I walk up to the old well from which so much happiness had sprung. I’ve come here every day since she left over a month ago. The Monk says something must have happened, now that the jewel is complete, that made the well stop working and now she can’t come back anymore.
My tears stain the old wood as I look down into the darkness looking for some sign that he is wrong and finding none. It ok for him he has his Exterminator to keep him happy but what about me? I don’t even have the mangy old dog to take it out on since he went with her.
It’s just not fair! Why can’t I have what I want! I’m just a little kid, it’s not right that I should lose the greatest love of my life! Throwing my head back, I cry out my anguish to the Gods: “How am I supposed to survive without Pockey!?”

Author’s Note: It was really hard to try to get into the serious frame to thought on this one. We all know he loves Kagome too but there are priorities you know?
All works in the Loss series are a one shot look at a character’s inner thoughts in relation to a loss and is intended to stand alone.
