Aftermath
Chapter Thirty-Three
"Kagome!"
She groaned when she saw Eri coming out of the door yelling her name. She got out of the car to confront the girl. "I'm sorry I got you also."
The girl stopped in front of her pissed and screaming, Rin got out the car and walked to Kagome's side. Eri ignored her, "Look you told me you didn't care if I dated him because you were with that ugly thing. Now I finally get him and you are trying to ruin it for me. What kind of friend are you? Stop being so jealous dammit. He's mine now got it, you or no one else is going to come between us."
"Rin don't." Kagome cringed when she saw the girl's fist land in Eri's face knocking the girl back. She grabbed her arms trying to hold her back. Rin's foot went up kicking the girl in the stomach, "Rin, get in the damn car now." Her hand went for the door shoving the girl in the backseat. She hit the lock, and quickly got in. As she drove off she spotted the others running towards the downed girl.
"I can't believe you did that." She broke out in laughter, it was either that or cry. "I'm not saying she didn't deserved it but damn Rin."
Rin layed down in the backseat trying to calm down, anger and sadness consumed her. Tears streamed down her cheeks, she hadn't meant to attack the girl. Her claim on him had caused uncontrollable anger. It didn't matter if it was true or not, having it flaunted in her face had hurt. Seeing him kiss another woman had broken her heart. She cried on the trip back home, the tears continued after they returned to the shrine.
Hiei watched the girl's going into the house, Kagome holding onto Rin. He scanned her mind to see what had her so upset. He'd been trying to stay out of it, not wanting to evade her private thoughts. What he saw made him scowl. No wonder the girl wanted to stay with the inuyoukai. He sat pondering what the fox had to have been thinking treating the girl that way.
He left the tree and made his way over to the fox's apartment. He jumped in the window landing quietly, he could sense the fox downstairs. Seemed he wasn't alone, the girl from the movies with him still. The fox had to know he was there so he sat down and waited.
Several minutes later the bedroom door was opened. Kurama walked in not really wanting to speak to anyone at the moment. Hiei had to have stopped by for a reason best to see what he wanted. His emotions were in turmoil after hearing Eri speak. Seemed she'd gone out to confront Kagome, then Rin had told Eri not to yell at Kagome because he wasn't worth it, wasn't worth having as a boyfriend. He knew Eri thought the girl was merely repeating something Kagome had said. But she had to have been speaking for herself.
Eri said she had struck Rin in anger, then the girl had attacked back. It explained the bloody nose the girl was now carrying. "What do you want Hiei?"
"What are you doing with that pathetic excuse for a female when you have a mate?"
"As far as I'm concerned I don't have one. I will do as I please, she isn't my concern. I have washed my hands of her." His voice shook with his anger.
"Is that so?"
"Yes, I will do what I want, she can do whatever she wants. As long as she stays away from me."
Hiei snorted, the fox was a fool. "So she is free is she? Thanks I'll keep that in mind, unlike you I find her interesting." He left knowing it would get a reaction out of the man.
Kurama stared at the empty space scowling. 'Don't you even think about it Hiei.'
