Outside, just as dusk was beginning to settle over the town, a young man began to chuckle to himself as he stalked the shadows around the saloon; taking notice of every possible exit on both floors. Much to his delight, there were actually very few points for his prey to escape from. Smiling to himself about how easy they were making it for him to get his revenge, he made his way back to where he had hidden his few remaining belongings.

There wasn't much left to speak of, a single change of clothing in desperate need of mending, his lucky horseshoe which had failed to bring him any good fortune and the necklace his mother had given him just days before she had died. Or at least that is what he was told when he came of age and it was returned to him. More than likely the old biddies realized it was of very little value and had been unable to hock it.

Why else would they give it back after having it for over ten years. No they, like everyone else he had come across, were thieves. Just like the owner of the saloon and the morons he had working the cards for him. They had cheated him out of the last few dollars he had to his name; dollars he had to mine from dawn to dusk down in some dark, dank hole just to earn, and he wasn't about to let any of them get away with it anymore. It was time they learned to regret messing with him.

You don't screw with someone who has nothing left to lose for they are willing to do anything to pay you back. And those bastards were about to understand just what it meant to have him as an enemy. Knowing he would be the very last thing they thought about before the excruciating pain made them unable to think of anything at all, made all of what he was about to do worth it to Renkotsu. Carefully clasping the necklace in place, he decided to abandon the rest of his belongings where they were; he wouldn't be needing them where he was going.
