Night Terrors

Sango Miroku and the others rose a little after the sun was up. They were a little surprised to see Inu yasha and Kagome sitting so close together by the dead fire, but they shrugged it off. Everyone knew that they liked eachother, everybody but them of course. They ate breakfast (Ramen duh) unaware of a pair of golden eyes that watched from the shadows. Kagome couldnt sense any jewel shards, so they pretty much played it by ear. By noon Inu yasha ended up carrying Kagome.
After super when everyone else had gone to sleep Kagome pulled out her flashlight from her book bag and hid it deep within her sleeping bag where she could reach it if she had to.
She closed her eyes and was almost asleep, when she heard the incesive clicking sounds that haunted her dreams. She sat up and began to fumble around in her sleeping bag for her flashlight. Her heart was beating so loud she was sure that they could hear her. Her hand came into contact with a cold metal object, her flashlight. She turned it on but the ligt that emitted from it was dull and soon began to flicker.
"No no dont go out! please dont go out" she said as the last gleam of light disapeared. It was then that warm arms wrapped around her from behind. One around her waist and one to cover her mouth. She could feel there hot breath on herk ask as they inhaled and exhaled. She kicked and screamed a silent scream. What ever bound her held her still.
"Shhh Kagome its ok its me" Inu yasha whisperd from behind. Kagome stopped thrashing and relaxed in his arms. He realised his hold on her as she setteld down.
"Inu yasha!" she cried as she turned around and embraced him. He was a little shocked but put his arms around her none the less.
"Did you have the dream again?" he asked as he rubbed her back.
"No I heard them I really heard them! Their after me and I cant stop them! They are real! Im not crazy! Im not" she cried into his kimono.
"Of course your not ! Kagome I think that this lack of sleep is getting to your head. They cant get you ,they arent real. And if they were Id never let them hurt you." He held her and whisperd compforting words into her ear.
As she cried in his arms, neither of them noticed the glowing eyes fixed on them.

The next day Inu yasha suggested that the others go on without them, he insisted that he and Kagome would meet them back at Keades in three days. With a little assurence that they would be fine from Kagome, the others went ahead.Though Kagome was glad that she and Inu yasha were alone she was a bit curious.
"Inu yasha why did you want the others to go on with out us?" she asked.
"Because your obviosly in no shape to travel, and you certanly cant stay behind on your own and I dont trust you alone with the monk, and Sango may be strong but she is after all a woman and not to many men or demons take women seriosly and would attack her for no other reason except that shes a woman. And its no use that everyone stay when Im perfectly capable of protecting you on my own." he reasoned.
Well thats that then, Kagome thought.
"Kagome since you obviosly cant sleep at night you should try to get some sleep now." he said more of an order than a request.
Sleep. Kagome liked the sound of that. So she set up her sleeping bag and craweld in. Sleep was quick to claim her, and Inu yasha prayed that this day time sleep would not be filled with night mares.
