Chapter Thirty-Six


Yusuke was leaning in the shower with his hands out in front of him. The water ran over him as he tried to get his raging hormones under control. He hadn't meant to yell at her. But the moment she'd stepped in the shower he felt himself start to lose control. His demonic blood started to rise demanding he throw the girl against the wall and take her. He fought for control, he didn't want to hurt her. When she'd placed her arms around him, he felt her breast brush against his back. Trying to hold onto his control, not wanting to send her away. Then she'd started touching him. His arousal had become painful and he could feel himself losing it. He'd been about to throw her against the wall and take her brutally, so he'd yelled at her. He would prefer her angry at him instead of injured because he couldn't control himself.

He heard someone moving around in the bedroom and assumed it was Sango waiting to bash his head in. So, he stayed in for another couple minutes before stepping out. Now, he felt like he could face her. He wanted to explain and apologize for his behavior. He opened the door to find Kurama in the room. "Where's Sango?"

"She left with Kagome awhile ago. What happened?"

"And you let her leave? You dumb ass, its pouring out there." Yusuke was pissed. More at himself than Kurama.

"I'm not the one who made her cry, you did. If you want we can jump in my car and go after them. They couldn't have gotten too far."

As they walked out the door they heard the sirens heading down the street.

Kagome was being pelted in the face so hard it stung. They were both soaked, cold and miserable. Being night time made it hard to see and the rain made it impossible to see one foot in front of your face. She kept ahold of Sango's hand trying to walk on memory. They still had at least an hour walk before they'd get to the shrine. "I think we should head back Sango."

Sango knew Kagome was right but the thought of facing Yusuke again filled her with dread. How could she look at him? But there was more at stake here than her hurt feelings. Kagome didn't need to get sick and she had the health of her child to worry about. "Okay."

"Maybe Kurama will give us a ride home. Its better than walking in this storm." Kagome turned around to head back. Her eyes widened in horror as she watched a car heading their way hit a deep puddle and start to swerve. It began to spin, it straightened out, but was headed right at them. The driver wouldn't have time to stop. Kagome screamed as she threw her arms around Sango trying to bring up a barrier.

Sango heard Kagome scream and felt arms wrap around her waist. Then she was being picked off her feet. She didn't feel anything until she heard the sound of breaking glass then the pain began as she hit the roof and rolled down landing on the pavement. Her back impacted knocking the wind out of her.

Kagome tried to keep ahold of the girl but the car impacted sending them up and over the car. When they hit the windshield Sango was tore from her and the barrier dropped leaving both exposed. She felt herself hitting and rolling until her head caught the bumper on her way down. A loud cracking sound was heard as she hit the pavement.

Sango felt the rain pelting her face as she layed on her back. She tried to move when she heard Kagome moan. Her whole body was instantly filled with pain. Her hand came up to land on her stomach, fear for her child. She tried moving her legs, after several seconds they budged but the pain was unbearable. Suddenly someone was over her yelling, "I need an ambulance, I'm at 6th and Main. I lost control of my car and hit two people. Oh my god, one of them is pregnant please hurry." Sango tried to tell him to go check on Kagome but her voice failed her. As her world blacked out she heard him chanting to her. "No, stay with me. Stay with me."
