Sesshomaru smiled as Kagome climbed into her car and drove off. She had felt it, he was sure of it. Very soon he would have his mate and children back. Speaking of children...Sesshomaru couldn't fight the frown that bloomed on his features. "˜What will do when she finds out she's pregnant?' Fighting the wave of emotions and cluttered thoughts, Sesshomaru climbed into the limo with Kouga and Ellie. He couldn't wait to see her that night.

Chapter 4
Sesshomaru's Thoughts and Jaken's Fate.
Featuring "Passive" by A Perfect Circle (a personal favorite!)
Sesshomaru sighed deeply as he leaned back into the dark leather of the limo seat. His mind a maelstrom of images as Kagome's shy smile and blushing face throbbed fresh in his memory. He turned to the other two demons and nodded slowly. The next stop would be an interesting one indeed.
Dead as dead can be
The doctor tells me
But I just can't believe him
Ever the optimistic one
The limo sped down the streets as they closed in on their destination, the sea of humanity and youkai alike flying by in the reflection of the tinted windows. The three stiffened considerably as the large, upscale restaurant came into view. The limo pulled to the curb and stopped. Sesshomaru felt the coldness slide back into place as the driver opened the door and he stepped from the car.
I'm sure of your ability
To become my perfect enemy
Various humans paused to stare at the emerging figures and continued to do so until they had entered the building. Sesshomaru bit back the snarl in his throat as females whispered and called out to him. "˜Disgusting...' Kouga and Ellie followed closely; Ellie shot a few nasty looks herself to a few admirers of her mate. The Southern Lord never spared them a glance as they continued forward.
Wake up and face me
Don't play dead 'cause maybe
Someday I'll walk away and say
You disappoint me
"Ah! Mr. Tashio!" A pale, lanky man approached them speedily; a fake smile plastered across his greasy face. "Everything has been taken care of. Shall I lead the way?" The man asked as he held out an arm, motioning them to follow. Sesshomaru nodded curtly, taking note of the environment around him with low interest. The man led them through the sea of tables, crystal, and silk. The diners took little notice of the group, but if they had they would have realized that the very owner of that restaurant would have graced them with his presence.
Maybe you're better off this way
The establishment, Sapphire Shikon, was one of the many investments Sesshomaru had placed a small portion of his fortune in. All three demons still held their titles due to the lands being in their names, but certain changes had to be made here and there to avoid suspicion. After walking down a darkened hallway at the back of the dining room, they finally came upon a door. The man bowed low before turning and leaving them.
Leaning over you here
Cold and catatonic
I catch a brief reflection
Of what you could and might have been
With a quick glance to his companions, the Taiyoukai opened the door to the dimly lit room. He quickly recognized the room to be an addition to the kitchen...the dish area perhaps. The dishwasher closest to him hummed softly, steam pouring from various sinks and machines. A hostile grunt and mumbled words rose above the hiss of steam and the splashing of water. Careful not to draw attention, the trio slowed their steps and exchanged looks of disgust and hatred. A short, balding man came into view, talking to himself as he worked at the sink full of dishes. His pants were old and worn, a dirtied wife-beater stretched across his wide midsection where the apron was loosely tied. Sesshomaru growled softly, deciding to make their presence known. The man jumped and turned as his eyes widened. The dish fell to the floor and shattered as his mouth opened.
It's your right and your ability
To become my perfect enemy
"Hello again, Jaken." Sesshomaru growled out. "How is life as a "˜filthy' human treating you?" The man yelped lowly and clutched at his apron, his eyes darting between Sesshomaru's frozen expression and the others' open glares of immeasurable hatred and loathing. "I just came by to make sure you were keeping up with your punishment."
Wake up
(Why can't you?)
And face me
(Come on now)
"I beg of you, Lord Sesshomaru!" Jaken fell to his knees, ignoring the dirty water pooled on the tiled floor. "Lift this curse and send me from this Hell! I would rather be dead than remain amongst these creatures as their servant!" A broken sob racked the man's shoulders as he sagged against the floor. His head flew up as Kouga snorted in mirthless amusement.
Don't play dead
(Don't play dead)
'Cause maybe
("˜Cause maybe)
"To think that you actually have the nerve to beg forgiveness from us after what you've done; you are a true disgrace to what you once were, Jaken!" Kouga barked out, not caring who heard his words. Ellie glared at the man as he shifted his shamed eyes from her mate to her. A sneer tugged at her lips as he crawled forward. She roughly kicked his hand away as he reached for her, his eyes begging for mercy. "You will remain what you hate most until Sesshomaru feels "˜merciful' enough to either change you back or kill you. I wouldn't hold my breath!" Kouga placed an arm around his mate and left the room, Sesshomaru's eyes never leaving Jaken's form as the door closed behind him.
Someday
(Someday)
"I have found her again, and soon she will remember and all that you hoped to accomplish will be crushed to dust. Was the sacrifice worth the price?" Sesshomaru's voice held no tone as his orbs of amber ice bore into the small man.
I'll walk away and say
You disappoint me
Maybe your better off this way
"I did it for YOU!" Jaken choked out, his mind scrambling for an excuse. "My Lord, you must see why-..." A heartless chuckle from the demon cut him off quickly.
Maybe your better off this way
Your better off this
Maybe your better off...
"Save it, worm. As far as this Sesshomaru is concerned...you are not worth the water you sit in at this moment." Sesshomaru briskly turned from the sniveling man, barely holding back from tearing out his throat. "And remember Jaken..." The man's sobs continued as the cold voice boomed in the small room. "You break away from your given tasks, approach Kagome or the others, or approach me, and I will perform such acts on you that the last five-hundred years will seem like a cake-walk. Don't fuck with me again, Jaken." With the words heavy in the air, the Inuyoukai glided out of the room and out of the building.
Wake up
(Why can't you?)
And face me
(Come on now)
Don't play dead
(Don't play dead)
The man remained on the floor for a few moments before returning to his dishes. The spell that had changed him into what he had loathed most had been a fate worse than death. Jaken knew better than to test the Western Lord again. Next time he would not be so fortunate, and it wasn't likely that he would be gifted with a painless death anytime soon. It was also obvious to him that regardless of his now human blood, his death would only come at the Taiyoukai's bidding; which meant he could spend the rest of eternity as one of the humans he so greatly despised. Jaken sighed heavily and began to scrub. Five-hundred years down...an eternity to go.
'Cause maybe
("˜Cause maybe)
Someday
(Someday)
Kouga and Ellie smiled slightly as Sesshomaru's enraged form emerged from the busy restaurant. He straightened and breathed deeply, attempting to calm the call for blood in his soul. Now two primal urges had been denied in one day; his youkai was NOT happy at the moment. The first...Kagome. He had almost shredded the couch in her office as he held himself back. Her smell, her taste, her voice....it all had crashed down on him like a tidal wave. A smile glided across his lips when he remembered that she would be joining them that evening.
I'll walk away and say
You fucking disappoint me
Maybe your better off this WAY!
"Damn toad..." Kouga growled as he climbed into the limo. Ellie slid in next to him, wrapping her hand around his. She smiled as well at Sesshomaru's happy expression; she too had been overjoyed to see her friend after so long. The real regret she had is that Kagome was never able to be there for the birth and raising of her children. Kouga had been overjoyed that their first had been a boy. That would brace him for the three girls that would follow. Their son, Seinji, now lived in America as a game designer. Kouga had cursed the day video games had been brought into the world and it took him a while to adjust to his son's chosen profession. The girls; Namiko, Tarrika, and Fu were identical triplet's and a terror to the world around them. The three owned their own graphic design company and married with children of their own. Ellie was jarred from her day-dreaming as the limo pulled out into the street.
Go ahead and play dead

I know that you can hear this
(GO!)
Go ahead and play dead

Sesshomaru looked out into the city, an unreadable expression on his face as the buildings flew by. They would return to their hotels suites and plan the rest of the evening. Eight o' clock could not seem farther away that it did at that moment. His eyes drifted to Ellie and Kouga's silent forms. He secretly envied their happiness and growing family, but he never held it against them. His mind wandered back to Kagome as the limo glided on through the pulse of the city.
Why can't you turn and face me?
