Love and Politics in Feudal Japan

As the new couple slept, Jaken walked into the room where Inuyasha and company were staying for the night mumbling to himself, "Damn stupid inu bitch. Why'd Sesshoumaru-sama have to pick HER of all people?"
"Pick who?" Kagome asked as Jaken sat down in the corner. "None of your business, wench!" Jaken glared at her. Kagome moved to grab the stupid toad, but Miroku beat her to it.
"Just what the hell are you talking about?"Miroku asked in a dangerous voice that made Jaken squawk, "Sesshoumaru-sama and that Inutaishi bitch just got done mating and the bitch is now with pup!"
"WHAT!" Everyone else in the room exclaimed. "You heard me," Jaken replied, "I went to find Sesshoumaru-sama cause he hasn't eaten dinner and I found Sesshoumaru-sama and that Inutaishi getting ready to fall asleep when Sesshomaru-sama kissed that Inutaishi's head and said 'You're pregnant, my mate.' Then they both fell asleep."
There was a loud bang and a crash from the next room and the group heard Sesshoumaru yell, "URUSAI!!! ROSY'S SLEEPING!!!" Tai's giggle came through the wall next and the group grinned.
Sesshoumaru attempted to grab Tokijin next since he'd already thrown Tenseiga and broken a picture, but Tai distracted him by kissing him. Sesshoumaru immediately forgot about throwing anything and wrapped his arms around her. The two kissed feverishly and round two began. This time with Tai on top.

The next morning, the couple awoke to Inuyasha yelling that it was time to go and everyone scrambling to gather their things. Sesshoumaru yawned and sat up in bed just as Tai was putting her swords back into her sash. Tai laid Tenseiga and Tokijin on the bed beside him, smiled, and walked out of the room.
"Well, you're all very energetic this morning," Tai laughed as she watched Shippo chasing Kirara, Rin, and Jaken around the room narrowly avoiding Inuyasha who had lunged at him, "Oh come on, Inu-kun leave them alone. Shippo and Rin are still young, let them run."


Kagome called Tai to her and blushed as did Miroku, Sango and Inuyasha. "Umm did you and Sesshoumaru-sama have fun last night? That stupid toad said you are carrying Sesshoumaru's pup. Is it true?"
Tai smiled and nodded, "Yes it is true. All of it and we did have fun last night, but I don't know why you're embarrassed for asking me." She cocked her head to the side in the classic confused puppy look and thought for a moment, "Wait a minute. You and Sango are still virgins aren't you? Inu-kun and Houshi-sama are too afraid to ask you two to mate or um marry them aren't they? That's why the four of you are so embarrassed. Gomen, I shouldn't have pried."
Inuyasha, Kagome, Sango, and Miroku's faces resembled tomatoes. Inuyasha stuttered, "N…No, Tai-chan, you shouldn't have pried besides Kagome's not the one I'm in love with anyway." He then turned toward the door.
Sesshoumaru was standing in the doorway watching Tai carefully and said coolly, "You're a horrible liar, little brother."
"I agree with Fluffy on that one Inu-kun. You lied right then and I think you're so confused about your feelings that you just don't know how you feel," Inutaishi said as Inuyasha jumped out of the window yelling ‘hurry up' behind him.
Sesshoumaru sighed and walked over to Tai smiling as he sat next to her and pulled her into his lap, "You shouldn't sit on the floor in your condition, Rosy," he whispered in Inutaishi's ear causing her to shiver in delight. "However, we do have a bit of a problem. I believe you know what it is, right?" he asked as he turned Tai around to face him.
Inutaishi sighed and buried her face in the crook of his neck, "Yeah, we'll need to get married in order to appease the human lords of our lands. Announce our mating and the pregnancy to the demon lords. Then figure out how to divide everything between the two of us. If Rashka-sama and Derenti-sama approve of our union, that is. If not, then we'll both just have to keep patrolling our own borders and only see one another occasionally. Then we'll have the pup to worry about."
By the time Tai finished, everyone in the room had their eyes on the two of them as Inutaishi began to sob into Sesshoumaru's neck. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her head silently telling her that everything would be fine and that he was there for her and the pup. Inutaishi's sobbing ceased and she leaned back giving Sesshoumaru a kiss in a silent thank you for that. The two broke apart and he stood up carrying her out the door as he told everyone that they needed to get going.

When the group got outside, Inutaishi sent her guards ahead to inform the palace of her arrival and to prepare for guests. She pulled the general aside, "Mika, I want you to make sure that Inu-kun, Kagome-chan, Sango-chan, and Miroku-sama share two rooms. Inuyasha and Kagome in one. Miroku and Sango in the other. Also, be sure that Rin, Shippo, Kirara, and Jaken are in the same room, preferably the one adjacent to mine, understand? Oh and one more thing," she glanced around then grinned evilly, "None of them are allowed to switch rooms."
Mika looked at Inutaishi and grinned just as evilly, "Of course, Inutaishi-sama. As you wish." He then bowed to her, called the rest of the guard and ran ahead of the group.



Sesshoumaru chuckled as he walked over to her, "You really are a mean one you know that, Rosy? Ah-Un come here." The two headed dragon walked up as Sesshoumaru picked Tai up and sat her on its back, "You will be riding Ah-Un until we reach our destination, understand?" Inutaishi pouted, but nodded. Rin and Shippo joined her and the three of them began singing.
They began heading east toward Inutaishi's palace with Inuyasha followed by Kagome, Miroku, and Sango, Sesshoumaru behind them, Jaken, and Ah-Un behind him bringing up the rear. They stopped for a bite to eat around midday while Tai stretched her legs.
As Tai, Shippo, Rin, and Kirara played a game of tag, Sesshoumaru kept a close eye on all of them. Kagome came up and sat beside him watching the kids pin Inutaishi down and tickle her.
"She's different from when we met her yesterday," Kagome noted, "but then again so are you Sesshoumaru-sama. Is mating really that wonderful?" Her curiosity was killing her, but she wasn't expecting an answer from 'The Ice Prince of the West.'
"That word doesn't even begin to describe it, Kagome," Sesshoumaru replied calmly which scared the hell out of Kagome, "Having a mate is probably the best and worst thing that could ever happen to a youkai. A female can break the male if given the chance and vice versa." He looked at Inutaishi as the children captured and tickled her yet again then said, "You know, Kagome, it's a shame that my little brother either can't or won't make up his mind about which he wants. In my opinion, the dead miko is his past which should be forgotten. You, however, are his future and he should acknowledge that. You two should be mates. Even though Inuyasha is a hanyou and you are a miko, the pups you'd produce would be a force to be reckoned with. Therefore, my brother is a baka for not realizing that."
Inuyasha, eavesdropping as usual, heard everything that was said between Kagome and Sesshoumaru.
Sesshoumaru, sensing his brother was near, whispered for Kagome to say the word. "Inuyasha, osuwari. Osuwari, Osuwari, Osuwari and OSUWARI!!" Inuyasha ate dirt as Sesshoumaru gave Kagome a wink in acknowledgement. "Dear little brother..." Sesshoumaru said, "...you know I'm right about this, so just admit your feelings now and get it over with."
"I'll think about it." was the muffled reply as Kagome stormed away from the two brothers. The spell wore off and Inuyasha jumped to a nearby tree as the wind changed direction and picked up slightly.
Inutaishi, who was chasing Shippo, froze and began sniffing the air. She growled, grabbed Rin and Shippo, and crouched low to the ground ready to pounce if need be.
Sesshoumaru saw this and pulled Tokijin from his sash ready for an attack. Sango, Miroku, and Kagome came running up the short path. A whirlwind stopped less than three feet from Inutaishi and a wolf youkai emerged from it.



Sesshoumaru moved and stood in front of his mate defensively, glaring at the youkai. He raised Tokijin ready to strike when Kagome ran up to the two youkai and looked at the wolf, "Kouga-kun? Why are you here?"
"You know this wimpy wolf?" Sesshoumaru asked in his icy voice. Kagome nodded.
"Kagome, I just came to give you this," Kouga said and handed her a necklace, "and why are you traveling with two more mutts? One of which is with pup?"
Inutaishi moved to stand beside Sesshoumaru and growled as her youki flared, "KOUGA! WE are NOT mutts. You call us that again and I'll rip your fucking head off. You should know better. Obviously, you haven't realized that you are in the VERY lands that I banished you and your pack from nearly 20 years ago. If you don't LEAVE now, I'm going to kill you, understand?"
Kouga looked at Tai as her eyes became red and backed away before bowing fully at her feet, "Gomen-nasai, Inutaishi-sama. This lowly youkai didn't recognize you. I'm leaving now." With that, he took off as fast as he came.
