Kagome awoke to find Kouga gone. She got up and looked around. He was nowhere in the apartment. She was about to get dressed and go down to the club when her cell phone rang.

“Hello?” She asked, not looking at her caller ID.

“Kagome. We need to talk.” Inu Yasha said.

“No, we don’t. Don’t call me ever again.” Kagome snapped, preparing to hang up on him.

“Wait, Kagome. Please.” Inu Yasha begged.

Kagome sighed. “Well, spit it out. I don’t have all night to discuss our breakup with you.”

She could hear his sigh. “I do love you. What I did was selfish and totally wrong. I betrayed you and lost you. But, I don’t want to see you hurt or lose your friendship. Please, can’t we at least have that?”

“If you are implying that Kouga would hurt me, you are wrong. As for a friendship, I don’t know. You betrayed my trust in our relationship, how can I be sure that you wouldn’t do it in a friendship?” Kagome challenged.

“I can’t promise what will happen tomorrow, but know that I am sorry for hurting you and what we had. Damn it, Kagome. She didn’t mean anything to me. She was just a piece of ass. Hell, you and I hadn’t been intimate in a while, so of course I looked elsewhere. Had you just fucked me, we would not even be having this conversation right now.” Inu Yasha snapped.

Kagome’s face turned pale. “Are you saying that your cheating on me was my fault?” She asked.

“Well, you were my woman and you were supposed to give me sex when I wanted it, so yes, in a way this is your fault.” Inu Yasha agreed.

Kagome’s eyes flared. “You know what, for a moment I was willing to be your friend, but after hearing this shit, you can go to hell and make sure that tramp goes with you.” She shouted. She hit the end button and hung up on the hanyou.

“Well, I see that what he could not accomplish in the club, he tried to do on the phone.” Kouga said, closing the door.

Kagome turned to look at him. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to yell.” She said.
Kouga walked over and took Kagome into his arms, smiling at the fact that she was still nude.

“It is not your fault, but I do want you to change your cell number. I don’t want him talking to you anymore. He upsets you and I can’t have that.” Kouga said, kissing her forehead.

Kagome pulled back and smiled up at him. “So, where did you escape to?” She asked.

“I went down and had a couple of drinks with Sesshomaru. Seems he doesn’t like his brother anymore than I do.” Kouga mused.

“Well, that is because of Inu Yasha’s mom.” Kagome said, turning to go back into the bedroom.

“What about his mom? Isn’t she dead?” Kouga asked, remembering something that Sesshomaru had once told him.

“Yeah, she died when Inu Yasha was very little.” Kagome replied.

“Well, spill it, woman. Tell me the details.” Kouga ordered, plopping down next to Kagome on the bed.

Kagome pulled the blanket up close to her, and hiding her delicious body from his view. “Will Sesshomaru get angry that I am telling you this?” She asked.

Kouga shrugged. “I don’t think so. Besides, what we say stays between us.”

Kagome nodded. “Well, Inu Yasha’s father left Sesshomaru’s mother when he met a human woman. Now, Sesshomaru’s mom was full demon, and for his father to leave her dishonored her, especially for him to take a human woman into his bed. So, she ended up killing herself, leaving Sesshomaru all alone since his father was now preoccupied with his new family. Well, after being mated to the father, Inu Yasha’s mother came down with a rare brain tumor and passed away. It was quite sudden, but the damage was already done. When Inu Yasha’s father passed away, Inu Yasha was sent to live with Sesshomaru at his guardian’s home. Needless to say, the brothers never got along.”

Kouga was stunned. He had never heard about this before. “So, how did you react when Inu Yasha told you?” He asked.

Kagome shot him a sheepish look. “It wasn’t Inu Yasha that told me. It was Sesshomaru.” She said.

“Sesshomaru? When did he tell you all of this?” Kouga demanded. It kind of upset him that she and his friend already had a connection.

“We met through Inu Yasha. We had started to date, and I went to his office one day to pick him up, and that is when I met him. He and Inu Yasha were screaming, well Inu Yasha was screaming, and stormed past me. Sesshomaru invited me to sit down and asked me what I was doing there. When I told him that I was Inu Yasha’s girlfriend, he got a bit upset, but then explained why he and Inu Yasha were fighting. That is how I found out about what had happened.” Kagome explained.

“So, you and Sesshomaru have never…” He trailed off.

Kagome began to laugh. “Now, as his friend, you should know better than to ask that. But, no. We have never done anything. He did try to warn me about how Inu Yasha was, and I kind of just waved it off. I do know that they fought a lot more after I met Sesshomaru.”

Kouga nodded. When Sesshomaru bothered to stick his nose somewhere, it was because he cared. Apparently, he knew what his brother was all about and wanted to protect Kagome from being hurt. He would have to thank Sesshomaru for watching out for her. He looked down and saw that Kagome’s eyes had closed. She was still tired from their romp, and he decided to join her. He got up and undressed, keeping his eyes on Kagome’s sweet face. When he was done, he crawled into bed and grabbed Kagome, making her turn on her side with her back to his chest. He cuddled up to her smaller form and whispered that he loved her. He heard her sigh, and he smiled into her hair. Tomorrow was the day that Sesshomaru planned to start on Kikyo. He knew that his old friend would figure something out to destroy his little brother. He closed his eyes, and allowed sleep to carry him away.

Sesshomaru awoke to find that he had overslept. He got up and made his way into his kitchen. He walked in to find that breakfast had been started.

“Good morning, Sesshomaru-sama.” A cheerful voice chirped out.

“Good morning, Rin. I trust that your night was good.” Sesshomaru said, sitting down and watching as Rin poured him a cup of coffee.

“It was. Shippo picked me up after he got off from work and we went to the beach. It is really nice at three in the morning.” She giggled.

Sesshomaru nodded, as he sipped his coffee. He could see that Rin was staring at him with a curious look. Finally he could take no more. “What?” He demanded.

“Is it true that your half-brother cheated on his girlfriend and is now Shippo’s boss’s mate?” She asked.

Sesshomaru nodded. “It seems that the girl finally saw what I have been telling her for a while. But, I am glad that she is with Kouga. He will treat her well, and he loves her unconditionally.”

Rin looked thoughtful. “Seems awfully fast. I know that Shippo has talked to her on occasion, but I have never had the pleasure. So, what is she like?” She asked.

“A very nice girl, for a human, and she is very loving and trusting. Something that my idiot brother could never be. She is perfect for Kouga.” Sesshomaru said, standing up to go and get dressed.

“What about breakfast?” Rin called.

“Let Shippo have my share. Oh, and tell him he snores.” Sesshomaru said without looking back.

He could hear Rin’s embarrassed giggle. He had caught her, and she knew it. But, he actually liked the kitsune and didn’t mind that he was with his treasured ward. In fact, Shippo loved Rin just as much as Kouga loved Kagome.

He closed his bedroom door, and went to his phone. He dialed a number that Kouga had given him. When the phone picked up, he heard a woman answer it.

“This is Sesshomaru Taisho. I want you to meet me in one hour at Shikon Arms hotel. Room 169.” He said.

“And why would I do that?” Kikyo asked.

“Because, I know that you are hurting over Kouga, and I want to talk to you. Just be there.” Sesshomaru said before hanging up. He smirked at knowing what he was about to do. Anything for a friend.

Kikyo looked at the phone in her hand. Should she go? She looked around and then thought hard about it. Sesshomaru Taisho was loaded. She could try and seduce him, and then she could have a chance for a comfortable life. Inu Yasha had told her last night that he would no longer be with Kagome and wanted to start something with her. She had agreed, and they had made love until the early morning, but then he got up and said that he had some things to do. Kikyo could almost bet that one of those things was named Kagome. She got up and went to the shower. If she was going to get a rich guy like Sesshomaru into bed, she had better look like a million bucks.

Kagura smiled at the young hanyou. He had been talking up a storm about how his life sucked and how he wanted to just forget about everything. She leaned over, making sure that her breasts were noticeable.

“Well, if you want any help in forgetting, let me know.” She purred.

Inu Yasha stared at her. “What can you do for me?” He asked. He had gone to his favorite bar that he knew was open almost around the clock. That is where he met her, the lovely Kagura. She had been the one to strike up a conversation with him, and had been hitting on him for almost an hour.
“I can do many things. The question is, what would you like me to do?” Kagura asked, winking at him.

Inu Yasha thought about it for a minute. “Is this going to cost me anything?” He asked suspiciously.

Kagura laughed. “No, honey. I am simply wanting to fuck. Now, are you in or out?” She asked, staring at his crotch.

Inu Yasha quickly drank his drink down. “I’m in. Let’s go.” He said.

Kagura laughed. “Ok, but let me go to the ladies room first. I will meet you outside.” She said.

Inu Yasha nodded and then left the bar. Kagura went to the ladies room and got out her cell phone. She dialed a number and waited for the other end to pick up. When it did, she said with a smirk, “He fell for it, just like you said. And he is such a booze hound.”

She listened for a few minutes more and then nodded. “Yes, I have the cameras set up and will have the evidence within a few hours. You owe me for this, you know that?” She asked.

She laughed as the other person made a funny comment. “You say that every single time. Fine, I will talk to you later. Have a good time.” She said, before hanging up.

She straightened her dress and walked out of the ladies room and to the door. She walked outside and there he was, her mark. She only hoped that she could get through the next couple of hours without puking all over the place. She smiled at the hanyou, and got into her car. He opened the passenger’s side and got in. He leaned over and put his hand on her chin, pulling her to look at him. He smiled at her and then claimed her lips. He tasted like cheap wine. Kagura fought back the urge to slap him and started the car. It was going to be a long morning.
