Beginnings of Love... Or not?


Kagome woke up in the middle of the night. She stood up with Shippou nestled in her arms, leaving some of her scent so that he would still believe she was at his side. Then she laid him back down on the grass.
She looked up to the sparkling night sky and the pale beauty of the full moon.(yes I realize that he changes on the new moon but hey its my story) Kagome smirked
"Have fun being a human tonight, Inuyasha." she whispered
Walking over to the trees that held the most moonlight.
Making sure it wasn't too far away form the camp.
This is when the real Kagome surfaced.
She began to think of Inuyasha and the fact she just didn't want to live anymore, as silent tears ran down her fair cheeks.
Consumed with so much sorrow she let loose a mournful howl to the moon letting everyone know of the betrayal and heart ache.
The howl is what woke up the slumbering lord.
His amber eyes scanned the camp only to find one kit, yet it smelled as if she was there, he smirked.
"Hmm clever little fox." he whispered
Becoming curious he set off to track her. Within five minutes he was there, once he caught the scent of tears, he knew where the howl came from.
"Why must I live for hundreds of years alone; soon Shippou will be old enough to take a mate and leave me.
Then I will be utterly alone." she said
At hearing this Sesshoumaru let his presence be known, and walked over to sit next to her.
"Why are you crying miko?"
"That is none of your business." she said darkly
"I heard your call."
"So you presume it was for you, it wasn't."
"Hmph, what has the baka half-breed done now." he asked knowing she had a thing for the hanyou
"Do you want to know from the beginning." she asked
Sesshoumaru nodded
"Very well, it all started when I turned 16 in human years.
I went back to the future, 500 years to be exact, where my mother tole me she wasn't my real mother. That my family and clan is dead, and that I had to go back to this time for good. To this day I don't know why I had to stop traveling between the two times. Once the transformation was complete I came back for good only to find Inuyasha and Kikyou getting ready to... mate. I fled for months training myself to not show emotions unless alone. When I came back to the group I saw Kikyou trying to take my place, but so couldn't sense the jewels. Yet some how stayed with the group now his mate.
So that's that." she finished tears once again running freely.
" I feel hurt and betrayed but most of all hate.
It takes all my will power not to go right now while he's human and tear him to pieces slowly, so I could see how humiliated he was to be killed when he was his weakest. Then before he dies rip Kikyou's head off in front of him." she said and started to laugh hysterically.
"Wow I'm losing my mind, emotions they really are a weakness. I wish I were more like you."
That was when Sesshoumaru snapped.
Though out her whole story he had wanted nothing more than to comfort and when she started to explain in detail what she wanted to do to Inuyasha he wholeheartly agreed.
But when she said she wanted to be more like him with no emotions.
He didn't know what came over him but it happened, his change.
With all speed he lifted Kagome into his lap, his arms went around her waist holding her securely so she wouldn't pull away. As he growled low and nuzzled her neck, trying to comfort her.
Sesshoumaru didn't have the slightest clue why he was doing this; But the feeling of utter completion that he got when held her couldn't be ignored, it seemed so right
Kagome on the other hand was shocked beyond belief.
"˜The Great arrogant lord of the western lands is comforting me!? This is insane but the feeling of him gently nuzzling her and growling low made her relax.
She wanted to laugh at his gesture it's so like him, so dog-like.'
When her tears ceased and he visibly saw her relax, he stopped his ministrations, making Kagome mew in disappointment. He chuckled
Kagome looked up her crystal blue eyes asking why he stopped.
He wanted to bawl out and laugh at her innocent face but decided against it.
"I need to talk to you Kago." he said softly in her ear
She blushed at the nickname he gave her now she can call him that.
"What is it Sess." she whispered back neither one wanting to break the mood.
He smiled a real one just for her. She gasped but kept quiet.
"Kago, emotions are good for some people, for they are...they are what make up you. If you banish them then you are no longer Kagome." He said seriously, his amber eyes searching her's.
"I understand Sess arigatou. Demo ...why do you hide yours then. she asked innocently
"Kago I'm a taiyoukai and such things, feelings will be my downfall.
Love, caring, anger will be used against me; It's bad enough that I have Rin, but she follows me almost everywhere.
So there's less a chance that I wouldn't be there, and would take her away from me."
"That's bullcrap plenty of taiyoukai have mates and children that don't follow them around and they're doing just fine.
Sure they have some mishaps but that is a risk they take to have some kind of happiness in there very long lives.
You're just scared." she yelled her eyes ablaze
Sesshoumaru was baffled 'What just happened, why is she getting so ralled up. I expected her to pity me not yell.'
He let go of her and was ready to push her off, but Kagome turned around to straddle his lap.
She began nipping and purring at his neck.
"I'm so sorry Sesshou I didn't mean to lose it I... I'm just an emotional mess.
Please forgive me." she begged though his neck.
Sesshoumaru wanted to forgive her but for some reason he wanted no needed to put her in her place.
"Get off me wench." he said harshly
Kagome went stiff tears falling onto his neck.
She thought she had been so close to finding someone that cared for her.
'What a fool I've been; what I said was the truth he is scared. To think his brother could be any better, the whole family is fucked up.'
She slowly stood up and sliently turned then disappeared.
"This Sesshoumaru truly is a baka." he said aloud hoping she would hear.

And that's chappie 4 I know I ended on a bad note but I wanted to I love making them fight it's so much fun but don't worry they'll be together soon.
Surprises coming lol oh and the next chapter will have a longer wait to update. I have to come up with the surprises but not that long hopefully 2 weeks tops I Promise! Thank you to my reviewers you inspire me G.S, a, Megan, and others that I forgot to mention sorry.
