Gomen for waiting too loooonnnggg to update, but well it's been a busy month for me. First of all, whoever cast the mental block hasn't lifted it yet, so there. If this chappy's not that good, it's not my entire fault *sigh*. And plus I've been poring over work for this past month because I plan to go home to the Philippines for a 1 month vacation at least! *wiggles in excitement* So you can understand my reasons. Plus, I haven't been able to use the pc for about a week because of the Golden Week celebration here in Japan, and my family decided to spend some 'quality time' together. ~*~Chapter 32—Retribution~*~
Sesshomaru heard the wheeze of the arrow as its’ released and he knew it isn’t Kikyou. He swivels his head back to where Naraku is, just in time to hear the battle cry and the barrier disappear. There’s only one who has that insolent voice…
They’re both not dead.
~*~
Sango’s head snapped up as the familiar roar reached them. Miroku and her looked back to where the mates are, and almost toppled off Kirara’s back in astonishment. Lo and behold, they were both standing, with not a scratch in their body, fighting mad.
It seems he hasn’t killed her…
“Kagome-chan! Inuyasha!”

This isn’t supposed to happen… the bitch should have been dead and Inuyasha should’ve been crawling back to her.
This wasn’t part of the plan.
Kikyou narrowed her eyes at the brilliant master planner. All bets are off now.
‘He failed…’
~*~
Naraku’s ire leapt out of rational thinking as he realized his failure. All the careful planning, all the effort he’s put into this… wasted. And it’s just because of a hanyou and a girl who isn’t even properly trained to be called a miko!
That should’ve probably given him an idea of how things would go, but no. He would not give up. He had to show them, especially “her”, that he is better.
And so he reined in his temper and controlled himself enough to face them mockingly.
“Why, oh why do you seem to have the lives of a cat, Inuyasha? I kill you over and over again—with your lovely mate—but you just won’t die. Could it possibly be because you’re actually ‘Neko-yasha’, hmm?”
The hanyou surprised him by not responding immediately. Instead, he braced the Tetsusaiga upon his shoulders (his usual pose), and held Kagome’s hand in one of his.
“Keh! I guess that means you’re just too weak and too incompetent for me, asshole. So I suggest you shut the fuck up ‘coz we both know it’s not my funeral that’s going on today!” Inuyasha talked back with his usual confidence and arrogance intact.
And with that, prepared to give Naraku Hell.
“Kaze no Kizu!”

Sesshomaru heard the exchange, and immediately pushed at the youkai surrounding them. He now became the aggressor, mercilessly using Tokijin as a slaughter device.
The miko behind him helped too, fusing her purifying energy with his. In no time at all, they were halfway near Naraku.
‘Just a little bit more…’
~*~
“Hiraikotsu!” Sango yelled out as she released her weapon, helping distract the enemy for a moment. Kirara kept biting and tearing apart youkai as they go. Miroku, with staff in hand and prayer beads at the ready, got down the moment the fire-cat demon’s paws touched the ground.
They knew the drill; it has always been this way when they fought, no matter how injured they were. The men on their feet while their ladies fight together.
“Where do you think you’re go” In” Inuyasha gripped Kagome’s hand more tightly in his, preventing her from riding Kirara’s back.
“You can’t fight if I’m riding behind your back, Inuyasha. Or if you have to worry about me and look behind you every time. You’ll get hurt more. Let me go now, we have to hurry. Naraku will fight back any time now,” Kagome took the time to explain to her mate.
Inuyasha reluctantly let her go; watching as she rode behind Sango on Kirara’s back. At least she would be protected…
“Ready, Inuyasha?”
Inuyasha turned his attention to the monk who’s now beside him. His appearance appalled the hanyou; several cuts appear on his body, all of them deep. Not to mention the wounds on his back. It was a wonder he could even stand.
“Hell, Miroku! What the fuck happened to you!? Can you still walk?”
“Hai, Inuyasha. This is nothing don’t worry about me. I had a run-in with Kohaku and well,” Miroku shrugged as though that explained everything.
Inuyasha just nodded, mumbling something about talking about it later. His whole attention is now focused on Naraku.
“Let’s get this over with,”

The battle became intense— grueling at the most. Inuyasha kept up constant attack against Naraku with the Kaze no Kizu when he’s not close enough to slash at him. Sesshomaru in his end, worked with Inuyasha to bring the black hanyou to a quick end.
The others took care of Naraku’s fiends while all Naraku could do is defend himself.
It seems like it would be an easy victory…
But like in every mêlée, one tends to forget their enemies’ strength and underestimate them.
But Naraku never forgot.
He defended his self against them, all the while waiting for the chance to show them his true power. The power of the Jewel of the Four Souls… without even making the wish.
He dodged and attacked a little, his true form allowing his multiple limbs to lash out at them.
And then his moment came…
He called out to his underlings, assembling them to launch a diverse attack against the group. While his minions are divesting his enemies’ attentions and keeping them busy, he levitated to the most possible altitude he could manage and cupped the Shikon no Tama in both hands.
“You think you can destroy me just like that? Do you think that I do not have enough power to withstand yours? You forget what I hold in my hands, weaklings. All of this foolishness will stop. Right here, right now,” Naraku vowed just before he raised the jewel to absorb it in his body.

They all looked up in horror and disbelief as Naraku’s words penetrated their minds. They were pretty sure their triumph would be close in hand… but they did forget about the jewel. Now Naraku is taking in the power of the Shikon no Tama into his self. And that means trouble.
Another light engulfed the dark hanyou as the jewel joined with him. He’s at the center of the battleground, and the impact of the absorption threw the comrades far apart.
The blinding light reached them as they shaded their eyes from its’ glow. Sango and Kagome, who is much closer to Naraku’s location because of Kirara, are pushed backwards brutally away from him. The fire-cat demon reeled and both ladies held on for dear life.
But they were not so lucky…
Because of the struggle to keep a hold on Sango and a hold on her bow, Kagome fumbled and started to fall, shock evident on her face as gravity pulled her down. Sango looked back in time to see her best friend dropping to the ground, her fear apparent.
“Kagome-chan!!!”

Miroku and Inuyasha managed to stay together throughout the ordeal, using both the Tetsusaiga’s and the monk’s spiritual power to form some kind of barrier to protect them somewhat from the blows. And then he heard it.
“Kagome-chan!!!”
Inuyasha’s eyes scannhe she space above them to find whatever it is he’s looking for. When his eyes fixed on his target, his heart almost fell out of his chest at what he saw.
His mate is falling fast, nose-diving to the earth to her sure and imminent death.
Without even stopping to think and before he himself could even blink, he’s moving to Kagome’s position as fast as his legs could allow him to. Adrenaline rushed up to aid him in his quest, with only one thought ricocheting on his mind.
‘Not again. Never again, Kagome,’ Inuyasha thought as he prayed fervently to whatever god it is above him to help him get to her in time…

Miroku’s gaze followed Inuyasha, puzzled at the hanyou’s actions. Then he happened to look above.
“Oh, merciful Buddha!” the monk exclaimed as he saw the Lady Kagome suspended in the air for what seemed like an eternity before crashing down rapidly.
‘I hope Inuyasha gets there in time,’
Then he looked further behind the miko, just in time to see his own lady careening backwards with her pet. Kirara gave out a loud, angry roar just before losing consciousness and they too began their fast descent to the ground. Sango’s cry followed closely.
“Sango!!!” Miroku thought his heart stopped for that fraction of a moment. Then he too, went with his instinct and ran towards her with a speed he never even thought he possessed. All the while he was praying to his god to give him the strengthsavesave her and the chance…

The Lord of the Western Lands heard all of the commotion going around him, and even saw his sister-in-law plunging downward to her demise. But he could not do anything; he was too farther away and has his own predicament.
‘Inuyasha will not allow her to die. He won’t let her leave him,’ was Sesshomaru’s thought before he concentrated all of Tokijin’s energy and countered the force coming towards him and the miko.
Then he grabbed Kikyou into his good sword arm and leapt out of the way of the collision, while she managed to form a barrier around the two of them. But they still landed has tas the intensity reached them.

Kagura is thrown off Naraku’s side as he unleashed the power of the Shikon no Tama. In her fear of being purified, she hurriedly flew away from its’ source and breathed a sigh of relief in her successful escape. Good thing she controlled the winds.
Then she remembered something.
‘The wolfnce!nce!’
She frantically looked downwards to seek the mates. And then she saw them. Kouga is trying hard to keep his hold on Ayame while protecting her with his own body as the impact damaged his already mutilated body.
‘He will not be able to last anymore!’ was her last coherent thought before flying down fast at them and sending her whirlwinds to protect them both.
“Ryuuja no mai!”

‘This is it—I’m going to die here and now. Oh Mama, please forgive me,’ Kagome thought as she fought back the tears bravely and closed her eyes at the sight of the ground rushing up at her.
Then she thought of her mate.
‘Gomen, Inuyasha. It seems like the Fates are ever fighting for us not to be together. But it was good, that I at least had the chance to tell you that I love you…’
And there the tears she held began to fall in time with her.
She braced herself for the pain it will cause her, and praying to God that it will be quick. She resigned herself to her Fate, knowing that no one could save her now—not even Inuyasha.
“Kagomeeeeeeee!!!!!”
Her eyes flew open at the sound of her name being called out by a familiar voice. She twisted her whole body around to see…
And there he was, running and leaping towards her for all he was worth. It seemed as though he’s flying at the speed he’s going. But he can’t be there in time she knew that.
‘Shinjiteru, Kanai,’
Her eyes dilated at the voice in her head. And she thought that she believed in him in the past, and had no reason to doubt him now. No matter how impossible things became, Inuyasha still pulled through for her.
“Aishiteru, Inuyasha-kun,” Kagome whispered to him, her eyes never leaving his as she gave him her whole trust once again.
Inuyasha seemed to understand, his amber eyes glowing as determination etched itself in his face.
He increased his pace, forcing his limbs to their limits. He cannot let her down…
Just before she landed flat on her back to the ground, she held out her hands to him and he leapt towards her with all his might, knocking them both back to the solid dirt but twisting their bodies so that she’s on top.
Kagome quickly raised her head off Inuyasha’s chest as she looked at him with worry in her eyes.
Inuyasha’s eyes were closed while his arms remained firmly around her. At her movement, he opened his amber orbs to look at her and smiled slightly.
“Gotcha,”

Miroku held his breath as he stopped where he calculated the taijiya would fall. She got thrown off the back of her pet when they fell down. And it’s a good thing, since he couldn’t bear the weight of Kirara too.
Her pet dropped down first with a thud, not far from where he’s standing. The monk threw his staff to the dirt as he positioned his arms to catch his lady, praying all the while that he’s correct.
Amazingly, he is. His knees buckled under the force of the fall and her weight and he fell to one knee, looking at her eyes screwed tight. His fingers gently skimmed her cheek as her eyes flew open in alarm.
“Houshi-sama!”
“Hai, Sango. Do you remember when I told you I would catch you no matter how high you fell? You should’ve believed me,” Miroku said as he proceeded to fondle her backside.
Sango blushed at the words, then her eyelids twitched at the familiar feeling of the monk’s hands in her ass. She gently but firmly, pushed off him.
“Don’t make me hit you unconscious now, houshi!”

Naraku heard his detachment giving out her battle cry, and thought that she’s finishing her job with the wolf-prince now. Good girl.
As the light dissipated around him, he marveled at the feeling of the Shikon no Tama within his body. Surprisingly, it chose its’ own resting place. The spider mark on his back.
But he’s not one to complain. Not after he discovered that he could grow into five times the size he was, not to mention the power and strength the jewel afforded him.
It’s payback time…
He faced back to his enemies, smirking when he saw that all of the men had a hard time protecting their own woman. And even now, the wolf-prince is probably dead. Thanks to Kagura.
“Do you see now, you mortals? Do you still think that you can take me on?” Naraku cackled maliciously as he leered at them one by one.
“Now face my wrath!”

All the youkais have been purified, but Naraku made up for the loss of his fiends. It’s a wonder how that big of a creature could move as fast as he could. From the way he’s attacking, it would seem as though he has multiple bodies instead of just one.
They were now at the defense.
The Kaze no Kizu is no match for those monstrous pest that Naraku has for his limbs. They just keep growing back at a faster pace and even hit them before the attack is performed. Even Sesshomaru is appalled at the many cuts and wounds he has on his body because of the hanyou. He can match his speed, but the attacks are feeble against Naraku.
The hiraikotsu fared no better than the others did. All it was really good for is the defense it gave Sango. Without it, the demon huntress would definitely have been run through and poked in different spots of her body by the numerous limbs of the evil one. The monk fought by her side, using his spiritual powers to create a barrier around the two of them; no matter how short it would last. He cannot use the wind tunnel because of the giant wasps Naraku conjured just for him.
Oh, the irony of things really.
The purification arrows of the two mikos couldn’t even reach him. They’re either stopped at mid-flight or the arrow takes on a new target before it’s even launched. They stopped shooting, since the two targets are none other than the Inu-youkai brothers.
The wolf-prince can only look at them, helpless as he clutched his still unconscious mate in his arms. The wind sorceress prevented him from attacking and helping the others, saying that Naraku believes him to be dead by now. It would not be wise to attack and give their selves out.
“We would have to wait for the right time, wolf-prince. All my hard work of saving you would fall into nothing if you continue tosistsist in being a bloody temperamental fool!”
The kaze no youkai is right, he had to admit. He has to live, if not just because of his mate, then because of the others too. The fight between good and evil is finally at its’ end.
And it looks as though the wrong side would be winning…

~*~Chapter 32—Retribution~*~
Sesshomaru heard the wheeze of the arrow as its’ released and he knew it isn’t Kikyou. He swivels his head back to where Naraku is, just in time to hear the battle cry and the barrier disappear. There’s only one who has that insolent voice…
They’re both not dead.

Sango’s head snapped up as the familiar roar reached them. Miroku and her looked back to where the mates are, and almost toppled off Kirara’s back in astonishment. Lo and behold, they were both standing, with not a scratch in their body, fighting mad.
It seems he hasn’t killed her…
“Kagome-chan! Inuyasha!”

This isn’t supposed to happen… the bitch should have been dead and Inuyasha should’ve been crawling back to her.
This wasn’t part of the plan.
Kikyou narrowed her eyes at the brilliant master planner. All bets are off now.
‘He failed…’
~*~
Naraku’s ire leapt out of rational thinking as he realized his failure. All the careful planning, all the effort he’s put into this… wasted. And it’s just because of a hanyou and a girl who isn’t even properly trained to be called a miko!
That should’ve probably given him an idea of how things would go, but no. He would not give up. He had to show them, especially “her”, that he is better.
And so he reined in his temper and controlled himself enough to face them mockingly.
“Why, oh why do you seem to have the lives of a cat, Inuyasha? I kill you over and over again—with your lovely mate—but you just won’t die. Could it possibly be because you’re actually ‘Neko-yasha’, hmm?”
The hanyou surprised him by not responding immediately. Instead, he braced the Tetsusaiga upon his shoulders (his usual pose), and held Kagome’s hand in one of his.
“Keh! I guess that means you’re just too weak and too incompetent for me, asshole. So I suggest you shut the fuck up ‘coz we both know it’s not my funeral that’s going on today!” Inuyasha talked back with his usual confidence and arrogance intact.
And with that, prepared to give Naraku Hell.
“Kaze no Kizu!”

Sesshomaru heard the exchange, and immediately pushed at the youkai surrounding them. He now became the aggressor, mercilessly using Tokijin as a slaughter device.
The miko behind him helped too, fusing her purifying energy with his. In no time at all, they were halfway near Naraku.
‘Just a little bit more…’
~*~
“Hiraikotsu!” Sango yelled out as she released her weapon, helping distract the enemy for a moment. Kirara kept biting and tearing apart youkai as they go. Miroku, with staff in hand and prayer beads at the ready, got down the moment the fire-cat demon’s paws touched the ground.
They knew the drill; it has always been this way when they fought, no matter how injured they were. The men on their feet while their ladies fight together.
“Where do you think you’re go” In” Inuyasha gripped Kagome’s hand more tightly in his, preventing her from riding Kirara’s back.
“You can’t fight if I’m riding behind your back, Inuyasha. Or if you have to worry about me and look behind you every time. You’ll get hurt more. Let me go now, we have to hurry. Naraku will fight back any time now,” Kagome took the time to explain to her mate.
Inuyasha reluctantly let her go; watching as she rode behind Sango on Kirara’s back. At least she would be protected…
“Ready, Inuyasha?”
Inuyasha turned his attention to the monk who’s now beside him. His appearance appalled the hanyou; several cuts appear on his body, all of them deep. Not to mention the wounds on his back. It was a wonder he could even stand.
“Hell, Miroku! What the fuck happened to you!? Can you still walk?”
“Hai, Inuyasha. This is nothing don’t worry about me. I had a run-in with Kohaku and well,” Miroku shrugged as though that explained everything.
Inuyasha just nodded, mumbling something about talking about it later. His whole attention is now focused on Naraku.
“Let’s get this over with,”

The battle became intense— grueling at the most. Inuyasha kept up constant attack against Naraku with the Kaze no Kizu when he’s not close enough to slash at him. Sesshomaru in his end, worked with Inuyasha to bring the black hanyou to a quick end.
The others took care of Naraku’s fiends while all Naraku could do is defend himself.
It seems like it would be an easy victory…
But like in every mêlée, one tends to forget their enemies’ strength and underestimate them.
But Naraku never forgot.
He defended his self against them, all the while waiting for the chance to show them his true power. The power of the Jewel of the Four Souls… without even making the wish.
He dodged and attacked a little, his true form allowing his multiple limbs to lash out at them.
And then his moment came…
He called out to his underlings, assembling them to launch a diverse attack against the group. While his minions are divesting his enemies’ attentions and keeping them busy, he levitated to the most possible altitude he could manage and cupped the Shikon no Tama in both hands.
“You think you can destroy me just like that? Do you think that I do not have enough power to withstand yours? You forget what I hold in my hands, weaklings. All of this foolishness will stop. Right here, right now,” Naraku vowed just before he raised the jewel to absorb it in his body.

They all looked up in horror and disbelief as Naraku’s words penetrated their minds. They were pretty sure their triumph would be close in hand… but they did forget about the jewel. Now Naraku is taking in the power of the Shikon no Tama into his self. And that means trouble.
Another light engulfed the dark hanyou as the jewel joined with him. He’s at the center of the battleground, and the impact of the absorption threw the comrades far apart.
The blinding light reached them as they shaded their eyes from its’ glow. Sango and Kagome, who is much closer to Naraku’s location because of Kirara, are pushed backwards brutally away from him. The fire-cat demon reeled and both ladies held on for dear life.
But they were not so lucky…
Because of the struggle to keep a hold on Sango and a hold on her bow, Kagome fumbled and started to fall, shock evident on her face as gravity pulled her down. Sango looked back in time to see her best friend dropping to the ground, her fear apparent.
“Kagome-chan!!!”

Miroku and Inuyasha managed to stay together throughout the ordeal, using both the Tetsusaiga’s and the monk’s spiritual power to form some kind of barrier to protect them somewhat from the blows. And then he heard it.
“Kagome-chan!!!”
Inuyasha’s eyes scannhe she space above them to find whatever it is he’s looking for. When his eyes fixed on his target, his heart almost fell out of his chest at what he saw.
His mate is falling fast, nose-diving to the earth to her sure and imminent death.
Without even stopping to think and before he himself could even blink, he’s moving to Kagome’s position as fast as his legs could allow him to. Adrenaline rushed up to aid him in his quest, with only one thought ricocheting on his mind.
‘Not again. Never again, Kagome,’ Inuyasha thought as he prayed fervently to whatever god it is above him to help him get to her in time…

Miroku’s gaze followed Inuyasha, puzzled at the hanyou’s actions. Then he happened to look above.
“Oh, merciful Buddha!” the monk exclaimed as he saw the Lady Kagome suspended in the air for what seemed like an eternity before crashing down rapidly.
‘I hope Inuyasha gets there in time,’
Then he looked further behind the miko, just in time to see his own lady careening backwards with her pet. Kirara gave out a loud, angry roar just before losing consciousness and they too began their fast descent to the ground. Sango’s cry followed closely.
“Sango!!!” Miroku thought his heart stopped for that fraction of a moment. Then he too, went with his instinct and ran towards her with a speed he never even thought he possessed. All the while he was praying to his god to give him the strengthsavesave her and the chance…

The Lord of the Western Lands heard all of the commotion going around him, and even saw his sister-in-law plunging downward to her demise. But he could not do anything; he was too farther away and has his own predicament.
‘Inuyasha will not allow her to die. He won’t let her leave him,’ was Sesshomaru’s thought before he concentrated all of Tokijin’s energy and countered the force coming towards him and the miko.
Then he grabbed Kikyou into his good sword arm and leapt out of the way of the collision, while she managed to form a barrier around the two of them. But they still landed has tas the intensity reached them.

Kagura is thrown off Naraku’s side as he unleashed the power of the Shikon no Tama. In her fear of being purified, she hurriedly flew away from its’ source and breathed a sigh of relief in her successful escape. Good thing she controlled the winds.
Then she remembered something.
‘The wolfnce!nce!’
She frantically looked downwards to seek the mates. And then she saw them. Kouga is trying hard to keep his hold on Ayame while protecting her with his own body as the impact damaged his already mutilated body.
‘He will not be able to last anymore!’ was her last coherent thought before flying down fast at them and sending her whirlwinds to protect them both.
“Ryuuja no mai!”

‘This is it—I’m going to die here and now. Oh Mama, please forgive me,’ Kagome thought as she fought back the tears bravely and closed her eyes at the sight of the ground rushing up at her.
Then she thought of her mate.
‘Gomen, Inuyasha. It seems like the Fates are ever fighting for us not to be together. But it was good, that I at least had the chance to tell you that I love you…’
And there the tears she held began to fall in time with her.
She braced herself for the pain it will cause her, and praying to God that it will be quick. She resigned herself to her Fate, knowing that no one could save her now—not even Inuyasha.
“Kagomeeeeeeee!!!!!”
Her eyes flew open at the sound of her name being called out by a familiar voice. She twisted her whole body around to see…
And there he was, running and leaping towards her for all he was worth. It seemed as though he’s flying at the speed he’s going. But he can’t be there in time she knew that.
‘Shinjiteru, Kanai,’
Her eyes dilated at the voice in her head. And she thought that she believed in him in the past, and had no reason to doubt him now. No matter how impossible things became, Inuyasha still pulled through for her.
“Aishiteru, Inuyasha-kun,” Kagome whispered to him, her eyes never leaving his as she gave him her whole trust once again.
Inuyasha seemed to understand, his amber eyes glowing as determination etched itself in his face.
He increased his pace, forcing his limbs to their limits. He cannot let her down…
Just before she landed flat on her back to the ground, she held out her hands to him and he leapt towards her with all his might, knocking them both back to the solid dirt but twisting their bodies so that she’s on top.
Kagome quickly raised her head off Inuyasha’s chest as she looked at him with worry in her eyes.
Inuyasha’s eyes were closed while his arms remained firmly around her. At her movement, he opened his amber orbs to look at her and smiled slightly.
“Gotcha,”

Miroku held his breath as he stopped where he calculated the taijiya would fall. She got thrown off the back of her pet when they fell down. And it’s a good thing, since he couldn’t bear the weight of Kirara too.
Her pet dropped down first with a thud, not far from where he’s standing. The monk threw his staff to the dirt as he positioned his arms to catch his lady, praying all the while that he’s correct.
Amazingly, he is. His knees buckled under the force of the fall and her weight and he fell to one knee, looking at her eyes screwed tight. His fingers gently skimmed her cheek as her eyes flew open in alarm.
“Houshi-sama!”
“Hai, Sango. Do you remember when I told you I would catch you no matter how high you fell? You should’ve believed me,” Miroku said as he proceeded to fondle her backside.
Sango blushed at the words, then her eyelids twitched at the familiar feeling of the monk’s hands in her ass. She gently but firmly, pushed off him.
“Don’t make me hit you unconscious now, houshi!”

Naraku heard his detachment giving out her battle cry, and thought that she’s finishing her job with the wolf-prince now. Good girl.
As the light dissipated around him, he marveled at the feeling of the Shikon no Tama within his body. Surprisingly, it chose its’ own resting place. The spider mark on his back.
But he’s not one to complain. Not after he discovered that he could grow into five times the size he was, not to mention the power and strength the jewel afforded him.
It’s payback time…
He faced back to his enemies, smirking when he saw that all of the men had a hard time protecting their own woman. And even now, the wolf-prince is probably dead. Thanks to Kagura.
“Do you see now, you mortals? Do you still think that you can take me on?” Naraku cackled maliciously as he leered at them one by one.
“Now face my wrath!”

All the youkais have been purified, but Naraku made up for the loss of his fiends. It’s a wonder how that big of a creature could move as fast as he could. From the way he’s attacking, it would seem as though he has multiple bodies instead of just one.
They were now at the defense.
The Kaze no Kizu is no match for those monstrous pest that Naraku has for his limbs. They just keep growing back at a faster pace and even hit them before the attack is performed. Even Sesshomaru is appalled at the many cuts and wounds he has on his body because of the hanyou. He can match his speed, but the attacks are feeble against Naraku.
The hiraikotsu fared no better than the others did. All it was really good for is the defense it gave Sango. Without it, the demon huntress would definitely have been run through and poked in different spots of her body by the numerous limbs of the evil one. The monk fought by her side, using his spiritual powers to create a barrier around the two of them; no matter how short it would last. He cannot use the wind tunnel because of the giant wasps Naraku conjured just for him.
Oh, the irony of things really.
The purification arrows of the two mikos couldn’t even reach him. They’re either stopped at mid-flight or the arrow takes on a new target before it’s even launched. They stopped shooting, since the two targets are none other than the Inu-youkai brothers.
The wolf-prince can only look at them, helpless as he clutched his still unconscious mate in his arms. The wind sorceress prevented him from attacking and helping the others, saying that Naraku believes him to be dead by now. It would not be wise to attack and give their selves out.
“We would have to wait for the right time, wolf-prince. All my hard work of saving you would fall into nothing if you continue tosistsist in being a bloody temperamental fool!”
The kaze no youkai is right, he had to admit. He has to live, if not just because of his mate, then because of the others too. The fight between good and evil is finally at its’ end.
And it looks as though the wrong side would be winning…
