A Royal Pain

Morning came and Sesshoumaru still slept allowing himself to cuddle up with his beloved Inuyasha who was lightly snoring. The two of them looked so beautiful together that Kagome didn’t want to wake them as she climbed out of bed.

Pulling on the cord that would call the servants, Kagome was dressed appropriately for the ceremony that would be held for her and her friends’ new change from human to hanyou. She truly hoped that when she became hanyou that Sesshoumaru would accept her a little more, but after years of prejudice, it was hard for Kagome to trust his sudden change of heart when it came to his mating her husband when he growled ‘half breed’ to his little brother all these years calling him a disgrace to their family. Kagome just hoped that Sesshoumaru would not hurt Inuyasha or she would find a way of purifying his ass straight to hell.

Kagome also worried about her miko powers. Would she lose them all when she became a hanyou? In some ways it would be nice to be able to keep her purification powers, but it wasn’t just as simple as that. Part of Kagome would be human and that part of her was indeed pure even with the copulation that she shared with Inuyasha. In fact it was a relief that Kagome still had her powers after Inuyasha had taken her virginity.

The biggest thing of course was Kagome’s hope that no matter what happened to her that Inuyasha would still love her. If he did not than she would know for sure that Inuyasha was indeed just like his brother, a judgmental asshole. Kagome hoped he wouldn’t be that way, but Inuyasha was indeed favoring his brother over her since they got home from the war with the dragon demons.

Like last night, the two brothers cuddled while she was tucked in like a child and left to sleep without the warmth of her husband. If it was going to be that way every night than she might as well have her own room. Perhaps it was a bit of jealousy making her feel this way, but the feelings she felt were justified. Inuyasha was obviously in love with his elder brother and vice versa. It was a love she could not and would not give to Inuyasha since she was not directly family. Kagome could never be a sister to Inuyasha and would not want that role in her life.

Kagome was wise enough to know that Inuyasha always wanted acceptance from his elder brother and although this was an odd way of showing it, Inuyasha was indeed getting what he desired. The hole that was once in Inuyasha’s and Sesshoumaru’s hearts was now filled. Kagome hoped that if their Father was watching from above that he would be proud of the two brothers who were finally not fighting anymore.

The other thing Kagome hoped was that she would start feeling included in her husband’s relationship with his brother. It wasn’t that she wanted to have sex with Sesshoumaru. That was something that she hoped would not happen. Kagome just wanted what was fair and so far with this sharing business it had been all about Sesshoumaru and his wants. Perhaps she would understand this selfish streak once she became a hanyou.

Kaimu was there to greet his Lady as he took Kagome to the dining hall where Lady Luna was setting up arrangements for breakfast.

“Ah, Kagome. It is good you are awake. We need to get the breakfast preparations finished before the Lords awaken.”

Kagome followed Luna into the kitchen where once again they prepared a breakfast feast which included some of the left over meats from the night before.

The glazed ham was brought out once again for the humans along with freshly cut melons, wild strawberries, large Asian pears, kushi dango (sweet dumplings), and wild rice cakes.

Most of the demon fare was finished off last night so Luna ordered the dried raw meat put into some kind of blood porridge, there also was some deer meat and lightly roasted boar from the morning’s hunt.

In the mornings demons like Luna would not eat much if at all. Normally they would eat one big meal and go for days without having to feast again so Luna ordered some nice hot jasmine tea for those who did not want to feast.

Koga came into the kitchen area and smelled the good smells in there. He would definitely eat this morning although he didn’t have to. It was rare when the demon tribe got to eat good like this and he hoped any leftovers could go to his men since the Heron demons left last night after they had feasted since the servants of the castle had plenty to eat. He would ask Inuyasha about that later.

“Koga……”

Kagome said about losing her breath at the gorgeous wolf now that his hair was down. She had to admit Koga was defiantly a hottie even if the two of them were not meant to be.

“Hi Kagome. I was just looking around for my hair ties when I smelled the food from the hallway and came to see what we are having.”

Luna smirked at the wolf cub. He was a cutie pie and looked as though he just got out of bed while he rubbed his eyes with his fists yawning.

“I trust you slept well Lord Koga.”

Luna stated.

“As well as I could my Lady. I still prefer the outdoors so forgive me if I am not (yawn) all fancied up this morning. It is always nice to wake up and see gorgeous women taking care of us men.”

Koga smiled at Kagome who immediately blushed. Luna hid her blush behind her fan.

Soon there was a ruckus heard as Inuyasha rushed into the kitchen.

“I don’t care what you say Sesshoumaru, I am going to find my wife!”

Sesshoumaru walked in pouting a bit since he wanted to have sex with his mate this morning before Inuyasha took off out of bed. All Inuyasha could see was that his wife was gone and he wasn’t pleased in the slightest that she left them alone.

“There you are. I have been looking all over this fucking castle for you.”

Inuyasha stated as he put an arm around his wife’s waist kissing her.

“Inuyasha. I had to get up and help with the duties of a Lady of the Manor. You should know that.”

Kagome scolded as Luna watched in amusement since both boys were still in their robes and pajamas.

“Good morning Mother.”

Sesshoumaru stated as he also smelled the good smells from the kitchen. He wasn’t really hungry, but the food smelled so good he would have to eat some of it.

“Hey Koga, what happened to your hair?”

Inuyasha asked.

Koga shrugged.

“Can’t find my damn hair ties.”

Inuyasha went to touch the long hair just out of curiosity when Sesshoumaru growled at him.

“Shut up Sess……I just want to see if it is as soft as it looks.”

Koga rolled his eyes as he allowed Inuyasha to touch his hair.

“It’s not like you haven’t seen me before with my hair down mutt face.”

Inuyasha shrugged.

“So is it soft Inuyasha?”

Sesshoumaru asked as he too touched the wolf’s hair.

“Ya, but he still smells like wimpy wolf. I am sure that we can get one of the servants to get ya a new hair tie if you wanna put it up. It looks better down though.”

Inuyasha stated as he went back to Kagome putting a possessive arm around her waist once again.

“So now can we all leave the kitchen since everyone has had a chance to touch the wolf?”

Luna stated as she also had petted the wolf for a second.

Sesshoumaru nodded as the group left the kitchen.

“Are you boys going to change into something more appropriate?”

Sesshoumaru looked at himself and then at Inuyasha.

“I think we are dressed well enough for breakfast. After we eat we will change into something else. For now we are quite comfortable.”

Luna sighed deciding not to push the boys into behaving like Lords.

Sesshoumaru took his seat at the dining table and ordered some of the jasmine tea for them all to sip on while waiting for breakfast.

“So Koga, I guess you are leaving today.”

Koga nodded.

“I am planning on leaving after breakfast. We have a long run back to our caves and now that we got the dragon demons secured there is really no reason for me to stick around.”

Inuyasha pouted a bit at the news. He had enjoyed Koga’s company.

“What if there is news of a battle since we didn’t get all of the dragon demons?”

Sesshoumaru pat Inuyasha’s hand.

“There is no reason to worry over such things Inuyasha. If there is an uprising we will quell it. I left enough Inu demons behind to insure that if the few dragon demons are indeed still lurking about we can utilize the fact that we hold many of their family members hostage until a new leader is appointed. The East and North agree with my plan to try and find a worthy dragon demon to rule since we do not really wish for the lands to be split apart. Our goal is to avoid another war if possible and try to gain peace once again in the South.”

Inuyasha thought about that.

“So what do we do if they are hostile?”

Sesshoumaru’s look said everything.

“You would kill them all?”

Inuyasha didn’t like that one bit.

“We would kill only the ones that are hostile Inuyasha. We are not planning on genocide since the ones with us are peaceful, but if that changes I will have no other choice except to remove the threat.”

Inuyasha then nodded as he sipped his tea.

Kagome and Luna sat down at the table wondering what was keeping Sango and Miroku so long.

“If the slayer and monk do not show themselves soon they will miss breakfast.”

Luna stated as she sent Kaimu to fetch them.
