Win Me That Please

Chapter Three

Kagome and Sango walked around for the first hour or so checking out all the rides. Sango saw a few she wouldn't get on no matter what Kagome said. True heights didn't scare her but hanging upside down with just a thin metal bar holding you into place was scary. Being in the air had never scared her but then she had Kirara to make sure she didn't become friends with the dirt. Kagome assured her it was all safe not like it mattered. She still wasn't getting on the damned thing. The first ride for them turned out to be a roller coaster called Hell's Hill. It was the biggest this year, many waited in line to try it out. A man had stamped ink on their hands after they paid a certain price. They waited in line which wasn't that long as of yet.

"This is going to be so much fun. I believe that first drop is suppose to be over 80 ft." Kagome watched as the car started its track. Sango felt her stomach drop watching the people seated in the strange contraption go down a sudden decline screaming.

"Are you sure thats safe Kagome?"

"Yes, we will be fine, you'll love it I promise." Kagome smiled. She turned when she heard someone scream behind them. The voice loud causing several others to turn.

"Lets go on that one Yurameshi. Wow that looks so cool." Kuwabara pointed towards the long line. He didn't seem to notice the stares he got. Both boys got in line waiting to get on. Yukina and Kieko were suppose to meet them later on in the evening. Until then they were free to do as they pleased. Yusuke was wearing his usual white tshirt and jeans while Kuwabara was wearing jeans with a yellow shirt that made him look even more hideous. (I'm not sure if that possible though)

Yusuke got in line just to shut his best friend up. He got stares on his own he didn't need the big lug yelling causing a scene. He loved the poor guy, it was true but he was as dumb as a pile of rocks. Yusuke knew he didn't have much for intellegence either but he had some common sense. It had been over a month since returning from his three years in the demon world. Keiko and he had started right where they'd left off. She'd been his best friend growing up and was now his fiance. Lately he'd been wondering if he was making a mistake. It wasn't like he didn't love the girl but sometimes he wondered if he was in love with her. Everyone thought they should be together so he went with it after all he was Yusuke. He didn't have a clue!

The line moved up some after taking on new riders. He felt an elbow dig into his side and turned to glare at the red head. "What was that for?"

"Look, pretty girls." Kuwabara said loud enough for the two girls to hear.

"Like we don't see plenty of them." Yusuke was getting annoyed quickly. Having your friend point out hot chicks was one thing, but loud enough for the object of your scrutiny to hear is something else. "Why don't you speak louder next time, I don't think they heard you."

"Huh, uh sorry."

Kagome and Sango heard the loud mouth but didn't turn around. Sango just smiled, "I see most men here are just as bad as Miroku."

"Some are a lot worse." Kagome eyed the roller coaster. They would be in the next batch to ride. She heard the loudmouth being scolded by his friend and laughed. Neither girl had turned to take a good look yet. All Kagome could see earlier was someone's back and orange/red hair done in a bad hair-do. Or should that be a hair don't.

Sango almost squeeked when the ride pulled in front of them to release its passengers. They were third in line to get a seat. Kagome grabbed her hand pulling her to the front of the ride. She'd been about to sit in the front when Sango's "No Way" stopped her.

"Okay, fine the second seat." Kagome pulled her into the second seat. When both we seated they lowered the bar and locked it into place. People were filling in behind them, no one seemed to want the front. "Looks like we might get front row anyways." Seconds after she spoke two males parked themselves in the seat. Kagome recognized the bad hair don't. She didn't get to look at their faces yet. The big loud one sat in front of Sango. The young miko laughed, "Well atleast your view will be blocked now."

Sango felt her face flush when the male in front of her stiffened his shoulders at hearing the comment. "I don't think this view is any better though." She retorted.

The guy in front of Kagome burst out laughing causing them to halt their debate. "They got you Kuwabara."

"Shut up, Yurameshi." He growled. The ride clicked signaling it was about to move. It slowly made its way up the first incline inch by slow inch.

The man sitting in front of Kagome turned his head slightly to the right, enough to glance at Sango. She blushed as he eyed her face. He had the most intense eyes she'd ever seen. She stared back feeling drawn to him. A small smile made its way to his mouth.

Yusuke found himself curious about the 'two pretty girls' Kuwabara had pointed out earlier. Now with them strapped in place behind him, it gave him a chance to see what his friend had seen. Turning his head slightly to the right he felt his breath catch. He'd have to smack the idiot later. The girl wasn't pretty, she was beautiful. He caught her eyes for a moment and found himself smiling. He found himself getting lost in her depths. That was until Kuwabara screamed into his ear, jerking his attention back to the present. They had reached the top and were going over.

Sango heard the guy scream and prepared herself. The machinery they were in jerked as it headed down. She felt herself go down with everyone else. When they reached they bottom she almost turned around to make sure she hadn't left her stomach up at the top. The ride proceeded and she found herself having fun. Kagome screamed in her ear as they went upside down. Seemed Kagome and the loudmouth were having a yelling contest. Sango had dibs on the man seated in front of her. Within minutes the ride was over leaving the girls' hair a little more dishevelled.

They came to a halt back at the starting point. Kagome and Sango climbed out laughing neither payed attention to the other passengers. Kagome grabbed her hand leading her to the next ride. The ex-exterminator turned to give the young man one last look before being led off. He didn't see it due to him picking on his friend.

Kagome chose to take her on a ride called The Zipper. Only a few people were in line so they made it on the next turn. Sango let Kagome get them settled while she looked around. Out the corner of her eye she spotted the same young man again. For some odd reason she felt disappointed when a young girl about her and Kagome's age ran up to him, kissing him full on the mouth. A sigh escaped her lips and she berated herself for even caring. Her thoughts suddenly returned to Miroku. Why was she looking at another man when her heart still belonged to him?

The ride began and Sango soon found herself yelling with her friend. For the next three hours they ran from ride to ride, trying everything they could. They were getting off another roller coaster when Souta came bounding up to them.

"Hey sis, will you do something for me? PLEASE." Souta had his hands in a begging position.

"What?" Kagome wasn't sure she liked the way he was begging. It usually meant trouble for her when he did.

"There's a booth, that has an awesome stuffed animal. I kind of promised Nina that I'd get it for her but I can't win. I figured you or Sango might be able to do it. She's over with her friend's eating at the moment so can you do it for me?"

"What kind of booth is it?" Sango asked.

"You have throw these hoops around spinning pegs. Come see." They followed the hyper boy. Within minutes they were standing in front of the man. The object was to throw little hoops no bigger than a wrist around pegs the size of a finger. What made it hard was the fact that all five pegs were spinning on a round table very fast. "See." The sign said you got 10 rings for five, 20 rings for ten (dollars? I'm not sure what its called over there). To win the prize Souta wanted you had to land atleast fifteen of the hoops.

Kagome gave an odd expression, "Good luck, Sango."

Sango smiled. Somehow she'd known she'd be stuck trying to play the game. Souta paid the man and handed her the small rings. People waiting to play the game gathered around to watch. Kagome made Souta and the others give the girl room. Sango concentrated for several minutes on the speed and movement of the table. She also needed to get the feel for the rings she was about to toss. Being able to hit a fast demon with her Hiraikotsu was no easy task, so this would be child's play. She watched the table take another complete spin and let a ring fly. It landed soundly on the peg, causing Souta to jump for joy. Trying to focus on the task at hand she blacked everything out. One by one she threw rings, each landing with precise accuracy. Once the fiftenth one landed Kagome grabbed her arm. "You did it, Sango."

The man behind the booth had watched in awe as the girl performed. At most people usually got one or two rings to land. He'd never seen anyone get all of them in a row. Souta pointed out the prize, he hugged Sango thanking her. "Thanks, Sis. You don't know how much this means to me."

Sango felt tears come to her eyes as he called her that. "Your welcome, Souta. Better go give it to your girl." The boy ran off leaving them alone. A girl's voice broke into her thoughts.

"Yusuke, can you win me one also. If that girl can do it I'm sure you can." Sango turned to see the boy from earlier standing off to the side with his girfriend. She was very pretty. 'Him again.'

Kagome grabbed her hand leading her off. "Lets go get something to eat. I'm starving, a slice of pizza sounds good."

They were sitting at a plastic table with an umbrella over head to block out the sun. Kagome had ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza for both of them. She didn't know if Sango would like all that extra stuff yet. Sitting down now to relax and catch their breath. "Hows the pizza?"

"This is very good." Sango sighed thinking of the home she'd left behind. "Kagome, I know I have never said this but I'm glad I got stuck here with you." Kagome waited for her to continue. "I wish I could have seen to a proper burial for everyone but maybe it is better this way. I don't think I could have gotten through it without you."

"I know. I feel the same way. I'm sure Kaede found out what happened and took care of everything. I'm glad you are here with me." Kagome took her hand and accidently got some grease on Sango's hand. "Oops, sorry. Forgot that these things tend to be a little greasy." She went back to booth to grab a few more napkins. As she reached out to grab the white paper her hand brushed into another hand also reaching for them. A jolt shot through her spine at the contact causing her to pull back. Kagome glanced over to see it's owner. A young male with long red hair, eyes the color of emeralds and a sexy smile stood there looking at her. "Sorry."

"No, pardon me. Go ahead, I insist." He stated.

"Thanks," she grabbed a few napkins feeling a blush rise to her cheeks. 'Ok, why am I blushing at another guy when I'm still in love with Inuyasha? Well, he is hot. Okay hot isn't the word for him, but still didn't explain why I'm blushing like an idiot. Pull it together Kagome.' Walking away before she further made an ass out of herself.

Sango glanced up when Kagome sat down looking like she'd ran a race and won. "You okay?"

"Yep, just peachy. Here's some napkins."

Sango wasn't going to let it pass. "What happened?" She looked up at the place Kagome had just vacated but saw nothing.

"Nothing, really." She waved her hands. "What do you say about checking some of the exhibits out while we wait for our food to digest?" At Sango's nod she felt relief. No more questions for awhile atleast.
