How Much Worse Can It Get


Inuyasha awoke to find the sun rising above the trees and Kikyou still in his arms. He leaned down and kissed her awake. "I have to return to the village now. Are you going to be back here tonight?"

Kikyou nodded yes. She watched as Inuyasha rose and dressed. She got up and found her cloths and followed his lead. "I will return to this spot tonight. Do not let Kagome drag you into danger today." She called forth her soul collectors and departed the forest.

Inuyasha watched her leave. Kagome wouldn't drag him into danger today. She was the danger he had to face. Just thinking about what she could do to him made him shudder with dread. He just hoped she wasn't too angry. He took off to Kaede's hut.

Kagome was laying down watching Shippou and the others sleep. It seemed that she didn't need as much sleep anymore. She had been awake for a few hours so far. But she continued to lay down so she wouldn't disturb anyone else.
She could tell by the smell that Inuyasha had came by the hut during the night. At least she knew he was ok now. That is until I get a hold of him. She saw the rays of light entering the hut. Good it was morning she could get up now. She woke Shippou and then the rest of the group. "I thought you would like to great Inuyasha. He is on his way here." That woke everyone up. They straightened their cloths and started for the door. They were going to face him outside. No one wanted to destroy Kaede's hut again if they could help it.

Inuyasha was almost to the hut when the door opened and everyone came out to meet him. He didn't know if that was a good thing or not. "Hi everyone."
He stopped in front of Kagome and faced them all.

Kagome had to step back away from Inuyasha. The stench she smelled coming from him almost made her black out. She looked at Shippou and Kirara and saw that they were faring no better. She held her hands together and started chanting. She watched as Inuyasha was surrounded with one of her orbs. That should hold the stench at bay for a little while. "Miroku I was wondering if you would help me with something?" She turned around and walked to the monk then whispered in his ear what she wanted him to do. He quickly nodded his consent.
Then she went to Shippou and whispered in his ear and watched him take off for the hut laughing like crazy. He returned with what she had asked him to get. She took it from him and handed it to Miroku.

Miroku took the stuff from Kagome and turned to follow her and her prisoner. Its a good thing no one could hear what Inuyasha was saying. But from his actions he didn't appear to happy.

Inuyasha watched as Kagome started chanting and tried to escape the bubble that was surrounding him. Nothing worked on the thing. He watched as Kagome turned to Miroku then Shippou. Then his bubble started floating. Where was she taking him. It didn't take him long to figure it out. They were on the path to the hot springs. What did she plan to do.

Kagome guided the bubble to the springs and when it was over the deepest area she released the spell. She laughed when Inuyasha hit the water.

Inuyasha felt the bubble disappear and before he could stop himself he fell into it. He came up sputtering and shouting at the group on the bank. "What do you think you are doing? Trying to drown me or something?"

"I told you I didn't like you smelling like a cemetery. So I decided that it was time for you to bathe. And since the others agreed with me they decided to help."
Kagome nodded to Miroku who entered the water with the soap in hand and faced the angry hanyou. A small punishment for both of them.

Inuyasha saw the monk coming toward him and tried to jump out of the water but all of the sudden he couldn't move or talk. He saw Kagome standing on the bank chanting again before she turned away from the spring. She stayed on the bank with Sango and Shippou but at least they were all turned away from him.

Miroku wasn't looking forward to this. But he told Kagome he would help her. He took Inuyasha's cloths off and scrubbed him with he rag and soap that Kagome had given him. He made sure to scrub him everywhere well almost everywhere. There was just some things even he wouldn't do. When he was done he carried Inuyasha's clothes out of the water and stood on the bank. "These clothes should be washed also. I will take them to one of the ladies of the village and see if I can find something suitable for him to wear until they are done."

"Please hurry Miroku I don't know how much longer I can keep him like this."
Kagome watched the monk run from the springs. He should be back shortly. Unless he runs into a pretty girl then we may never see him again. A little while longer she saw Miroku returning with another kimono in his arms. Must not have found a pretty girl he was back way too soon.

"I gave his clothes to the girls at the river to clean. They promised to have them back to us as soon as possible and one of their fathers gave us this kimono for him to wear until his are done." Miroku watched as Kagome moved Inuyasha out of the water. When he was on the bank of the spring he dressed Inuyasha in the kimono. "All done."

Kagome turned back around and faced Inuyasha once again. She could still smell Kikyou but at least the scent wasn't going to knock anyone out. "Good job Miroku." She looked at Inuyasha "I will release you but you have to promise that you will not do anything to anyone until you have your own cloths back on."

Inuyasha glared at her but nodded his head. When Kagome released him he headed back to Kaede's hut. He didn't want to be seen in the kimono that Miroku picked out for him. The monk must like the color purple. Inuyasha was cursing the monk under his breath. Any color would have been better than purple. He would wait like he promised but they were all going to pay as soon as he got his fire rat kimono and haori back on. Till then he would just sit and plan their deaths. How much worse could his day get?

Everyone was shocked that he was calmly walking back to Kaede's. They really didn't expect him to honor his promise. But it looked like he was. They all followed him.

Kagome was behind everyone else. She stopped and turned toward the east. "Shard heading this way and fast." She looked and saw the whirlwind coming straight for her. She braced her self and not soon enough. Kouga slid to a stop in front of her.

"My Kagome I don't think I have seen you look better. Although if you had changed into a wolf youkai it would have been better for us. But I guess a Inu youkai is close enough." He pulled her into his arms and started to lower his head. Then he caught a scent that he didn't like coming from her throat. He quickly raised his head and glared at Inuyasha. "How dare you Inutrasha. I had already claimed Kagome as mine. How could you place a courting mark on her?"

Inuyasha returned the wolf's glare. "Try again wolf breath. Or is your nose not connected to your brain. It's not my mark." He smiled at the wolf. If he didn't like the idea that he had placed the mark there what would he do when he discovered that Sesshoumaru had.

Kouga bent back down to Kagome and sniffed her neck again. No it wasn't muttface's mark. It was his brothers. When he smelled Sesshoumaru he jumped far away from Kagome. "Hey dog breath how could you let that cold bastard mark my women. I left her in your care and see what happens." He would take on Inuyasha any day but his brother was another story. His mom didn't raise no stupid pups. "Sorry Kagome but I just can't take you as a mate now. I know how much that must hurt you hearing that but if you ever leave muttface's brother look me up. Then I will show you what you missed out on." He glared once more at Inuyasha and headed back to his cave.

Inuyasha just shook his head. I have got to learn not to say How much worse could it possibly get. It always gets worse when I do that. He shook his head again and continued onward to Kaede's hut.
