Quietly walking out, so as not to wake her, Inuyasha stepped towards her and removed the top of his fire-rat coat, placing on top of the sleeping Kagome. He looked at her with his golden eyes that he never imagined he would be able to: realized love. “She loves me,” he whispered to himself, feeling again the rush of love for his tiny human woman. He almost was consumed with the urge to be close to her, to comfort her, and to feel her against his body, to hold her in his arms.
Inuyasha sat down next to Kagome and lovingly played with her ebony hair. He purred as he ran his claws carefully through her silky tresses, noticing her smile in her sleep at the light caress. Failing to resist the urge to kiss her, Inuyasha laid down next to Kagome and gently kissed her eyelids. He gathered her into his arms and buried his face in her neck, taking in her scent. She smelled of cherry blossoms, cherry blossoms that would soon be in full bloom, like the first days of Spring, when the world was bursting with life and vitality. ‘She smells so good,’ Inuyasha thought, amazed that one so beautiful as her, could love him. “I will never let you go,” he whispered in her ear, “I love you and will never stand to lose you.”
Sleeping, Kagome saw Inuyasha, who held her in a warm embrace, and she smelled his scent. He smelled like wind through the trees, sweet and wild. “I will never let you go,” he said to her, and she melted into his arms. The dream ended and Kagome, realizing that she was dreaming again, refused open her eyes to see Inuyasha still just out of her reach. Right beyond her fingertips, realizing that she was still desperately in love with him, while he regarded her as only a burden.
Slowly opening her eyes, the first thing she noticed was the fire-rat coat laying on top of her, ‘like-like a blanket,’ she thought in wonder. Then she realized that she was being held in the strong arms of… “Inuyasha,” she asked tentatively, wondering if she was still dreaming.
“Kagome,” he said, his voice tender and loving, like a light caress.
“I----” Kagome started to speak but was stopped by Inuyasha’s finger placed upon her lips.
“I need you,” he said. “I heard everything that you said earlier, and it’s my turn to confess myself to you.”
Kagome had to shake herself to make sure that she was really not still dreaming, and that her wildest fantasy was in fact, coming into reality.
“Kagome, you love me, for me. No one else has ever done that, and I know that I love you so much that I can barely understand it.” His words made Kagome’s eyes fill with tears.
“Why are you crying,” Inuyasha asked, worried that something he said had been wrong. She laughed, “No, it’s just that I thought I would never heard those words from your lips.”
“Please say that you’ll stay with me and be mine forever,” asked Inuyasha with baited breath.
“I will always be at your side,” she answered. “And I will forever be yours and yours alone.”
“And I shall always be yours,” replied Inuyasha.
He had murmured these last words against her lips and kissed her the way that Kagome has always dreamed that he would. Pulling her closer, their kiss quickly deepened as Inuyasha’s tongue parted Kagome’s lips and found hers, waiting for him. Their tongues danced, as they tasted each other, nothing else in the world mattering in that moment but their kiss.
Their hands traveled everywhere and soon the clearing was strewn with troublesome clothing. Passion was fueling every movement in their bodies, as they were lost, bare, held in each other’s arms.
Inuyasha held Kagome to him, and his hands slid down her back, massaging each vertebrae, eliciting a moan from Kagome’s throat. Kagome too, felt the need to explore her lover as she ran her hands over his toned chest and down his sides to his abdomen, stopping just short of his hardened length. Inuyasha growled a lust-filled growl as his hands moved to Kagome’s chest, cupping her left breast in his palm. Encouraged by her moans of approval, Inuyasha continued to tease her by running his claws against her breast, her nipple hardening under his careful attention.
