Chapter 3
We stared at eachother a little longer until a little girl talked "Hello I'm Rin,I saw you last night but you weren't here this morning so I couldn't intro-" "Rin!" everyone looked at Sesshomaru. "Jaken take Rin somewhere else for a bit." he nodded before grabbing Rin's wrist and pulling her away. "You didn't have to yell at her like that she wasn't doing anything wrong." Kagome began to stand up sence she was still on the ground. "What are you doing here?" "Um I'm lost." Rin jumped out of the bushes "You can travel with us!" she said with a big smile on her face.
Rin's smile disappeared just as it came when Sesshomaru said no. She looked at him with a sad puppy kinda face. "Please I want to have a friend to talk to on long trips." he thought about it for a moment "You have Jaken." "But Jaken is not a friend." he thought again longer than last time."Fine but if she gets in the way she has to leave." "YAY!"Rin ran up to Kagome and gave her a big hug. "Oh ya what's your name?" "Kagome."she said offering Rin a small smile.
They walked for what seemed like eternity until finally they took a break. Kagome and Rin sat on a large rock while Jaken and Sesshomaru lean against trees. The moment was silent as they all took a break Sesshomaru did not need a break but he's been with run foe a while now and he knew how humans got tired easier then youkais. Well youkais are just better from the start there stronger, faster and they didn't need to eat or sleep alot.
He was brought back to reality when he heard Rin and Kagome laughing. He looked up at them with a confused look on his face " What is so funny?" Kagome and Rin looked at him trying not to laugh as Rin said "Uh um nothing." Sesshomaru ignored them as he went back into his thoughts I can deal with Rin traveling with me because she is young and is like a daughter to me but this miko I can't stand her but it would be good to have someone occupy Rin but I will only keep her for that and that reason only.
"Kagome?" It was the middle of the night as everyone was asleep except for Rin, Sesshomaru, and Kagome. Jaken was sleeping and snoring loudly for a toad. "Yes Rin what's wrong?" she said as she turned over so she can look at Rin "Can you um come with me so I can uh go potty?" a light pink hue went across her face. "Sure." they got up and started heading for the trees. When Rin was done and they were walking back Kagome heard something and came to a stop to look around. "Rin stay near." she said in a protective manner. Rin came running and stayed close by Kagome.
It was then that she senced a different aura she never felt before. She saw it and of course it was a youkai but a very weak one. It came charging at them and once it was about to attack them Kagome without realizing used her miko powers to hurt it badly. It started whimpering and ran off. "WOW! That was so cool Kagome something pinkish purple shot out of you and then you hurt it!" Once they made it back Rin was still going on about how awesome it was.
Sesshomaru looked up at them "what happened?" and then Rin explained everything as Kagome laid back down and tried to rest and then she was asleep. Rin slept close by her feeling safe.
Once everyone was asleep Sesshomaru crawled over to Kagome and looked at her features. Why would anyone choose a dead person over this. W-wait what am I saying I will not fall inlove with a disgusting weakling like a human and make the same mistake my father did. He turned around and went back to his tree. He leaned his head against the trunk and whispered "what's wrong with me?" Kagome woke up seconds after but pretended to be asleep. He could probably sence that she was awake but she didn't care.
"Lord Sesshomaru!"
"what do you want Jaken?"he said aggressively
"you have to come see this I'm sorry to disturb you but it's important!"
Then she heard footsteps and once she didn't hear anymore she got up off the hard cold ground below her. She blinked a few times while looking around. A small sigh escaped her lips before she layed back down next Rin.
Sesshomaru knelt down beside the dead youkai as he inspect the burn marks all over it. "Why did you show me this Jaken?" looking very angry sence this was not important until he heard the four words Jaken replied with "The miko did it." Sesshomaru looked surprised and went back to looking at the dead youkai.
"Miko were leaving." the sound of Sesshomaru's voice startled her she was surprised she fell back asleep. She then got up and nodded. "Hey Rin?" "yes Kagome?" "would you like me to carry you?" she offered Rin a smile before waiting for a reply. "Sure!" she then ran to Kagome as she was lifted in the air then had Kagome's arm wrapped around her. Rin was still smiling as thoughts came to her mind about how moms did this with their kids. " Kagome?" "yes Rin?" " you're like a mom to me." Kagome smiled and hugged Rin cause she knew that Rin didn't have parents.
Sesshomaru was shocked when he heard those words escape Rin's mouth. Especially because Sesshomaru was like Rin's father witch meant that Rin was kinda like his and Kagome's kid and they were parents. Sesshomaru stopped walking trying to take it all in he knew they weren't a couple or were parents so why did he feel this way. Kagome put Rin down and everyone was walking again. Kagome tripped on a rock and came falling forwards until something catched her and she looked into his shining amber eyes.
She began to blush. What was going on.
