Kagome and Sango stopped in their tracks just inside the hut. Clothes were placed everywhere and two of the most beautiful kimono's they had ever seen was hanging against the wall. One was blue with full moons and Inu Youkai's facing each other in the moon. Their eyes seemed to glow. Kagome walked to them for a closer look. They had rubies for eyes. She stepped away from the kimono. It must have cost a small fortune. She walked to the other one which was pink with black flowers on it. At the center of each flower was a small diamond. Kagome whistled. Very expensive. She watched Sango inspect the kimono's too. Then they looked at each other then to the maids. "Who are these for?"

Utae smiled at the demoness. "The blue one is for you and the pink is for the taijiya."

"We can't wear those. We would never be able to pay for them if they should get ruined. " Kagome backed away from the kimono's and saw Sango follow her.

Benika sighed now they were being difficult. "My Ladies they are for you to do as you wish after today so it matters not if they get ruined." She took Kagome's hand and set her on a stool on one side of the room.

Sango saw Kagome being led to a stool and tried to back out the door.

Utae saw the slayer trying to leave the hut and blocked the door. Then she grabbed her hand and drug her to the stool on the other side of the hut from Kagome's.

For the next hour the girls were brushed, plucked and filed. After their hair was done the maids plucked any hair that was visible besides their eyebrows and eye lashes. Their eyebrows were shaped to the maids satisfaction and a calming lotion was applied to the irritated areas. Then they doned their kimono's. The maids had their obi's tied so tight they could barely breath. The girls could do well to walk. They could take small steps but nothing to big. They had to shuffle when they walked. Kagome tried to walk and Benika had to catch her as she fell. "Benika this is not going to work. We have to be able to walk."

Benika adjusted the kimono's so the girls could have more freedom to move. "See if that is better?"

Kagome tried to walk again. At least she could breath and walk now. "Much better thank you." Benika escorted her back to the stool and removed a box from the table behind her. She took out the crown and placed it on Kagome's head. A perfect fit. She fixed Kagome's hair around the crown to hold it in place. Then she took Kagome's arm and moved her to the futon that they had set up. "You are to stay there until our Lord arrives."

Kagome frowned at her but she was afraid to move around too much. She didn't want to mess up all the work that Benika had done. Neither did she want to have to go through all that pain again. So she just sat there watching Utae prepare Sango. She took out a tiara and placed it on Sango's head. Kagome had never seen Sango look prettier. She looked up as Benika returned to her side. She removed a necklace from another box and fastened it around Kagome's neck and then handed her a beautiful fan. Kagome opened the fan and found it matched her kimono.

Sango was led to another futon beside Kagome's and Utae helped her set down. "You are to remain seated also." She placed Sango's necklace on her and handed her the fan that matched her outfit. Then she got Benika and they left the hut. "How long do we have to sit here?"

"I do hope it is not long. But I am not about to move and have to suffer through all that grooming again. I think it is far safer to just stay put." Kagome opened her fan and used it to cool her face.

"I agree with you. I don't want to have to go through that again any time soon."
She copied Kagome and used her fan.

Sesshoumaru

He hurried with his meal and his bath. Then he returned to his room. He doned the kimono he had found in his closet earlier and brushed his hair. Then he doned his armor with some help from a guard and placed his swords back on his waist. He had to go to his study to retrieve a few things then he could leave.

Sesshoumaru walked to his study and removed a box from on top of one of the shelves. He had held on to this he didn't know why but at the moment he was glad he had. He dusted the box off then walked to his desk and picked up another smaller box. These should work now I have to go to the dojo to get the last one.

He left the castle to go to the dojo. He could feel the stares of his guards. But today he didn't care. He entered the dojo and went into the weapons room. He approached the racks with bows and selected one that would serve his purpose then he chose a quiver to go with it. Now he was ready to leave. He returned to gather the other items then took off.

Inuyasha was sitting in his tree. He had only caught site of the girls twice so far today. He could see the village getting more active. It was almost time for the festivities. Miroku was leaning against the tree below him. He didn't look to thrilled with what had transpired so far today either. Leave it to his brother to cause and uproar over something that was suppose to be fun. He watched Chiaki wrestle with the kids to get them ready. She looked worn out already and the festival hasn't even started yet. Well at least he hasn't been bothered by the kids all day. That was a good thing though. He sniffed the wind and Inuyasha jumped down from the tree. "My brother is coming shall we meet him at the hut?"

Miroku stood up and dusted off his robes. "Why not. Maybe they will let us see the girls now."

They walked to the hut and stopped when Sesshoumaru landed in front of them. "Hello little brother."

Inuyasha glared at him. "Why did you send all those people here today?"

"I thought that Kagome and the taijiya would enjoy a day of pampering. I have something that I wish to give you Inuyasha." He handed the big box to Inuyasha and then faced the priest. "Houshi these are for you." He handed the small box to the monk.

Inuyasha sat on the ground and opened his box and discovered some letters. He looked through them. One was from his mother and another from his father the last one was from his brother. Below the letters was a small pouch. He opened the pouch and dumped the contents into his hand. A crescent diamond fell into his palm. He looked from it to his brother.

Sesshoumaru watched his brother as he found the diamond. He would tell him later that it meant his status as the heir of the western lands was renewed. But that it would only last until Kagome had his pups.

Inuyasha opened the letter from his brother. He couldn't believe what the letter said. Sesshoumaru had got the Southern Lord to sign over all rights to Inuyasha's forest to him. He now owned the forest that had his name. Then he read the one from his father. Then the one from his mother. He didn't know how Sesshoumaru got them but he was glad that he finally got to read them. He had to be alone for a while and think about things. He turned from his brother and walked back to his tree.

Miroku opened the box that Sesshoumaru had given him. It had silver prayer beads in it. He looked at Sesshoumaru in question.

"I didn't know if you had an extra set. I would hate for you to loose the ones on your right hand. So I got you a back up set." Sesshoumaru nodded to the monk and headed for the hut. He saw the priestess approaching him. So he stopped to wait on her. "Lady Kaede I wish to thank you for letting my servants take over your hut today." He took the bow and quiver off his back and gave them to the priestess.

"Ye did not have to give these to me for that simple task Lord Sesshoumaru. But I thank ye for the gift." Kaede bowed to Sesshoumaru "Would ye like to see what thee servants have done to Kagome." She laughed a little and nodded to her hut.

Sesshoumaru turned to her hut and entered it. He stopped when he saw Kagome sitting on a futon. She was fanning herself with the fan that Ryouji had made for her. She looked lovely and very royal. She would make a good lady for the western lands.

Kagome turned to see who entered the hut. Oh no he was wearing that black kimono. How was she suppose to stay mad at him when he wore that outfit. She was doomed. She hid her face behind her fan.

Sango saw Sesshoumaru enter the hut. He was in trouble now. She waited for Kagome to yell and scream at him. And she waited. She looked at Kagome and saw her trying to hide a blush behind her fan. Well so much for her yelling and screaming. One look at Sesshoumaru and she turned into a puddle. And she knew she couldn't say anything. She didn't want to anger him. Kagome would be safe but she wasn't sure about herself.

Kagome finally pulled herself together enough to stand up. Or at least she tried to. She fell back down and started laughing. Then she heard Sango join in. "Wait till you try to stand up then I want to see you laugh." She looked at Sesshoumaru and saw his eyes twinkling. He was laughing at her. How dare he.

Sesshoumaru saw Kagome trying to get up but she fell back down. It was a funny site to see. He held his mask in place though and walked up to Kagome and offered her a helping hand up. "You look beautiful Kagome." He leaned down and placed a chaste kiss on her mouth. He then turned to Sango "You look lovely also Sango."

"Thank you Lord Sesshoumaru but if I may ask why did you send all this stuff for me? I could understand Kagome because you have a thing for her but why me?"

Sesshoumaru turned to look at the taijiya. "I did it for two reasons. One because Kagome considers you a sister and two as leader of your clan you should look the part." He heard the door open and watched the monk walk in. He noticed that the monk had placed the silver beads around his hand. He turned to face the monk. "May I talk to the girls alone for a few minutes. Then you may return Houshi." He watched the monk nod to him then leave the hut again. "Taijiya I have given you a greater present today. You may thank Inuyasha for this one though. It was from him that I came up with the idea. I gave the monk a set of prayer beads. When ever he touches your backside all you have to do is say Baka and he will be subdued. If he tries to touch another girl other than you, well lets just say it shouldn't take him long to curb his wayward hands and ways."

Sango looked at Sesshoumaru then to the door. Then she started laughing. She couldn't wait to see it work.

Miroku heard Sango laugh and decided it was time to return to the hut. He had barely caught a glimpse of her earlier before Sesshoumaru asked him to leave for a few more minutes. He walked into the hut to find both girls laughing and when they saw him they laughed harder. He looked to Sesshoumaru but couldn't get a clue from him. He had his stoic face on and no one could tell what he was thinking. He turned to Sango and felt his mouth go dry. She was beautiful. She looked like a princess. He walked over to her and offered her his hand. "Lady Sango would you accompany me to the festival this evening?"

Sango couldn't believe how nice Miroku was acting. She put her hand in his and went to stand. She too fell backwards and almost pulled Miroku down on top of her. She could hear Kagome laughing at her and she tried again. This time Miroku helped her a little more. She finally stood before the monk and was surprised when he placed her hand on his arm and he escorted her outside.

Sesshoumaru faced Kagome and pulled her hand up to his mouth. He placed a light kiss on her knuckles. "Lady Kagome would you kindly accompany me to the festival tonight."

Like she could turn down a request like that. "Yes Lord Sesshoumaru I would."
She was still weak kneed because of his outfit. He could ask her anything wearing that and she wouldn't be able to turn him down. Not that she would let him know that though.

He took her arm and laced it through his and he walked her out of the hut. It was time to show his lady off.
