answer but no one ever did all Kagome could hear was a dead silence and than a loud lick.
Kagome shrugged ‘Maybe it was a telemarketer. Yeah that’s who it probably was, a telemarketer.’
Tears slid down her swollen cheeks and than a loud sob. ‘Sesshou why couldn’t it be you instead.’
End flash backs

Kagome sighed softly ‘Sometimes it doesn’t turn out the way you want it’ Her eye’s suddenly got big as saucers ‘Oh Shit! Sango is going to be so pissed that I didn’t tell her sooner.’ Kagome grabbed her cell phone dialing her number. Thankfully Sango wasn’t home instead Kagome got her voice mail “Hey I’m not home so leave a message. Thanks!!”
Kagome gave a half smile “Hi Sango, It’s me Kagome. I just called to tell you that I’m moving back in with my mom, Souta and grandpa. I know your probably pissed that I didn’t call sooner but I knew if I did you would try to convince me not to and that’s not what I needed. I have to get away from it all and I can’t do that if I’m around here so I’m going home. Please Sango don’t tell any one that I’m gone not that anyone will care but still don’t. I’ll call you when I get settled in okay. I love ya bye.”
Kagome hung up the phone and slowly walked into her bedroom picking up the box on her floor as she walked back to her front door going straight to her waiting car.

She pulled out of her driveway glancing back at what was once her life. A single tear slid down her face and dropped into her lap as she said her final goodbye “Bye life I will miss ya but this has to be done. I will never forget the things that meant so much to me and….” Kagome stared at a beautiful necklace hanging off her mirror “And that someone I know I will always love.”
And when the stars fall
I will lie awake
