Lost among enemies

AN: now lets see how many mistakes i can make in this chapter.

Chapter 4 Awake

"Good morning how are you doing today?" Said a way too chipper voice.

Kagome just groaned and rolled over, still not fully awake.

"Dear, I need you to wake up. I have some pill that you should take and I can't give them to you while you are still asleep. Now wake up." Said the all too happy voice.

Groagly Kagome opened her eyes and looked around in confusion. "Where am I?" She asked extreemly groagly.

"You are in the county hospital." The voice said.

Kagome focused her gaze on the sorce of the voice. It was an elderly woman standing before her. Her gray hair was pulled up into a bun and she had a black eye patch over her left eye. "Who are you?" Kagome croaked out her troat dry and in despret need of water.

"My name is Kaeda. But the question of the day is who are you?" The old woman stuck her face right up to Kagome's, causeing Kagome to lean back in her pillow a bit.
"You came in with no ID on you so we have no idea who you are."

"Kagome my name is Kagome." She squeeked out, a little intimidated of the woman in front of her.

Kaeda narrowed her eye at Kagome. "And does Kagome have a last name. We need it for our records."

"Higurashi." Kagome said.

Kaeda nodden her head and wrote it down on a piece of paper. "Now sit up girl, I have some pills i want you to take."

Kagome started to push herself up in bed, but winced when she started moving. Taking a few breaths and this time ready for the pain she pushed herself up and leaned against the headboard. Kaeda then handed her a small cup with a few pills in it and a glass of water. Kagome gladly took the water from her and took the pills. The water tasted like heavens necter on her dry throat.

"Now dear do you have any family we could call. For they surely must be wondering what happened to you." Kaeda asked kindly.

Kagome just stared into her now empty glass. "No. I don't have any family." she said quietly.

"Any friends then?"

Kagome just shook her head.

Kaeda just looked at her for a few minutes before sighing and going to leave.

"Wait." Kagome said before the old woman left the room.

Kaeda stoped and looked back questionly.

"How long do I have to stay here for?"

"Just another day dear, then you can go on your way home to finish healing up." Kaeda said and then left the room.

Kagome sighed in releaf, she was glad it was just another day. Kagome was not too fond of hospitals but at some points they were necisities. When she went home she could truly start to heal herself. She would not use her miko powers here for the doctors would become supicious if her wounds just suddenly healed. The gerneral populus did not know of demons and such, and Kagome was notut tut to introduce them to it. People just did not need to know about and and they were generally happier not knowing. So Kagome figuredt jut just one day was not that long to wait.

The day passed rather uneventfull. Nurses came in every now and then either givpillpills or asking questions. The doctor came in once to inspcet her stiches and see how she was doing. In between those times Kagome just slept leting her miko powers regenerate.

Later that day Kaeda poped her head in Kagome's room. "So Dear someone told me you came in on a moterbike. Is that true."

Kagome nodded her head "Yes, mam."

"And is that how you plan on getting home?"

Kagome looked at her questionly "Yes, that was the plan."

Kaeda shook her head at Kagome's answer "I don't think so dear, you could hurt yourself more riding on that death trap."

The old womans reference to her bike made Kagome smile. "That is my only means of transportation. How do u prepose i get home then?"

"I noticed you live up in the city, and I was planing to head up tomarrow anyway. So I will drive you in my car." Kaeda stated matter of factly, her tone leaving no roor arr argument.

Surprise was written all over Kagome's face, she wasn't used to people being so nice to her. "Thankyou, but how will I get my bike there."

Kaeda just patted Kagome's hand tolerably, "Don't worry dear I will get a couple of friends of minefollfollow us up. Now you just get some rest."

"Are you sure it will be OK with your friends and you." Kagome asked anciously (AN: no idea how to spell that)

"Now i would not have offered if it was not alright. Go to sleep I will be here to pick you up tomarrow around ten." Kaeda said and got up and left.

Kagome just stared in shock at where the old woman left. Kaeda was so nice and careing, it was just something that Kagome was not used to. It was a nice change though. Hopefully she just might be able to make a friend out a Kaeda. It would be usefull to have a friend who is a nurse. For some reason Kagome felt she could trust her too, she was not sure why but she felt it deep down inside.
