A Royal Pain

Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha came back into the hall looking quite splendid, which of course was Sesshoumaru’s normal look. His Mother had to admit her son was much more intimidating in armor than he was in his pajamas.

“You insured there was no mar on your armor?”

Luna asked her son as she sipped at her tea teasing her son a bit. It was what she lived for. At least when Sesshoumaru was having a temper tantrum he showed his emotions.

Kagome and the others did their best not to laugh, but it would only cause more issues and it was indeed time for the morning meal.

Sesshoumaru just scowled and sat down trying his best to keep the peace at the table sipping his tea and looking straight ahead ignoring Inuyasha who was indeed laughing a bit at his expense.

Banzan slowly rose from his chair and went to excuse himself when Sesshoumaru looked at him.

“Banzan sit. You are to remain here and eat with us. In fact I order you to eat with us at every meal until I say otherwise.”

His Mother looked pleased at this new development and decided to give Sesshoumaru a small break for his efforts.

Banzan was rather uncomfortable with these new rules, but was grateful none the less. He would be fed quite handsomely and it would indeed give him time to get to know these new Lords and Ladies.

“As you wish my Lord.”

Banzan bowed and then sat back down.

Sesshoumaru watched his mate as the food arrived.

“Inuyasha was there anything you wish to request from the kitchens?”

Inuyasha was thrilled with what was being brought out and really didn’t worry about requesting anything more.

“No, I am good.”

As everyone tucked in their meals there was complete silence other than the chewing of food and sipping of tea.

As soon as breakfast ended everyone got up from the table and followed Sesshoumaru into a large room usually used for training purposes. It was time for the ceremony to begin.

Sango and Miroku’s children were brought up from the nursery to also be changed and both parents were a bit nervous since not only would this change their status amongst the human populations, but also change their acceptance amongst demon kind.

It was well known that hanyous were starting to be accepted more often and much of that had to do with Inuyasha’s heroic acts for the benefit of most human, hanyou, and demons.

By removing some of the more powerful demons that tormented humans, the humans now could breathe easier knowing that they were safe to live out their lives in peace. By killing lower demons, Lords like Sesshoumaru did not have to go out of their way to take care of these annoying problems leaving their lands filth free. This changed the politics and led to a balance of power amongst the humans and demons that regularly thrived in Japan.

In many ways Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru working together paved the way for their children to live without resorting to war. Sesshoumaru did want to make certain there was no threat to his offspring when the time came for him to bear fruit. As soon as his heat began he would inform Inuyasha of his plan to bear an heir that would eventually take his place one day as the new Inu No Tashio.

These humans that traveled with Inuyasha were worthy of power and honor as well. If it was not for their efforts Naraku would still be a thorn in their side and would have eventually destroyed all the lands with his poisonous miasma.

Looking at these humans for the last time Sesshoumaru hoped that they would indeed prosper from this change and hoped that their transitions would be favorable since it would indeed be unfortunate if they were changed into something that would not benefit them.

Banzan passed out the jade animal stones all representing the Inu Nation. Each carefully carved piece was identical.

The jade pieces for Sango and Miroku’s infant and twins were made into necklaces to go around their necks.

“It is the hope that you will become a part of the Inu Nation, but if you are to become something else you will still be accepted into this which will be your new home.”

At that Sesshoumaru read the incantation. The humans started to glow and change shape.

The first change happened to Sango as she grit her teeth in pain as her fangs immerged and felt something rip her back open as she cried out falling to one knee desperately trying to get a grip on herself since she was still holding her crying son in her arms. Claws tore out of her fingertips and her eyes changed from honey brown to a deep violet that was almost black in color.

Soon a pair of black wings immerged from Sango’s back tearing through her kimono and unfurling behind her. Her son also was crying until the little black wings unfurled on his back as well.

The twins cried into Miroku’s arms as he lifted them both as their black wings appeared. It seemed as though the children were taking on more of their Mother’s aspects until he looked at their eyes. Their eyes were not as dark as their Mother’s they were his natural human color.

Miroku gritted his teeth as he felt fangs protruding on his upper and lower jaws. Two ears similar to Inuyasha’s were atop his head and a tail tried to find its way loose from his pants. Miroku had thought his ass hurt before, but his tail being trapped in his pants hurt a lot more since it was all bound up. His claws protruded from his fingertips. Now he knew how Inuyasha felt from being transformed to a human and then back to a hanyou every month. Miroku would have to ask Inuyasha sometime how he could stand the change.

Those same ears popped up on top of his children’s heads, but there were no signs of a tail showing.

Soon as their changes were made, the nursemaids carried the children back to the nursery allowing their parents to get used to the changes.

Kagome felt the crackling of her purification powers. She didn’t know what was going on, but she felt like she was suffering from a migraine as she held her head in her hands while her miko powers tried to fight her change.

Kagome could feel the fangs grow in her mouth, but then her power kept trying to dispel them making her go through the process again. It was the same with her fingers and the claws.

Suddenly Kagome screamed at the top of her lungs as she passed out onto the floor.
