The Match

Chapter Four

Keiko wasn't sure which of the three was louder, a scream tore through the crowd. Okay, Kagome was the loudest. At least Yusuke wouldn't complain later about her bringing the girl along. She seemed to fit in with the two males. Keiko didn't mind the fights as long as she wasn't watching Yusuke. Even she found herself getting into it. She usually sat back and watched quietly, yet Kagome soon had her up there yelling with the rest of them.

The crowd was going wild as the fight continued, there was still two more matches and then the main event to come. Kagome laughed as the losing opponent got mad and started hitting below the belt. She felt the other man's pain when a foot connected with his groin.

"Ouch." Yusuke felt his balls shrink up at seeing the other man fall in pain.

"Man, that was a low blow." Kuwabara cringed, no man liked to be kicked there.

"Oh yeah, kick him again." Keiko yelled suprising everyone.

"Hey where's your sympathy, that shit hurts you know." Yusuke glared at her.

"I don't think she would know, somehow I don't see Keiko with balls. Then again she does seem to wear the pants." Kagome sat down and began humming to herself.

"I wear the pants here and I'm the one with the balls." Yusuke informed her.

"Watch your mouth Yusuke."

"Alright, alright but she started it." He sat down grumbling, something about bosey females.

A few minutes later the announcer called for a thirty minute break. Kagome was parched, people were leaving their seats to hit the stands. "I'm going to get something to drink, anyone want to come with me?"

"I'll go, want anything you guys?" Kuwabara stood up.

"Something to drink would be nice." Yusuke sat down and reached out to grope Keiko's ass.

"Stop, jerk." She turned around and popped him across the face. "I'll take something also, all this yelling is making me thirsty."

"Alright, let's go before the lines get too long." Kuwabara walked ahead of Kagome clearing the way.

Even with Kuwabara walking in front of her, she was being shoved around by people. It was hard to move, seemed everyone had the idea of getting something to snack on. She stopped suddenly when a massive group of teens walked in front of her, so she waited for them to pass by. It took over two minutes for them to clear; by then he was way ahead of her. She didn't even try to call out, he wouldn't hear over all the noise.

Instead she tried to keep an eye on his head, he was taller than most of the people there. As she continued to make her way through he got further ahead. A minute later she could no longer see his head, he must have turned down one of the halls.

She thought of just heading to one of the stands and buying the drinks but he might get the same idea. No need to waste money, she'd just try to find him.

Kuwabara spotted Kurama and Hiei at one of the stands and ran over assuming that Kagome was still behind him. He stopped beside the two, "Hey guys, mind if we join you? So we don't have to wait long."

"Hello, Kuwabara." Kurama greeted him with a smile.

"Who is we? Are you so sad that you have to imagine a date?" Hiei remarked, he was just glad that he didn't have to watch his sister with the idiot.

"Watch it shrimp, I was refering to me and Kagome."

Kurama looked around, he recognized the name but didn't see the girl. "I don't see anyone either Kuwabara. Unless she is stashed behind you."

He spun around looking dumbstruck, "Okay now where did she go?"

"Pathetic, it must be sad being you. Your company ran from you the first opportunity she got." Hiei snickered.

"First of all she isn't my date, she's a friend. Second of all I just lost her."

"Wait isn't that her walking this way." Kurama tilted his head, he was sure it was her. The girl was the same one from the library yesterday, she wasn't one you would forget.

"Yeah, hey Kagome." He started waving his arms in the air to get her attention.

Kagome sighed in relief when she spotted him, she'd been about to head back without him. If another man passed her and grabbed her ass she was going to scream. True the crowd was thick but still, the nerve of some of the men walking around. It was mostly men here to make it worse. She started to make her way over to him, pushing through the crowd of people. Finally, she made it to him. She ignored the other two men beside him, "You are walking behind me on the way back. I swear I'm going to kill the next man that makes a grab for my ass."

"Uh, sorry. Thought you were behind me."

"No problem. Glad I found you." She smiled up at him, he seemed upset.

"Nice to see you again." Kurama made his presence known when she continued to ignore him.

Kagome suddenly realized that Kuwabara had been talking to the two. Then she looked at the red head, "Oh, look its my boyfriend. Good to see you again."

"Yes, sorry about that."

"No need to apologize, I made sure to tell Eri that you meant nothing to me. So now she can feel free to stalk you." She saw him cringe and laughed. Her eyes went to the other man, lord he was small. Very cute but short and he didn't look too friendly. He was also a youkai, she wasn't suprised though.

Hiei looked her over, she appeared to be nothing more than an average female. Yet something told him it wasn't the case. He'd only seen a few human females he would consider attractive. Keiko was one of them. But while Keiko was pretty this girl was beautiful, stunning. So what the hell was she doing with the baka? Then again he said it wasn't a date. He saw Kurama trying to coax the girl into a conversation using the charm he was famous for. The girl merely answered him, not falling for it. Hiei liked her already.

Kagome stood with the three guys while waiting in line. She was ready to sit down for a bit, she also starting to feel uncomfortable underneath the one man's gaze. Both youkai were staring at her, she began to wonder if her ward had fallen off. Yet her hand went up to touch the necklace placed around her throat. Nope, it was still there. Kuwabara on the other hand talked to her, he was turning out to be pleasant company.

They ordered their drinks, Kuwabara told the two to meet them outside after the fight was over. Kagome carried the drink holder on the way back. She smiled as he walked behind her, he had a hand on her shoulder as they walked. She knew it was to make sure no one bothered her, but to all the males walking past it looked like more.

Kurama watched the two walk away, his interest had been stirred.

"Wieghing your chances fox?" Hiei asked.

"Maybe, blame me?"

"Hn. You can try but she didn't seem the least bit interested. How does it feel to know that a female payed more attention to that fool than you?"

"I'm use to it, your sister does it all the time."

A growl was heard from the fire youkai.

Kagome was beyond enjoying herself, her and Yusuke had a bet going on the main match. Kuwabara and Keiko sat back and watched as they cheered for their sides. Kagome started shouting when the other guy went down. "Oh yeah, that's going to leave a mark."

"That was a cheap shot."

"Oh, he so went down." Kagome silently counted with the ref. and groaned when the man got back up. "What the hell, stay your ass down."

"Alright, that's it. GET OFF YOUR ASS!" Yusuke yelled out causing people to turn around. He couldn't lose this bet, not to a girl. He watched as soon as his guy got up, the other went for him. The kick slammed into his jaw causing blood to spew out his mouth.

"Yeah, knock his fucking teeth out." Kagome blushed when she got a few looks. Maybe being around Inuyasha for almost two years had left a permanent mark on her personality.

Kurama and Hiei looked up from their seats, they could see the two standing up yelling like idiots. Kurama had to laugh while Hiei just stared. "Seems Yusuke has found a new best friend."

"Hn. Maybe Keiko should be concerned."

"I doubt it Hiei, she isn't Yusuke's type." Kurama turned back around to finish watching the fight.

"You mean you don't want her to be his type. It would mean more competition for you."

"More? Is that your way of saying you are interested in her as well?"

"Don't be foolish."
