Chapter Thirty


Jin grabbed the girl by the waist and took off, he could hear Hiei shouting as they took flight. Kagome felt the air rush by her as he held onto her tight. He lowered them so she could see everything below them. It was breathtaking to say the least. She could see youkai walking around, no bigger than ants.

She could hear the youkai behind her laughing as he continued to show her the sights. They passed a tower, circling around it. The youkai standing on it jumped out of their skins. She laughed at hearing their shouts of anger.

Jin decided to do a drive by, he swept past the balcony on the return trip. He started laughing at seeing the fire youkai glaring at him. He wouldn't be returning that way it seemed.

Kagome looked at the balcony as they went past, and saw her standing there with Hiei. Her heart dropped at the sight, suddenly she wanted to return to her room. "Can you get me to my room?"

He nodded, he knew that the guest were in the north wing, he'd drop her off there. He saw the balcony for it and aimed for it. He landed on his feet releasing her.

She turned and smiled at him, "Thank you, that was fun."

"Welcome."

She turned and entered the building needing some space and time alone.


Taree followed him into a room, looked like a study of some kind. He offered her a seat which she refused. He was probably mad about her earlier comments. She placed her hands in front of linking her fingers together. "So when do you youkai eat? I'm getting kind of hungry."

"Eat your snake."

"Kiss my ass Blindie."

"Is that an offer?"

"Hmph, sorry no it's not. Now what did you want to talk to me about?" She really was getting hungry and grumpy. Guess being shoved off a high building was having it's effects on her.

"I wanted to ask if you understood what you were going to do. You do realize what could happen if you used the power of the stone don't you?" He came to stand in front of her.

"Yes, I know. I know there's a good chance it will happen."

"Yet you are still willing to try?" He waited for her answer.

"Of course."

"Would you be willing to let me help you?" He placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Why would you do that?" She eyed him, then his hand. It gave a light squeeze then started to run along her arm.

"I have my reasons. Think about it." He smiled at her. He could feel her getting nervous around him. "Now about your earlier display of disrespect. I am true to my word, you will be dealt with."

She gasped in suprise, "What do you plan on doing about it?" His intent became obvious when his hand cupped her face. She started swinging her hands up in the air backing away. "Hold up stop right there, hold the phone. I know you weren't about to just kiss me."

"No, I was about to seduce you."

She almost choked on her shock, my he was blunt. "Why the hell would you wanna do that? Haven't you heard I suck in bed."

"Now, why would you believe that?" He couldn't imagine her being anything but exquisite.

"Don't ask, if you really want to know ask Yusuke I'm sure he'll let you know how terrible I am." She turned on her heels and walked out the room. Maybe that would cool him down, no one wanted to sleep with someone that was rumored to suck.

His interest was piqued, so they had slept together. Then why weren't the two together? Hiei had warned him about Yusuke's interest in the girl but he hadn't believed it. The boy acted like he couldn't stand her, then again it was probably an act to hide the way he really felt. Either way it didn't matter. The boy was a fool not to put a claim on the girl, something he was going to take advantage of.

Taree found her way back to the rooms, she decided she needed a shower. It was nice to have your own bathroom. All she had to change into was the set of clothing she'd brought. Nothing more than a pair of shorts and a tanktop. Something to sleep in. She climbed under the hot water, letting it refresh her.

She stayed under the spray long after she was done. She wasn't sure how she felt about Yomi trying to jump her. Yeah she did, he was attractive but she didn't want him. The one she wanted hated her with a passion. She turned the water off and climbed out. Her ears perked when the bedroom door slid open and shut.

She got the towel and wrapped it around herself, seeing who had just entered her room. "What the hell are you doing in here?" Yusuke was standing just inside the door waiting for her.

He stared at her, he'd come to apologize to her. His voice suddenly stuck in his throat at seeing her dripping wet and in a towel. "Came to talk to you."

"I have nothing to say to you, get out now." He was making her nervous, why the hell was he staring?

His anger flared, "Sorry for not being Yomi or Touya, I'll leave you alone."

"Fuck you, you jerk! Get out of my damn room, just in case one of them decide to come. Can't have you here when they arrive." She yelled at him, take that. Her eyes widened when he stormed across the room.


Kagome heard Taree screaming and wondered who was in the room with her. She got up to walk across the hall, her door slid open. She came face to face with Hiei. "Uh, Hiei." He still looked pissed for whatever reason. "Did you need something?" She gasped when he yanked her to him. His mouth slanted over hers, she closed her eyes.

She returned the kiss as he picked her up and the door slid close behind him.

A/N: I just have to make a comment here. Have you ever noticed on the show that on a lot of the fights, especially Yusuke and Hiei they lose their shirts? The attacks seem to have a way of ripping shirts, how come the pants never get torn off? Just a thought.
If Hiei calling the dragon has a way of ripping off his shirt, why won't it take his pants too? *Drool*
