The one that healed me

Hi again! This chapter is really short I know, but I just wanted to upload something after this long absence. I hope someone likes it. And again, sorry for typos and other spelling errors! 

Inuyasha heard a beeping sound in the distance, it became louder the closer he came to consciousness. The beeping sound came in the same pace as his heartbeat. He found it very annoying. He felt extremely tired and didn't have the strength to open his eyes, so he focused on sounds for now. 

Somewhere he heard fast footsteps and a door that was opened and then closed. He heard the annoying ticking of a clock. And then there was a annoying dripping sound. Kind of like a tap that wasn't closed correctly. 

Done with the sounds for now, he focused on the various smells of his surroundings. 

He inhaled and was surprised when he couldn't detect anything. The only thing he could pick up was that the room he was in, was sterile. He started to feel uneasy and his heart rate sped up. He could tell because of the beeping noise started to go crazy. 

He forced himself to calm down and breathed evenly for a few seconds. He succeeded and his heartbeat slowed down. 

A few minutes later he heard a pair of new footsteps walking towards him. And he heard a knocking on the door. He didn't have the energy to do anything so he stayed put. 

“Good morning” said a female voice. “How is he doing?” 

“He is just fine.” Said Kikyo.

‘Wait!? Is Kikyo here?! Why didn't I smell her!?’ he thought. ‘Something is way off!’ 

He knew it was morning because he could se the light trough his closed eyelids, and he knew that he should have turned to a hanyou again at sunrise. Then why didn't his nose work!? 

Kikyo started talking again. “His heart rate sped up a few minutes ago, But it slowed down again. I didn't know if he is under any stress or something. Do you think he is in pain?” 

There was a rustle of papers and then the other female spoke again. 

“He doesn't seem to be in any pain at the moment. I don't know what made his heart go up like that. But I can tell that he is awake.” She said. “He woke up about an hour ago.” 

“He is awake?” Kikyo said “but he hasn't opened his eyes.” He heard that she moved to his right side and then he felt her hand caress his face. 

“I don't know for certain.” Said the girl. “But my best guess is that he is completely drained of energy. He came in with multiple broken ribs and internal bleeding, it takes a lot for a human to come back from that. But I promise you that he will be fine and he will probably open his eyes soon.” 

‘Wait what?! Human? Internal bleeding? What is going on?!’ 

Inuyasha’s brain worked overtime. He tried to think back to last night. 

He remembered drinking with Koga and Kikyo. 

He remembered having a drinking contest and loosing the contest. 

He remembered meeting thee new guys. 

Kikyo was escorted by Kogas crew. 

He went home with the new guys. 

Did he make it home? No.. 

A dark feeling started to spread in his stomach as he thought back. 

His heartbeat went crazy again and the beeping sound was deafening. 

He remembered everything, the humiliating feeling of what they have done to him. 

His stomach started to churn uncontrollably and he felt bile rise in his throat. 

He tossed himself to his left side and vomited on the floor. His abused stomach hurt like hell do to straining it so much. And he saw that he vomited up a great deal of blood. 

He felt tears running down his cheeks and he screamed in agony and humiliation. After a few seconds he stopped throwing up. 

Both Kikyo and the other girl came running to his aid and helped him to sit up again. 

The other girl gave him a plastic container. 

“Just in case” she said and gave him a concerned look. 

“Do you know why you're here Inuyasha” she said as she started to examine him with a small flashlight in his eyes. 

“I think so…” He said. “It's because I can't transform back isn't it” 

The girl who looked like a nurse gave him a confused look. 

“What do you mean?” She said. 

“I'm saying that something is really wrong with me! I should've turned back into my hanyou form by sunrise!” He snapped at her. 

The nurse looked over at Kikyo with a puzzled look. Surging for more information from her. “It's true” she said. “Inuyasha was supposed to turn back to an Inu-hanyou at sunrise. Last night was his human night, and his human night only last from sunset to sunrise. But something has prevented him to turn back.” She looked over at Inuyasha who looked like he was going to throw up again. 

The nurse looked over at his chart. “All your blood work is human. There's nothing demonic about you as it is now…” She was in total shock. And then she looked over at Inuyasha again. “I will talk to the doctor that operated on you last night, and I will talk to the lab, I can only hope that there's something we can do about this. I can't do anything myself because I'm just an intern right now. I will not graduate from med-school until two years. But I will do anything I can to make this right I promise you that.” She said with a smile. 

She was really pretty when she smiled. He had never seen such a warm smile. It was breathtaking. Sure Kikyo smiled- on occasion, but it did always look forced. Like she smiled because it was the right thing to do at the time. 

“Thank you so much! You didn't tell me your name.” Kikyo said.

“Oh I'm so sorry” she said blushing “My name is Kagome. Kagome Higurashi.” 

“Well then thank you miss Higurashi” 

“That's no problem, I just hope that the doctors haven't done anything to cause this.” She said with a worried look on her face. “Do you need anything Inuyasha? Are you in any pain?” 

Inuyasha shock his head no. He wasn't in any real pain. The pain in his stomach had settled down when he had laid down again. He did feel tired and confused. All he wanted to do was sleep right now. He wanted everybody to leave him so he could sleep. 

“No.” He finally said with a weak voice. “I'm tired. I want to sleep.” 

“Do you need me to stay” Kikyo asked. She had a strange look on her face, kind of like she looked bothers to even be there with him. 

“No, if you want to leave its fine with me. All I'm going to do is sleep anyway.” 

She looked relieved by his answer and nodded. 

“Ok then. You sleep well.” She gave him a light kiss on his forehead and looked over at Kagome. “If anything changes or happens you call me ok?”

“Of course! But I think the worst part is over now.” She said with a reassuring smile. 

“All he needs to do is sleep and heal.” 

With that Kikyo said goodbye and left. Kagome stayed to clean up Inuyasha's mess and Inuyasha as well. The puddle had totally been forgotten through their conversation, and she didn't think it was necessary to bring in the cleaning crew when she had all of the supplies needed right there. 

As she cleaned up the room she started to think of what se should ask  the doctors. 

The time of the surgery was the main question. If they had operated on him after sunrise it wouldn't be their fault. Then it had to be something that had happen before he was assaulted. Or during. 

‘I wonder what happened to him. I might ask him when he wakes up’ she thought.

She looked over at him to make sure he he was ok, and then she turned away and walked towards the door. 

She glanced over at him one last time. ‘At least his name makes more sense now’ she thought with a smile and left the room.
