Chapter 4

Kagome woke up to somebody talking in her room. When she opened her eyes she saw Lilly sitting up in her crib playing with her teddy bear and a stuffed dog. She seemed to be making them talk to each other and she was talking loud enough to wake her up.

Kagome groaned and sat up and stretched while giving a big yawn. Lilly saw her mother sit up and stretch. " Hey mommy. I was being a good girl until you got up, see?" Lilly said giving her mother a smile.

" Yeah baby I see, but you were talking to loud and you kind of woke me up." Kagome said getting up and walking over to the crib to take Lilly out of it.

" I'm sorry mommy, I was trying to be good." Lilly said sticking her bottom lip out and looking down.

" Its okay baby. It was about time I got up anyways. Are you hungry?" Kagome asked her daughter going down the stairs and walking into the kitchen, while trying to not make any noise since Inuyasha was still sleeping.

" Yes." Lilly whispered to her mother knowing not to make a lot of noise since everybody was still asleep.

Kagome put Lilly down on the floor and told her to stay there. After Kagome set her down she went and got a bowl out and went into the pantry to get a box of cereal. After getting a new box of Fruit Loops out and pouring it into the bowl she went to get some milk out of the fridge to pour into the bowl with the cereal.

Kagome set it down on Lilly's high chair and turned around to pick up Lilly, but Lilly wasn't there. " Shit." Kagome whispered. ' Number one: Never leave a little child unattended.' Kagome thought to her self.

Kagome left the cereal on the chair and walked into the living room and stopped. There, Lilly stood on top of Inuyasha with a feather she must of gotten from the table with a fake bird on it. Lilly took the feather and started to run it across Inuyasha's nose. Kagome saw Lilly holding in a giggle as Inuyasha scratched he nose and turned his face away from Lilly.

Lilly tickled Inuyasha's nose again with the feather and sticking it up Inuyasha's nostril slightly before taking it back out and watching Inuyasha scratch his nose again with a snort. Kagome tried not to laugh her self. It was too funny to watch her daughter mess with Inuyasha.

Kagome silently walked over to Lilly and picked her up slowly off of Inuyasha's chest and walked silently back into the kitchen. Once in the kitchen Kagome set Lilly down in her high chair. " You better be glad he didn't wake up or you would be in trouble." Kagome said handing Lilly a spoon.

Lilly took the spoon and started feeding her self and giggled. " But, doggie is funny. I like doggie mommy." Lilly said filling her mouth with Fruit Loops.

Kagome smiled and kissed her daughters cheek. " I'm glad you do sweetheart." Kagome said before turning around and started to fix Inuyasha some breakfast, but still making sure Lilly didn't get into anything.

About an hour later Inuyasha came through the kitchen door and yawned while scratching his head. " I smell something good. What are you cooking wench." Inuyasha asked sitting down at the table. Lilly walked over to Inuyasha and pulled on his pant leg, asking to be pulled up. Inuyasha just rolled his eyes and picked her up and set her down on his lap.

Kagome smiled and handed him a plate of eggs, sausage, and a biscuit. " Here you go and don't make a mess." Kagome said while handing her daughter a plate of cut up apples.

Kagome went back to the sink to wash the dishes she used to cook everything with. " Where is your mother and the other two?" Inuyasha asked with a mouth full of eggs.

Lilly scrunched up her nose. " Ewww, doggie close mouth and swallow befow talkin. Nasty doggie." Lilly said sticking another apple slice in her mouth.

Inuyasha just stuck his tounge out at Lilly before swallowing the rest of the eggs in his mouth down. " They went to visit my aunt. She is going to have a baby soon and she wants my mother to be there. I didn't want to go because me and her don't get along and I would do nothing but get in the way, so I decided to stay and take care of the house. They should only be gone for a couple of days." Kagome said after a giggle from watching Lilly get on to Inuyasha.

Its not everyday you see a little girl get on to a grown man about his manners. It would most likely be the other way around. Lilly was a smart little girl to know these kind of things and she is only three too.

" Inuyasha, Lilly is right about what she said. Swallow before saying something. I know what your eating so I don't need to see it in your mouth." Kagome said handing Inuyasha another serving of eggs.

Inuyasha just mummbeld, " What ever." before wolfing down another helping of eggs.

Lilly tried to snatch a piece of egg of off Inuyasha's plate, but Inuyasha popped her hand. Lilly snatched her hand back and held it with her other hand. " Mommy, this mutt hit mwy han." Lilly said pointing to Inuyasha to get him into trouble.

Inuyasha just glared at Lilly and Lilly smiled back at Inuyasha. " Inuyasha, you didn't have to pop her, you could have just said no." Kagome said taking Inuyasha's empty plate and Lilly's too and putting it into the sink. " Why don't you take Lilly into the back yard and let her play. Don't let her wonder off and get hurt Inuyasha." Kagome said starting on the dishes.

" I won't, I know how to watch a runt. Come on you demon child." Inuyasha said pulling on Lilly's hand and walking her outside.

" I'm not a demon." Lilly said sticking her tounge out at him.

" Yeah, but you act like a evil demon child, so I'm calling you that." Inuyasha said walking her to a swing set Amy bought for her when she found out Lilly was coming to the family. Once Lilly was on a swing Inuyasha went behind and slightly started pushing her.

Inuyasha kept pushing her on the swing and Lilly was having a blast. Kagome came out a few minutes later after she got finished with the dishes to come and watch Lilly and Inuyasha play with the swing.

Lilly saw Kagome walk out of the house and she started waving with one hand and used the other to hold herself on the swing. Inuyasha just kept pushing Lilly on the swing. Kagome came and took a lawn chair and sat down and watched the two play with the swing set.

After a few minutes Lilly jumped off and ran to Kagome and climbed in her lap to sit. Inuyasha took another lawn chair and set it beside Kagome's and sat down with her. It started getting late so they sat and watched the sun go down.

" It pwetty mommy. Just like you." Lilly said giving her mother a hug.

Kagome smiled at her daughter. " I know, it is pretty and its pretty just like you." Kagome said tapping Lilly's nose and giving her a hug in return.

Inuyasha just rolled his eyes and crossed his arms at the two. " Would you stop being so immature Inuyasha. " Kagome scolded Inuyasha.

Inuyasha just looked at Kagome. " I'm not immature. Its not my fault you baby her." Inuyasha said.

" If you haven't noticed...she is a baby." Kagome said to Inuyasha.

" What ever." Inuyasha said looking the other way.

" Mommy, doggie is bein bad. He should go to bed ealy." Lilly said giving Inuyasha a cute little smirk.

" Actually Lilly thats a good idea. Inuyasha, your being bad and you should go to bed with out supper." Kagome said to Inuyasha.

Inuyasha looked at Kagome like she was crazy. " Look wench, your not my mother so stop treating me like it. Ever since Lilly came you've been treating me like I'm nothing but a child. Well, I'm not." Inuyasha said stomping off into the house leaving Kagome alone in the yard.

Kagome just watched Inuyasha stomp in the house. " I was only playing with him. I didn't know he was taking it for real." Kagome said standing up still holding Lilly. " Come on Lilly, I need to have a talk with Inuyasha. Its about time you go to bed anyways." Kagome said.

Kagome walked inside the house and brought Lilly into the bathroom to give her a bath and brush her teeth. Once Lilly was done Kagome took her inside her room and put her down inside the crib. Kagome kissed her goodnight and tucked her in before leaving and shutting the door slightly.

Kagome walked down stairs into the living room where Inuyasha was sitting down watching TV with his arms crossed and with an angry expression on his face. Kagome came and sat down beside him and sighed.

" Inuyasha, don't be mad with me. I was only joking with you. I'm not trying to treat you like a child at all." Kagome said looking at Inuyasha begging for his forgiveness with her eyes.

Inuyasha just sighed and looked into her eyes and smiled. " Fine, but I'm still kind of mad at you wench." Inuyasha said and uncrossed his arms.

Kagome smiled and gave Inuyasha a hug. Inuyasha stood still for a moment, but then he returned the hug. Kagome took a blanket beside them and leaned into Inuyasha as they layed together on the sofa and went to sleep still embraced in each others arms.
