50 Years of Waiting
Not a word was spoken on the way to the village, but thoughts were made. And what was happening behind closed doors wouldn't be realized. Atleast... not yet.
In the next chapter... the love is blossoming... and Sesshoumaru hears of his lovers return... but maybe Inuyasha will be the one to step in and confess... xx Akira Kikyou Kanawa xx

Getting slowly back to the village, Inuyasha took his time exacting the perfect motions in his running. He would glance down at the miko every now and then, just to see her watching him, he smiled, he almost felt amorous in a way that this miko already belonged to a shogun named Sesshoumaru Tokugawa. Inuyasha didn't really pay much attention to class in history, but he knew enough about the Tokugawa shoguns to understand the great powers that he possesed. But somehow he had a feeling, that this miko would someday be his.
"What is your name samurai?" asked Kikyou in that silky smooth voice. Inuyasha took a breath so as to keep his focus, he stopped and set her down in front of the bridge to her village. He held out his hand to her, "I am Inuyasha Takizawa." Kikyou looked down at his hand, unsure of what to do. She shortly bowed to him, "Hajimashite." she said in a low soft voice. He lifted her head, and then took her hand. He slowly raised her hand up and down, clasping it tighter. "See? Handshake..." he said, feeling as though he were talking to a young child.
"Oh, are those customs where you come from?" she said, blushing to have offended this young samurai Takizawa. "No, it's just what people do, when they meet. Some people give hugs, some people just wave." Kikyou blushed again, wondering if Inuyasha was going to hug her. She didn't need to even think that question, for the answer was right there in her arms. Inuyasha wrapped his strong arms tighter around her shoulders. She rested her head on his shoulder. "Hajimashite..." she whispered.
"Hai, anata nami Kikyou-sama." he said, in a low voice. Kikyou withdrew, "So the language hasn't been forgotten?" she asked, holding onto the sleeves of his jacket. "Iie, many people still speak Japanese." Kikyou led him down through the winding paths of the village, she paused before the door to a small house. "Dozo..." she said, motioning for Inuyasha to go inside. "Arigatou..." he breathed as he went past her. She left the bamboo doors tied, a small storm was brewing outside.
"So... Kikyou... does Sesshoumaru Tokugawa... I mean... are you gonna go see him?" he asked, facing the wall, not even wanting to hear the answer. "I have a guest for the time being, I shall send him a message." she sighed, she silently scribbled a row of kanji on a small peice of paper. She rolled it up and put it in her kimono. "I shall return shortly. Please make yourself at home." she said, excusing herself from his presance. After she left he thought about this world, and how in hell he was going to get back home. Not that he didn't think that this world wasn't fun, it was a great adventure, but what about his birthday? His family and friends? "Feh, what friends? Even Miroku's not a good friend, he's always too busy flirting with women." he sighed. "Maybe I'll just stay here..."

"My Lord Daimyo, a message from the Eastern Village." Sesshoumaru Tokugawa turned from the window, he had been thinking about her again, and how long it would be until she was released. He took the scroll from his servant and dismissed him. He sat down on the stone banister of the balcony adorning his bed chamber. He unrolled the small paper and read it carefully. His eyes widened as he read, "Kikyou! Alive!" he said, in a state of shock he walked quickly down the hallways to the stables. Where his dragon Ah'Un was kept, his two headed pet dragon, given to him by his father, that late Lord Daimyo, General InuTaishou Tokugawa.
He lightly jumped onto the back of his pet and dissapeared quickly into the clouds. "My Kikyou, can you really be alive again?" his heart pounded as he neared to the village, and it was here, her scent. She was strongly emitting a beautiful scent of herbs and bellflowers. He took another leap and landed in back of her. He noticed her turn and then caught her in a tight hug. "My lord!" she exclaimed instantly, embracing him just as tightly. Tears ran down her face while she contemplated what had happened 50 years ago. Her koibito, still alive, and well. And now he was back with her, and it felt so good to have him there.
Sesshoumaru let out tears as well, "I've been waiting for you. How did you get free?" he breathed. Not even caring about how, just being glad that she was back. InuYasha came over, looking Sesshoumaru up and down, 'He does look like Sessh...' he thought. InuYasha imagined the beautiful images of their love, and it weighed his heart in that moment. He stepped forward, holding back, but yet he had to call out. "I set her free..." he sighed, knowing it wouldn't do any good to talk to him. He was a shogun and... "And who are you? You must be the samurai I prophesied about. I thankyou for bringing Kikyou back to me." InuYasha nodded, and then bowed shortly. He kept his eyes focused on the young Sesshoumaru's, he had been taught to stay strong with eye contact. "I am InuYasha Takizawa, my lord."
Sesshoumaru looked him over, examining everything. He pulled his sword from it's sheath, turned it over. He handed it back to InuYasha. "This is a fine sword Takizawa-san." InuYasha nodded his understanding. "You were trained well, and in the future no less." Sesshoumaru continued to scrutinize, InuYasha stayed still, letting the young shogun finish his unwanted inspection. When Sesshoumaru was satisfyed with that, he turned to Kikyou and wrapped his arm around her waist. "I thankyou again Takizawa-san. Now we take our leave." Kikyou gasped, "My lord?" she breathed, unsure of this new arrangement. "Kikyou, do you not wish to live with me? I am the daimyo of the Western Lands."
Kikyou half lied. She did want to go, she wanted to be with Sesshoumaru so badly, but what about the village, and this strange samurai? She had to protect her people again. And the Sacred Jewel, that's right! What had happened to the Shikon no Tama? "The Jewel..." she gasped, Sesshoumaru walked closer to her, and raised an eyebrow. "My lord, what happened to the Shikon no Tama?" InuYasha perked his stance to listen. For him, he was just realizing that this wasn't a dream, and that the Shikon no Tama was real.
"My Kikyou, the Priestess Kagome's body was burned along with it. It has passed on to the next world." stated Sesshoumaru, recalling that day. He dropped his head in the memory. Kikyou lifted it and then kissed him softly. InuYasha stood stark still, it bothered him, but what he didn't know was why. Why was he feeling so pissed off? Why did he feel so attached to this miko. His thoughts were intterupted by another pain in his side. He tried not to cry out, but this time the pain had increased. It was searing at the side of his chest as well, where that small round scar lay. Kikyou suddenly tensed, and went over slowly to InuYasha. "You, you have the Sacred Jewel?" she looked to his side, and examined the glowing spot beneath his white shirt.
He had no idea what she had been thinking. He took off his shirt and looked down to see a glowing spot beneath his flesh. "You mean, I'm the reincarnation of that priestess?" he gasped, still remiss in beliving or understanding the complicated truth. "My lord, I'll need to take it out, before it causes problems..." Kikyou sighed, staring up into InuYasha's deep amber eyes. InuYasha winced at another searing pain, and then nodded.

InuYasha was sweating in his sleep. Kikyou had removed the Jewel from his side succesfully and it now lay in the shrine. It had been almost two days since he had arrived in the Warring States Era of Japan. And he found it hard to decide weather he wanted to go back. "Happy birthday..." he sighed. "Today is your birth anniversary?" said Kikyou's sweet voice, coming into the house with a small bundle of crushed herbs. "Happy anniversary Takizawa-sama." InuYasha looked up at her, and found his breath stolen. She was so beautiful to him, so tempting. Was this it? Is this what it felt like... to be in love?
