Chapter 4 Painful Beauty

She entered the room slowly as if to make no noise but as she sat down, she noticed the youkai eyes turn to her. The young girl turned to her studying her for a moment.

“Kagome -mama is that you?” she raced around the table throwing her arms around the stunned woman.

“I am sorry... do I know you?” she was confused as to why this child called her mother.

“What wrongs mama don’t you remember Rin?”

“I am sorry honey I don’t remember much only my name, Kagome. At least I think that‘s my name,” Rin drew away as fat tears rolled down her cheeks as she sob openly. Kagome did not know what was happening but seeing the tears roll down the young girls face made her heartache even more. She went on instinct as she pulled Rin quickly into her embrace rubbing her hair cooing to her.

Rin was distressed having the only other person she loved the person she thought of, as a mother not remember her. Kagome had disappeared years ago only to return to her with no memory of them it tore her heart in two. The tears ran down her now red face unchecked as her mother’s words creped into her numb mind. She felt cold so cold and lost as her little body shivered. However, than she was surrounded by warmth opening her eyes she saw Kagome’s arms wrapped around her like when she was just a child.

Sesshoumaru outwardly was calm but inside his heart sunk when he heard her confession. She was back she had returned but she didn’t remember, she didn’t remember them him or their times together, she didn’t even remember little Rin. His youkai whinnied sadly at the confession from the woman they loved. He did not know what to do he was confused as he watched his pup cry. Nevertheless, when she pulled Rin into her embrace it reminds him of before and that alone gave him a little hope.

Kagome was distressed also holding the young girl close to her heart rocking her. She looked over at the youkai sadly. It would seem she sadden most of the creatures here with her presence. She sighed

“Maybe it would be for the best if I returned to my home,” Rin cried harder into her kimono at her words.

“No this is your home. You were taken from us before. . .” he spoke being cut off by Rin’s watery voice as she poured her little heart out. She wanted to stop crying but she couldn’t the not knowing than finding her mama again was just to much for her to handle.

“Please don’t leave Kagome-mama... please Rin has missed you so much,” Kagome was lost what was it she was supposed to say how could she respond to that. However, looking into Rin’s watery eyes she said the one thing any one could think of she said.

“Yes I’ll stay but if I stay you have to stop crying okay,” she spoke kissing Rin on the forehead wiping away the tears on her face.

“YAY” she yelled wrapping her arms around Kagome’s in a bone-crushing hug. “Would you go to the garden with me mama?” Rin whispered.

“First this Sesshoumaru and Kagome have to talk than she can go with you Rin,” Rin sighed but was content to sit on Kagomes’ lap and eat her breakfast. She smiled her mother was back so what she didn’t remember her. That just meant she would have to help her remember is all. Than a thought struck her ‘oh Kami what about Shippo did she remember him?’
