Lost Time and Bloody Betrayals

Chapter Four

Kagome saw the well coming into view, her hopes were high on going home. Maybe she just needed to give it time to juice up. She wasn't sure how far in the past she'd been taken. Her guess a few more centuries but why? She wasn't needed here for anything. Her senses told her she was being followed by the fox. He'd been hanging around for the last three days but never approaching.

To make matters worse she only had one pack of ramen left. She hadn't planned on having to hunt for herself. Inuyasha and the others had taken care of their meals. The ramen was just something she'd brought to appease the hanyou. More of a treat than a provision, now all that was almost gone. What if she couldn't get back home? She had no way of killing anything, no means to feed herself.

Pushing the negative thoughts aside she approached the doorway to her home. Her eyes stared down into the blackness, it looked dismal. She stood on the edge knowing she was being watched. Not like she cared, hopefully she'd go through. A deep breath and she jumped down once more.

The ground met her hard jolting the nerves in her legs. "Shit." She kicked the side of the well, why wouldn't it work? Had Souta shoved a tree down the other side? Had a plane crashed into the wellhouse? Despair filled her, she was stuck here. How was she going to survive? Her arrows wouldn't last forever and she couldn't shoot anything with them for food. It would be a waste of arrows.

"Why do you return?"

"Not you again, don't you have anything better to do than to pester me?" She sat down on the ground, not sure what to do now. There was no going home.

"What are you doing?"

"I was trying to go home if you must know. Why are you following me anyways?" She looked up at him, his golden eyes peering down at her.

"You live in a well?"

"Yes, I live in a well. See that corner there is my bedroom. That corner there is the kitchen, oh and that one there is the bathroom." She heard the growl coming from him at her mockery. "How about being nice and helping me out." He just stood there glaring at her. Seeing no help would be offered she started climbing back out.

"I take it you have no place to go."

"No, but thats none of your business." She dusted off the back of her skirt and noticed how his eyes followed the movement of her hand.

"I have a proposition for you."

"I don't think so buddy, you can forget it." She saw his eyes snap up to meet hers once more.

"Hmph, I wasn't suggesting that. I have no interest in you for that, I have no desire to bed a human." He saw the anger flare in her eyes. "Since you aided us the other day I'm willing to give you sanctuary until you can find another place to go."

"What's the catch?"

"You will come back to our base of operation. My men will not bother you, my orders are law. The only thing you will have to do in return in the basic female chores."

"You mean you want a maid." She wasn't sure if she should be insulted or greatful. The thought of being a maid was distasteful but better than playing some man's whore. "How do I know you or your men want attack me the first chance you get?"

"As I have stated, I have no interest in you. My men will be told, to touch you will be punishable by death. They will find their pleasure elsewhere as they have always done. You can take me up on my offer or live in your well."

Kagome weighed her option for a few moments, none of his men had actually ever attacked her. They seemed more like thieves than killers. Where else could she go? Maybe after a few weeks the well would work again. "Alright, on one more condition. You can't take my belongings, they are mine."

"Very well. How would you like me to carry you?"

"If you have to then I'll take your back." She watched him lean down then climbed on. He kept his hands near her knees. "Oh yeah if any of your men do touch me, I'll kill them."

"Noted."


The building wasn't that large and a little run down from the looks of the outside. Her eyes roamed over the place and she groaned. The garbage was coming out the front door and even she could smell it. How the hell did they live here? It was a pigsty and he expected her to clean it? He deposited her when they arrived. She gawked in horror at the mess, it was horrid.

"Keh, I'm in hell." A rat came running out the door squeeking as a youkai came running out chasing it. Maybe playing the whore would be better. She didn't want to see the inside of the place, nasty. He began walking inside so she had no choice but to follow.

Visions of taking one of her arrows and plunging it into her own heart filled her head. How the hell was she suppose to clean this up? There was shit everywhere, some of it actually that. Seemed they didn't know how to go outside. To prove her right one youkai went into a corner pulling out his dick and pissing against the wall. Horror at his actions caused her to speak, "If I was you I'd be ashamed to pull that thing out in public." His head snapped around to look at her. Anger filled his eyes at seeing the human girl.

She looked him over, he wasn't as cute as the fox but just as tall. His black hair fell to about midback, he had horns on his head as well. Black eyes glared at her as he approached, she smiled at him. "Might wanna think about a haircut also. You can't get away with it as well as the fox can." A chuckle was heard from behind her.

"What the hell is a human bitch doing here? What happened to not bringing any women to this place?" Hatred burned in his eyes, aimed directly at her.

"She is not here for pleasure, I am repaying a debt."

"Debt my ass Youko, she will be nothing but trouble. Send her away now before she gets hurt." His eyes clearly said he'd be the one to hurt her.

"You mean before one of you get hurt." She hadn't done anything to him so he had no right for being so hostile. What an asshole!

His hand went for the sword at his side. Youko's voice stopped him, "Don't, she has my word of protection. She is not to be harmed by anyone, is that understood?" The man didn't seem to pleased at his announcement. "Assemble the men for me now. What is your name girl?"

"Kagome." She stood there beside him as a dozen men were seen entering the room. Some looked at her in recognition and suprise. Nothing was said as he told them what she'd be doing there and his warning of not touching her. Her eyes scanned all the men, most of them looked indifferent to the idea. A few looked pleased and one looked pissed. Really what was that guy's problem?

They scrambled away after the announcement leaving her alone with him. Youko turned to look at her, "I'm afraid there is only three rooms here. Mine and the other two are divided between the men, so you will have to make you a place out in the main room. I will provide you with bedding shortly unless you would like to share mine."

"Dream on, not going to happen." She looked at the mess in front of her and sighed. "Guess I better start cleaning if I don't feel like sleeping on junk."
