The Damage
*Disclaimer* I don't own Inuyasha.
Kagome sat on the edge of the bed thinking. After Inuyasha(Naraku) had left she realized the truth. It hadn't been Inuyasha at all. She had slept with Naraku. What made her feel worse was the fact that she enjoyed it. ' What will Inuyasha think if he finds out?' Kagome was in deep thought when the door opened. Naraku walked in smiling at her.
" How are you feeling my mate?"
" I am fine and don't call me your mate. You took advantage of me! " she screamed.
Naraku just laughed at her. Her brown eyes had such fire in them. He loved that about her.
" Yes but you liked it and you know it. Now you have betrayed Inuyasha and he will never forgive you. You belong to me."
" I will never belong to you. I love him and I always will. You will never be his equal."
" Don't test my patience my miko. I can still kill you even though you are my mate."
" Then go ahead. There are worse things than being dead. Like being your mate."
" You will eat those words. If I can't have Kikyo than I will have you. I will not let that hanyou have both of you two." he said as he stormed out of the room.
Once again it all came down to Kikyo. Kagome was sick and tired of being put second after Kikyo. And to make matters worse she knew that Naraku was right. Inuyasha would never want her now that she was mated to Naraku. All hope was lost. She just had to accept her fate.
Inuyasha and the gang had been traveling all day and night when Sango told him that they had to rest. They wouldn't do Kagome any good if they were to tired to rescue her once they found her. Sango, Miroku, Kirara, and Shippo sat around the fire talking about what to do next. Inuyasha was up in a tree thinking. ' I'm so sorry Kagome. I've been such an idiot. I didn't realize that the love we share is different form what I feel for Kikyo. If that love was pure than Naraku would never have been able to break our trust.' A lonely tear slid down his cheek and fell all the way to the ground. Inuyasha looked up at the stars thinking about one thing and one thing only.
" Kagome, don't you dare give up on me." he said to himself.
That morning Inuyasha was the first to wake. He looked up at the blue sky and saw Kikyo's soul collectors. He jumped down from the tree and ran in the forest after them. It did not take long to find her. She was sitting next to a tree waiting for him.
" I knew you would come. You have no choice but to come to me when I call." Kikyo said.
Inuyasha looked down at the ground. It was Kikyo who gave Naraku the shards that made him strong enough to take his Kagome. He looked up at Kikyo and shook his head.
" You are wrong Kikyo. I have a choice. I will not keep my promise to you. Stay away from me and never go near Kagome again." he said.
" What? You choose that weak girl over me?"
" I sure do. She is more pure than you will ever be. She loves me and will never stop no matter what. For that I am willing to die for her. Not you!"
Inuyasha turned and walked away. As he was walking he could hear Kikyo calling to him.
" Inuyasha! INUYASHA!!"
Inuyasha made it back to the camp as the others were packing up the stuff. Suddenly a wirlwind came towards them stopping to reveal Kouga standing with his arms crossed. He looked around the camp and saw Inuyasha.
" Knew I would find you dog shit. I could smell you a mile away. Where is my woman? Where is Kagome?" Kouga asked looking at Inuyasha.
Everybody just looked at each other not sure of what they were going to tell him.
