Falling Out The Sky

A/N: The pairing will be a Kag/Hiei. So you understand while they are merged it is only one person. Think of it as one person that sees herself as being two people and with two souls. So when she thinks to herself, she has two voices. As I said it is a Kag/Hiei pairing, so that should state that they won't stay merged. Bit of a spoiler but oh well. Don't think most want to see Hiei doing someone that is part of his sister, so I won't go there.

Chapter Four

Kagome scanned the area once more and sat down on her perch. No one payed her much attention since her barrier was still in place. Her eyes fell on the small girl that was talking to a very plain human male. The koorime known as Yukina had no idea that she was the object of scrutiny.

She watched for several minutes while the small girl laughed seemingly happy. A few others came to join them, all unaware. She scanned them all over, two of the males were powerful. Her eyes landed on the first guy in green. Koenma's latest prodigy.

Then they fell on the other male, he was extremely good looking. Yet his aura was off, he appeared human but couldn't be. Kagome felt the voice respond to her thoughts, they both agreed on that point.

She relaxed as she watched, taking in the peaceful day. She'd had two months to get use to her new body and her now constant company. It wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. The merger combined everything but their souls. They shared memories, feelings and desires. It took time to understand that they were now just one person. One main personality existed controlled by two souls. Every once in a while traits of one would be noticable. Yet the mind saw itself as two beings but one person.

"We should head out." Kagome got up and jumped down. She gave one last look towards the other girl. It was time to head into the Makai, both wanted revenge.

Kagome examined the large city before making her approach. Anger filled her as memories shot through her head. No one noticed her at first, her barrier still up. Her eyes took in all the buildings, a floating city. Youkai that thought themselves too good to live among others. Women who thought themselves better than others.

She headed for the large building in the center, the most powerful auras were inside. A few women saw her and ran as she approached. She was an unwelcomed guest, one that didn't look happy.

She pushed the door open to walk inside a great hall. Several older women were sitting around a fire talking. Seemed she had interrupted a meeting, "Sorry, if we are crashing the party."

"Who are you? Outsiders aren't welcome here." The oldest of the women spoke, her voice cold.

"Our name isn't important but we have a few questions. You will answer them." She walked further into the room.

"Leave now or I will have you removed."

"We'd like to see you try." Several women came running into the room, she looked them over. "Pathetic." They ran at her only to hit the barrier and be thrown back. "Now tell me who was responsible for the death of Hina's son."

"What! You came to ask that." The old crone shrieked. "I am the one that ordered his death. He was an abomination. The Forbidden Child had to be punished for what he was."

"Thats all we needed to know." Kagome seperated the distance between them. She rammed her hand in the woman's mouth tearing the jaw down as she grabbed ahold of her tongue. The muscle was torn from her lips. The others began screaming and footsteps were heard as they ran.

The old hag's eyes widened in fear as she fell to the ground. A look of pain crossed what was left of her face as the young woman rammed a hand in her stomach. Blood oozed out the hole in her gut. She felt the claws wrapping around her female organs and pulling. Her head fell over as they were forcefully removed from her body.

Kagome stood up still holding onto the womb in her left hand. She unsheathed the Tetsusiaga with the right. She made her way outside in the open and shouted. "Leave your city before it comes crashing down."

Several of the women stopped to stare at her in disbelief, some in denial. She forced the fang to transform. "You have ten minutes to get off this rock before it falls. This is your last warning." She dropped her barrier finally letting them sense the power. Everyone began moving at once. Panic filled the air as they watched the girl begin to levitate several feet above the floating island.

Kagome waited until she no longer sensed any life on the floating rock. She unleashed the power down the middle. It took several swings before she heard the remaining rock begin to crack, splitting.

Hiei stepped out the portal before the others, he had to see it for himself. Koenma had called them in his office saying that there had been a disturbance in the Makai that needed attending to. He hadn't believed his ears when they were informed someone had attacked the koorime island and that it now lay on the floor of the Makai.

"Unbelievable." Kurama muttered beside him.

Hiei looked over at the destruction and the remains. The large city had been torn in two landing onto the ground. What could cause it? Hundreds of koorime were standing on the ground crying loooking at their lost city.

"Wow, what could bring something that big out of the sky?" Yusuke asked.

A woman appeared before them suddenly. She spoke softly as she looked them over, "She shouldn't have played God." Her hand came from behind her back, tossing something to land at Yusuke's feet. They looked up and she was gone.

Hiei got a good look at her seconds before she moved. She looked right at him and smiled. The smile looked familiar somehow. He looked down at what was thrown. "Hn."

"Gross what is that?" Yusuke kicked it aside.

"Where did she go?" Kurama looked around but couldn't sense anything.

Hiei didn't answer, his eyes on the koorime walking towards him now. He left the group standing there and walked off. She stopped when he appeared before her and went to her knees. "Who did it?"

"A girl. I don't know who she was." He made to turn away her words stopped him. "Wait there's something you should know. I was in the hall, I heard everything that was spoken. She demanded to know who was responsible for the death of Hina's son. Then she killed the elder."

"Why aren't most of you dead?"

Rui's head turned back to the fallen city, "She warned us to get out, she attacked no one else."

"I see." Hiei walked back across the field, he felt the accusing stares and heard the whispers. They were blaming him for the destruction more than likely. Questions entered his mind as he joined the other two. "The girl did it."

"You mean the bad guy just came and left."

Kagome watched from her perch on the tree some distance away. It would figure Koenma would send his lapdog out to investigate. Every youkai knew who Yurameshi was, most didn't like him. A scowl crossed her face as she watched the smallest man walk over and talk to one of the koorime. He was the same one that injured her.

She didn't like the fact that Yukina was somehow connected to the detective. The red head was standing next to him once more. Her eyes caught when the small man walked back over to stand next to them speaking.

He looked her way suddenly, he had to see her. His eyes widened as he spotted her, a smile grazed her lips. He took a step forward so she left. She ran another destination in mind, it was time to find Naraku.
