The Arrival of the Western Lord

A/N: Refer to Important notes.

"Sesshoumaru-sama! Am I pretty?" Rin asked, batting her long black eyelashes. The little girl had danced and played almost the whole trip to the village, but Sesshoumaru was not bothered by her. He never was bothered by her prattle, and sometimes compared it to music.

"Rin, you should not ask such superficial questions." Was the quiet response. Rin stopped dancing and stared at Sesshoumaru, pouting. "What's 'super fishy' questions?" Sesshoumaru chuckled and continued down the path to see just how badly injured his half-brother was. His paced quickened when he sniffed and the air was heavy with the scent of Inuyasha's blood.

~In the village~

"Mother....mother....mother," Inuyasha moaned and flailed his arms. Sango and Kaede were in the process of changing his wounds when Inuyasha suddenly started flopping around, reopening the cuts and knocking things over.

"He is experiencing dementia! Restrain him!" Kaede yelled at Sango and motioned for each of them to take one of his arms.

"NOOOOOOOOOOO!" Inuyasha screamed and took a poision clawed swipe at Sango, barely missing her arm. "Please don't hurt me! I didn't mean to! SESSHOUMARU!!!" Inuyasha screamed and then his body tensed up and he fell back on the bed, unconcious. Sango and Kaede, both tired and sweaty stared at each other and then silently began the task of again cleaning the wounds and making Inuyasha comfortable. Shippo and Miroku were outside pacing as Kilala meweled and stomped the ground, smelling the stench of death coming from the hut. Kagome was gone, headed to the well to go home. All of a sudden she claimed that she was having headaches and that her eyes were bothering her. Everyone knew it was a cop out to leave in the dreaded event that Inuyasha were to die. Then too, she was extra wigged out that Miroku suggested Sesshoumaru be summoned to assist Inuyasha.
'Disgusting filthy animal...How could you do that to your own child?'
'Please! I didn't mean to! Besides...YOU did the same.'
Yes, Kagome needed to get away from everyone and everything and fast. Her parent's biting words kept burning inside of her mind, giving her chills. Running blindly through the woods, she stopped when she heard a child laughing and twigs snapping.
"Kagome...Kagome..." The voice softly chanted. Looking to her left, she spotted a white visage moving smoothly through the woods and a small child behing it. The child was pointing at her and calling her name.
"Rin? Sesshoumaru?" Kagome whispered to herself. Realizing that the youkai was on his way and approximately 70 yards from her, she took advantage of the span and began to run full speed to the well.

~In the woods~

Sesshoumaru stopped dead in his tracks, making Rin bump into his leg and fall down. She looked up to see Sesshoumaru's head cocked to the side, as if he heard something.

'Did Inuyasha just call my name?'

Suddenly Sesshoumaru felt a pulsating in his neck and became dizzy. Grabbing his neck, he rubbed it vigorously and shook his head to clear his senses. "Sesshoumaru-sama?" Rin asked, noting the change in her charge.

"Stop studying him, annoying child! My lord! Are you ailing?" Jaken cried out running over, always ready to kiss ass. Sesshoumaru pushed the toad away and began to run toward the village.

'He is dying. I wont allow it, not by that indeecent scab of a human!'
Just then he smelled fear. Overwhelming fear.
"Sesshoumaru-sama! There's the miko! Kagome...Kagome," Rin chanted, pointing in the distance at the black haired girl. It was indeed Kagome, no one else in the area wore the same white shirt or green skirt. And the girl was staring at them, petrified in fear. Sesshoumaru growled and started after her, but the pulsating pain in his neck reminded him of more important issues to tend to. When the girl ran off, the Inu instinct wanted to chase after her and kill her, but Inuyasha was the primary concern.

Gaining speed in the other direction from Kagome, Sesshoumaru was out of sight in mere seconds; the only trace of him in the distance was the strange bluish white light radiating from his body. Jaken and Rin looked at each other and Rin stepped on Jaken in pursuit of Sesshoumaru.

"Sesshoumaru-sama! Wait for Pretty Rin!" The girl called, waving her skinny short arms.

~In the village~

"Child, observe. The hanyou is glowing." Kaede and Sango watched as a bright bluish light wafted from Inuyasha's body. The blood had finally stopped flowing but Inuyasha had not moved since his last fit, and Sango and Kaede were worried. Atleast when he was moving they knew he was still breathing steadily. Unless a demon is fighting or exhausted, their heartbeats were barely visible. Kaede brought a hand to Inuyasha's neck to check his pulse, and worry crossed her face.

"He feels colder. His life force is slipping away. You said you told the minion of Lord Sesshoumaru to come to assist us, correct?" She asked Sango. Sango nodded and took Inuyasha's hand. "I am certain that Sesshoumaru will come, if not to save Inuyasha, for the Tetsaiga. And if he tries to take it from him, I will kill him myself. I have my own vendetta against him." Sango's mind flashed back to when Sesshoumaru and Kohaku fought in that field. Sesshoumaru spared her brother's life, but something did not set well with it. He was not finished with the boy, and Sango was more than willing to be her brother's champion against Sesshoumaru. But only after Naraku's grip on him was loosened.

Just then Miroku stuck his head in the hut. "Sesshoumaru is here! And he's-" He looked down at Inuyasha. "Glowing," He whispered. Confusion passed his face for a moment and he shook it off. "Why is Inuyasha glowing too?" Sango looked at Inuyasha and realization hit her like a brick. Now was not the time for intimate questions though. After he is stablized, then she could probe him about why he and Sesshoumaru shared such a strong bond.
"So what do we tell him happened?" He walked over to Sango and Kaede, the fear apparent on his face.

Kaede snorted. "I feel no sympathy for Kagome. Those who abuse their powers should be punished."

"I agree." They all turned to see Sesshoumaru standing in the hut doorway, almost blocking the entire entrance. They noticed the small child on the side of one leg and the toad at the other. Both of Sesshoumaru's companions looked winded, no doubt tired from running to keep up with him.

Sesshoumaru walked carefully over to his brother, who looked deathly pale. He leaned down and touched one of the soft dog ears, and his heart sank when they didn't twitch. "Before I revive you, know this. I came to collect what is rightfully mine." He held his hand out to caress his face, and when he did, the blue light faded. Standing, he looked at Kaede. "My brother sensed you were going to perform a medical proceedure on him. That light was a barrier, a weak one, but one that would have kept you away from him. His energy is fading fast. He will die in mere moments." Sango gave Seshoumaru a sharp glare for lying, a glare that he matched.

Miroku pulled Sango close to him and cupped his hand over her ear to whisper. "Did you hear that? He said he was here to retreive what was rightfully his. That means the Tetsaiga, right? That's kind of shitty, don't you think?"

"This Sesshoumaru can hear everything you say, monk." Sesshoumaru snapped, not even bothering to turn to adress Miroku. A sweat drop appeared on the monk's forehead and he opted to gracefully exit the room from Sesshoumaru to watch Rin and Shippo, who seemed to have made fast friends.

Sesshoumaru stared icily at his brother, who was twitching and writhing in his sleep. His legs began to shake and then he was stilled and Sesshoumaru's look changed. "The reincarnated miko did this, the one with the strange attire, correct?" He knew the truth, but wanted to test the human's loyalty and see if it lay with Inuyasha or Kagome. Kaede and Sango nodded. The wind blew again and Sesshoumaru's clawed finger followed it. "Did you see that? That was his spirit leaving his body. He is dead, but this Sesshoumaru will revive him." He turned and unsheathed Tenseiga, which was also glowing blue.

"She will pay for killing him." He whispered to himself. With that, Sesshoumaru raised Tenseiga and sliced through his brother's body, from head to toe. Kaede gasped and held on to Sango's sleeve as Sesshoumaru placed his sword back in its scabbard and turned to them.

"The miko. Her location."

Sango pointed toward the well. "She was complaining of headaches earlier and said she was going home through the old well. She knows Miroku suggested to summon you, but she is unaware that I had Jaken send for you. When you catch her, it should be a..." She paused, feeling guilty about giving her friend up. "A stealth kill," She finished with a lump in her throat.

Sesshoumaru gave a very small smile. "All this Sesshoumaru's kills are stealth. Do not agitate Inuyasha. He will awaken as soon as the pressure in his head has stablized. Watch my charge while I dispose of the miko. If Rin has been bothered, I will slay this whole village, including Inuyasha. As far as the miko...do not expect to see her alive again." Sesshoumaru walked out of the door, and then jumped away, in hot pursuit of Kagome. A macabre smile crossed the youkai's face, and he was looking foward to killing the bitch.

Sango and Kaede looked at each other. Part of them wanted to help the girl, but the bottom line was whatever Sesshoumaru had planned for her....SHE HAD IT COMING! Inuyasha had been more than paitent with her, and by every right Kagome should have been found floating face down in a river somewhere. Even Kouga admitted that if Kagome tried to sit him that he would rip her arms out of the sockets and beat her with them. And that was coming from a man who loved her!

"Mmnnn...beefaroni," Inuyasha muttered and rolled to the side of the bed to vomit. He stared around the hut, partially chewed bits of meat and noodles on his haori. Kaede came quick to wash the food off of the hanyou and ask what exactly happened.

"Well, I had just eaten those noodles and meat Kagome brought back from her time. I was walking around the forest when I noticed a Jasmine herb growing from a tree."

"Jasmine herb! Those are priceless!" Kaede exclaimed, clapping her hands together.

Inuyasha gave her an annoyed look. "I know that. That's why I went to grab it. As I was reaching for it, I remembered it was my turn to wash the dishes in the river. I figured I could do it after I got the herb. The next thing I know, I hear Kagome yell 'sit', and the ground started coming at me really fast."

"Or you were going to the ground really fast," Sango quipped.

"Yeah, yeah, same difference. Any hoo the next thing I know I'm here and-" Inuyasha sniffed and bolted up. "Sesshoumaru was here! I couldn't smell after I first puked...where is he? Is everyone alright? Where is Tetsaiga?" Kaede touched Inuyasha's hand. "Please lay back down, there is more to this than what you think."

~At the well~

Kagome walked into the clearing where the well was and sighed. She hoped Inuyasha wasn't dead, but really felt like the situation wasn't her fault. Had Inuyasha not been such an asshole and cleared the dishes like a normal person, then he wouldn't be on death's door now. Who knew he was going to land on rocks? Or that sitting him up to 20 times a day would cause fluid to build on his brain? She was no doctor. If he didn't want to be sat, then he should have conducted himself like a gentleman. I mean, did he miss the bulletin that she was by far the most powerful miko? As in, don't fuck with her? More powerful than that Kikyo douche, who by the way was always trying to steal Inuyasha from her. Kagome huffed and looked around the clearing to make sure she was alone before passing gas.

'Don't want that traveling back with me!' She thought and giggled. She hopped into the well and yelled when about three feet into it there was a black wooden plank covering the hole. Just then, a strong arm grabbed her and threw her back out into the clearing. She indignantly looked up and found herself face to face with Sesshoumaru.
"How did you get back here so quickly?!" She cried out, attempting to scramble away from the angered youkai. Sesshoumaru smiled lovingly at Kagome and leaned down so close to her, their noses almost touched.

"You smell like a cow's pasture. Did you forget that I spotted you on my way to the village?" He said in a threatening tone. He took a menacing step toward her and she swallowed. Sesshoumaru lifted his beautiful face and sniffed again.

"I love the way your fear smells, Kagome."

'I love the way your pussy smells, Kagome.' Visions of her mother between her legs clouded her eyes as Sesshoumaru advanced.....
