Chapter Twenty-Nine


Taree stopped in her room long enough to grab Baby off the bed. The snake went around her neck and the girls took off trying to get their minds off two men. They ran down the halls laughing the whole way, racing to an unknown destination. Youkai moved aside as the two mentally unbalanced girls ran past.

Some men were standing in line to go inside a room, the line was pretty long. As they ran past, Tar shoved the last guy making him bump into the man in front of him. The man in front turned to yell at the man that had bumped into him. Within a minute the two started fighting, bumping into others. The girls stood back and watched as other fights broke out.

"Oh my, I can't believe you did that." Kagome tried not to laugh.

"Holy shit." Tar ran off before either of them were noticed. "Wow youkai around here have short tempers."

"Maybe they didn't like each other already?" Kagome suggested.

"Who cares, lets go. Maybe we can find something else to do."

"You're scaring me." Kagome followed her down another hall. They passed a room and stopped when they heard loud moaning. It was definitely male and female. The woman seemed to be enjoying herself. She began calling out the man's name. "Shikano, oh more."

They left walking down the hall until they passed two guards talking, "Where the hell did Shikano go, he's suppose to take over for me?"

Tar turned to him, "Oh sorry to interrupt. I think I heard him, in that room down the hall to the left, third door on the right I believe."

"Thanks, I guess." He left them standing there with the other guard. The guard eyed them warily, not sure if he liked them standing there. Within minutes the other guard came running back out panting, "He's in there with your woman."

The second guard turned red and ran down the hall cursing.

"Oops," Taree felt her cheeks go red. Sucked to be Shikano.

Kagome dragged her away, fighting could be heard as they walked away. A blast was heard and they turned, dust was flying down the hall. "Oh shit, that guy is pissed."

"Wouldn't you be pissed."

"Let's get out of here." They walked for another thirty minutes without seeing anyone. Yomi was walking towards them and he didn't look happy.

Tar wasn't worried, "Better move he can't see you know, he's liable to run you over." He stopped in his tracks at the comment, "Fucker can hear good though, then again with six ears."

Kagome tried not to laugh at the man's expense. She moved to the side when he continued to walk past them. He didn't say anything but kept walking.

"Too bad he's gay, he's got a nice ass." Taree knew he heard her. Kagome burst out laughing when he spun around. The two men with him stopped also both stunned. "Oops, I think he heard me."

He didn't say anything, he was trying not to smile. He knew of no one else that would have the nerves to make fun of him. Yet this girl stood there mocking him and was having fun doing it. He wasn't sure if he wanted to teach her a lesson or laugh with her. "I will deal with you later."

She watched him walk away and smiled. "He really is kind of cute."

"Yeah too bad you're in love with Yusuke."

"I am not in love with that dork." She denied it.


The next two people they ran into was a nice suprise. Touya and Jin were sitting on a balcony over looking the city. Taree ran over to them, glad to see a familiar face. "Hey you two."

"Hello, good to see you again." Touya looked the girl over, she looked different. "We didn't realize you two were here."

"Yep, someone has to liven this place up." Taree looked at the view and smiled. "Now, this is beautiful. Look at this view Kagome."

Kagome walked beside her and gazed out. It was a sight to behold, they were high up in the sky. "Amazing." She turned when she felt a pair of eyes on her. The red head was staring at her with a goofy grin on his face. "What?"

"Beautiful." Was all he said.

Touya watched both women as they continued to look around. That they were, he had to agree with his friend. Jin continued to stare at the other girl grinning like an idiot.

"I wish I could fly." Taree leaned over the railing. She couldn't even see the ground. She turned to Jin, "Hey you, you're a wind youkai right?" He nodded at her, "Great, give me a ride?"

His eyes got big at her question. He wasn't sure what to say, not that he would have minded. Then again he didn't want to be caught with the girl in his arms either. He could sense the others near. "Not wise, it is."

Taree climbed on the railing, standing on the edge. "Please, just a little one?" He shook his head no. She gave up, she was sure he'd give Kagome one from the way he was staring. Must be nice to have big breasts. Her head snapped when she heard someone yell.

"Get your ass down from there." Yusuke was walking up with Hiei beside him.

She stuck her tongue at him, Touya stepped in front of her. Her guess trying to shield her from Yusuke's anger. She watched as the two joined them on the balcony. Both looked pissed for some reason. "Go away, you weren't invited."

He took a menacing step towards her, "I said get down." She was making him nervous, her feet barely on the small railing.

"Why, I'm not hurting anyone."

"Leave her be Yusuke, she is fine." Touya stated. The boy was obviously angry for some reason and taking it out on the girl.

"Who fucking asked you?" He went to grab her and the ice youkai grabbed his arm. "Get off Touya."

She watched in horror as Yusuke shoved the man off him causing Touya to stumble knocking into her legs. She felt her feet leave the railing then nothing but air. A pair of strong arms caught her, Baby was squeezing around her arm.

Jin was sure he just pissed himself. Those idiots had just about killed the girl.

"Thanks. I'm really glad you can fly now. I've changed my mind about the ride."

"Understandable." He went back to the balcony and placed her back on her feet. He was going to let Touya have an ear full as soon as they were alone.

Taree almost felt like kissing the floor. That had been too scary, even for her. Baby was still coiled tight around her arm, poor thing had been scared to death. Kagome was beside her asking if she was okay. "I'm fine, need clean underwear though. Spongebob just got a golden shower."

Kagome turned on the two men, "You idoits! What the hell is wrong with you two? You could have just killed her. What if he hadn't been here? I could have just lost my best friend and because you two had to start squabling like little boys. I should throw you both off."

"What is going on here?" Yomi was approaching them quickly.

"Those two idiots just almost killed her that's the problem." Kagome yelled at him too. "They knocked her off the damn balcony."

"Hmph, come with me." He was talking to Taree, choosing to ignore the other girl. "I wish to speak to you."

She sighed, what had she done now? "Fine but whatever it was I didn't do it."

Yusuke and Touya glared as the blind man escorted her away. Neither liked the attention he was paying her. Jin however walked up to Kagome smiling. "Would you be wanting a ride now?"

"No, she doesn't." Hiei glared at him.

Kagome started to see red, how dare he. "Actually, I think I do." She turned to smile at the wind youkai.
