A Royal Pain

Inuyasha took Kagome down the hallway to the healers.

“I am sorry Inuyasha. I didn’t mean for the rat to bite me. I really wish I had my first aid kit with me so that we didn’t have to worry about waking anyone up.”

Inuyasha sighed.

“Don’t worry about it Kagome and quit apologizing. It isn’t like you did it on purpose. We aren’t going to wake up anyone. The healers work in shifts so that there is always one of them on call just in case something happens.”

The healer was an old Inu demon with blue eyes and silver hair that went to the middle of his back. He was going over some paperwork when Kagome and Inuyasha entered.

“Sire, what can I do for you?”

The healer bowed than asked as he led the two royals into the royal wing bidding them to sit down.

“My wife was bitten by a good sized rat.”

The healer looked at the wound. It wasn’t too bad, but rats were dirty animals so it did need to be cleaned and dressed.

“Yes, I see. Well, let’s get this cleaned up and dressed.”

Pulling out a blue crystal the healer placed it upon Kagome’s wound and with a wave of his hand the crystal glowed removing the possible infection and cleansing the wound. Soon it dimmed and the healer took it off of Kagome’s hand. Then the healer concentrated on the wound placing a small yellow piece of cloth upon the wound muttering a short incantation and the wound was closed as if it had never been there.

Kagome was amazed. No healers in her time would have been able to do what this man did in mere seconds.

“Thank you.”

Kagome stated as the healer chuckled.

“No need to thank me. I am just doing my job my Lady.”

At that both Kagome and Inuyasha left the healers to go back to their room.

Koga was trying his best to sleep in the large bed that he was given to rest in, but it was too damn soft. So eventually he pulled all the blankets to the floor and curled up into them putting the soft white fur blanket on the end of the bed on top making him suddenly feel at home.

There was so much about this palace that seemed empty to Koga. It was a place of walls where his caves were open to all his people and filled with forests that seemed never ending. Koga was unsure about how canines could live under such conditions when the forests were so welcoming and full of life. How Lord Sesshoumaru and especially Inuyasha live in such a confined space was beyond Koga’s understanding.

Koga was also unsure about the morning. He was going to witness the spell that would turn Kagome and the other humans into hanyous. It would be interesting to see what kind of half demons they would be kind of hoping they would be of the Canine family.

Still, if Kagome ended up being a cat demon he would still love her. Kagome was a sweet girl with a good heart. If that mutt face Inuyasha refused to have her if she was a cat than Koga would take her back to his home as a second mate.

Ignoring the large rat that ran into his room stealing his hair ties, Koga went to sleep.

Sesshoumaru tried to rest, but it wasn’t working. He had rolled to his left for a moment finding no comfort as his legs were sprawled on the bed then moved to the right. Unable to get comfortable Sesshoumaru sat up against the pillows sulking.

Sesshoumaru knew he should act like an adult about this whole sharing situation, but he just couldn’t stand that Inuyasha wasn’t in here with him. Inuyasha needed to be in the bed with him. It was the only way he was ever going to get sleep.

What the hell was taking his Inuyasha so long? Kagome could have gone on her own to the healers, but no…….Sesshoumaru had to be unselfish and let his mate take his wife to the healers. Sesshoumaru figured he just had to be going soft or something.

Being an only child for all those years before Inuyasha was born, Sesshoumaru had been spoiled rotten getting everything he wanted most of the time. It was rare when the demon Lord was told no by someone and usually if such a thing occurred he would kill or maim whatever it was that said no to him.

Totosai had the gall to tell Sesshoumaru no on many occasions, but Sesshoumaru of course with idol threats got his way for the most part. Other than his parents and Totosai, Sesshoumaru was rarely refused anything. If he wanted something bad enough he would get it.

Tonight was no different. Sesshoumaru would get what he wanted. Besides these humans he had to put up with owed him so they should just be where he wanted them to be. He was Lord and didn’t Lords get what they wanted especially if they were the King of all Demons like he was?

Soon he heard his mate and his brother’s wife returning to the bedroom. Sesshoumaru wanted to yell at them about taking so long, although they really had only been gone for like twenty minutes.

Inuyasha looked up at his sulking mate who looked quite childish. Inuyasha was kind of pissed about Sesshoumaru’s childish looks when he was supposed to be the younger of the two.

“What is wrong Sesshoumaru?”

Inuyasha asked after tucking his wife into bed wondering what the hell was up his brother’s but now.

“I couldn’t sleep while you were gone. This bed is too big and empty without you here.”

Inuyasha sighed. This was stupid. His big brother looked like someone stole his puppy.

“I wasn’t gone that long Sess.”

Fact was Sesshoumaru was a dog demon and dogs do not have a sense of time so for Sesshoumaru the twenty minutes seemed like an eternity. Even Inuyasha would sulk when Kagome left since it was the same way with his dog demon. When the one you loved was gone it was like they left you all alone on purpose which hurt their feelings.

Inuyasha climbed into be only to have Sesshoumaru pull him into his arms as he nuzzled his mate.

“I missed you.”

Sesshoumaru stated softly.

Inuyasha rolled his eyes and tried to make himself comfortable in Sesshoumaru’s arms.

“I don’t know how you could have missed me when I wasn’t gone that long. We really need to work on your separation anxiety. You have no reason to feel put out when you know I would be coming back. Like I could ever leave you ya crazy person.”

Sesshoumaru smiled.

“You promise me that you won’t leave me?”

Inuyasha smirked. Sesshoumaru was just a big puppy.

“I promise I won’t leave you. Next time we take Kagome to the healers you will come with us since I am not going to ignore my wife Sess. You are just going to have to get used to sharing. You knew this before we mated so it shouldn’t be a big surprise Sesshoumaru.”

Sesshoumaru had to admit that he hated sharing anything with anyone. Still he did agree to the fact that Kagome would indeed be sharing his bed and his mate. It was just really hard for the diayouki who was used to having everything handed to him on a silver spoon.

“Fine, but I don’t have to like it.”

Inuyasha wanted to laugh at his mate for being such a big baby.

“Well you better get used to it since my wife will be a hanyou tomorrow and will be my second mate.”

Sesshoumaru frowned while holding Inuyasha in his arms.

“I don’t know if this spell will work on a miko or a monk so don’t get your hopes up Inuyasha. Hiro and I have only done this spell one time on a human servant which turned him into an aardvark hanyou. He wasn’t too pretty, I can tell you that much. He would have been better off as a human.’
“We cannot control what kind of hanyou the spell makes the individual so I seriously hope you are prepared Inuyasha.”

Inuyasha smiled.

“It won’t matter what kind of hanyou Kagome becomes since I will always love her.”

Sesshoumaru shrugged, then cuddled into Inuyasha as they drifted off to sleep.
