Chapter 29:

Inuyasha stopped what he was doing. "What the hell?"

"You don't think that that was Inutaisha?" Kagoru asked.

"I don't know but whatever it is the aura is strong." Mirra shouted.

"Mirra, you don't suppose that Inutaisha has transformed?" Sanga questioned her suddenly.

"I don't know, but if she has we are in big trouble. Not only will she be angry but I can imagine that everything in her path will be destroyed."

Inuyasha could not believe the two. "Hey! Trust in her. She can distinguish between her enemies and friends. Trust that she can do what she said she was going to do."

Kagoru fired off two more arrows. "Let's hurry! She needs us!"

Sessha could not believe her eyes. Her sister, the half-breed she was, had transformed into a giant dog. Two red eyes narrowed on her enemies, daring them to come closer. If only she had her other arm. She would be willing to join her sister in battle. However, she had to wait for Inutaisha's friends. She could not ruin their ambush.

'You have to attack them while you have the chance.' Her mind urged her sister silently. She could not believe the fact that she had transformed into a giant dog. She had never seen such a spectacle. She watched as her sister swiped the two off their feet with her tail. She glowed a fierce white. Sessha thought that she looked more like a wolf than a dog because of her ears. 'Come on Inutaisha. Stop wasting time.'

Kagoru ran beside Inuyasha and Kagome towards the clearing. What had happened? He had to know what was going on with Inutaisha, afterall she was carrying his children. "Hurry up slowpokes!" He shouted at Mirra and Sanga who were riding Kiroru.

"We're hurrying Kagoru. We want to get to Inutaisha as well." Sanga shouted.

"Well you don't have two children to worry about."

Sanga coughed suddenly, "Don't worry Kagoru. We're going to make it." Mirra replied.

It took a few more minutes before they reached the clearing and what they found was a big shock. Everyone gasped. "Is that..." Kagome started.

"Inutaisha?" Kagoru finished. It was so hard to believe. He had only seen Sessha like that and Sessha was a full-blooded demon. He could not believe that this was Inutaisha.

Inuyasha brandished his sword, "Tonight they will die." He leapt up next to his transformed counterpart and watched as she narrowed her eyes at him then shook her head as if she was trying to direct him around her. Inutaisha growled as she bit at Naraka. Inuyasha was swinging his transformed sword at Naraku as Naraku looked at the giant dog half-breed who was making the ground shake with her footsteps.

Inutaisha could sense Kagoru and another aura. Her eyes widened in surprise as she stared into the forest, forgetting her enemy for a moment. 'Could it be? Kyoshi...'

She saw a blue arrow land near Naraka. Kagoru turned towards the source as did Kagome, Sanga, and Mirra. "No." Kagoru gasped. "It can't be!"

Inutaisha let out a growl as she felt a sword slice into her fur and skin. She turned her attention back to Naraka and tried to bite at her again. Kagoru looked on in surprise as his incarnate appeared before him. "What are you doing here?" He asked.

"I knew of your plan and I knew of Inutaisha's pregnancy. She is a fool going into this with two pups on the way." Kyoshi replied.

"How dare you! Inutaisha only wants to avenge your death and make the world better. How can you be cruel to her?"

"I'm not the one who got her pregnant." Kyoshi replied in a monotone voice.

Kagoru stuttered, "Well...I..I love Inutaisha and she is my girl and I am going to have a family with her."

"As much as we would love to discuss this we have a battle to finish!" Mirra shouted at the two.

Kagoru felt embarrassed suddenly. He watched Inutaisha and Inuyasha battle their opponents as they stood back and did nothing. "We have to do something!"

"You all were never much for tact." Sessha interrupted. She sighed as they looked at her. "Go to the other side and attack from there. My sister and her counterpart are holding them off. Surely with your combined power we will be able to defeat them."

"What about you? Are you going to watch?!" Kagoru asked as he noticed her bristle in anger.

"No stupid! I think I have enough honor to fight with my sister." Sessha shouted back as she narrowed her eyes at him. Kagoru was taken aback by her statement. He had never seen Sessha so angry with anyone besides her sister. Hell, she never really got angry at her sister...it was only rivalry. Sessha pulled out her sword Tokijin and looked at Kagoru as she pointed it at him. "Don't get in my way human."

He sighed in anger. "Fine." He replied as he watched Sessa join her sister. The two looked odd together. However, they needed the help and Kagoru knew that this might be the only time the two sisters would fight together. "She's right. We have to attack from the back. It is the only way."

Kagome had been watching the situation unfold and could not believe what had happened. "What are we waiting for!" She shouted then pulled Kagoru along with her.

Inutaisha panted softly as she watched Kagoru, Kyoshi, and Kagome shoot arrows at Naraka and Naraku. For the first time in a long while it seemed that they were going to win. She could feel it in her bones. 'We are going to win!' She chanted in her mind.

She had been surprised when Kyoshi had come to join the battle and even more surprised when her sister attacked Naraka while she and Inuyasha had attacked Naraku. Her eyes narrowed on Mirra and Sanga who were taking care of stray demons. 'Mother...how can I stop them?' Inutaisha closed her eyes and prayed for her mother's guidance.

'The jewel shards...' A voice returned.

'But I will turn evil if I even take one shard.' She replied.

'Not with Kagoru. Ask him for his help, you need him Inutaisha...like he needs you.'

Inutaisha thought of this for only a few moments then decided to do as the voice said. Somehow she knew it was her mother telling her this. Inutaisha turned her attention to Kagoru who immediately looked at her. Their eyes met and Kagoru knew she needed him. "Give me the jewel shards Kagoru." Kyoshi said as he held out his hand.

"Why?" Kagoru asked.

"She needs you to trust her with them. Go to her damn it!" Kyoshi shouted as Kagoru handed him the shards. He then charged them with his pure energy and they shot from his hands to Inutaisha's forehead. Kagoru shot an arrow to clear his path to Inutaisha then ran to his mate. Inutaisha waited till Kagoru was at her feet to help him on her neck.

Kagoru grasped her white fur in a powerful grip. It was odd with her being in this form but he could sense her thoughts. 'Hold tight.' She said. He did what she commanded then heard a powerful roar and watched as a mighty claw rose over the two evil entities and there was a great red light and screams.

Inutaisha woke to the sunlight shining on her. She was back in her half-demon form. "What happened?!" She cried out. She looked behind her and found Inuyasha, Kagome, Kagoru, Sango, Sanga, Mirra, Miroku, Sessha, Sesshoumaru, Shippou, Shippa, and Kyoshi surrounding her. She noticed Sessha held Tetsuseiga in her hand and Kyoshi held the Jewel of Four Souls in its whole form.

"Thank you so much Inutaisha." Mirra thanked her friend as she showed her bare hand.

"Mirra. Miroku. You both are free from the curse." She said with a smile.

"Thanks to you Inutaisha." Miroku thanked as he watched Inutaisha stand up on weak legs.

Inuyasha grasped her waist to steady her. "You didn't answer me though."

"Their gone sister." Sessha interrupted.

Inutaisha nodded then thought of Sanga's sister, "Sanga what about Kohana?"

He smiled at her. "She and Kohaku are safe and with Kaga."

"Inuyasha will you stay until I give birth to my children? I have a feeling we can use the jewel to get you home." She asked her counterpart.

Inuyasha smiled. "We'd be happy to stay after all you have done for us."

"May I have my sword back?"

Sessha was surprised at her sister. "It's yours." Sessha replied as she pressed the hilt of the sword into her sister's hand.

"No. It was mother's. I'm only keeping it." Inutaisha replied with a smile. "Now, I ask to speak with Kyoshi and Kagoru alone please."

When the rest had left Kyoshi and Kagoru alone with Inutaisha she finally turned to them. "Kyoshi thank you so much. I know that we were meant to be once before but I can't love you anymore. Kagoru is my love now. I ask that you give the jewel to Kagoru so he can protect it."

"I can rest now that Naraka is dead and I know it truly wasn't you who killed me." Kyoshi said then gave the jewel to Kagoru who put it around his neck for the time being. Kyoshi leaned forward and gave Inutaisha one last kiss before finally disappearing in blue light.

Inutaisha turned to Kagoru. "Thank you Kagoru." She thanked him.

"For what?"

"For helping me retain my mind and for being there for me. I love you so much." She said as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

Kagoru smiled as he wrapped his arms around her waist and pressed his lips to hers. They parted, "I love you too."
