The Start of Something Grand
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
A soft sigh escaped a dark haired girl with the appearance of a child, her appearance was one of a troubled person, and the strangers who passed her ignored the child like girl and hurried on their way. The girl really wasn’t a child, far from it; truthfully she was a senior in high school but overly small for her age. Doctors couldn’t find a reason for this, but she knew the cause. The years of pain and torture to her body and soul, damaged her more than doctors could comprehend.
For them to find out would be the death of her, at least that was what ‘he’ said. ‘He’ was her nightmare, the start of her living hell. The man was her step father, the man who murdered her own father and ruined her life. Of course there was no proof of the killing, but she seen it, well in her mind she seen it, which didn’t mean a thing for the case.
Shaking her head she brought herself from the dark recesses of her mind and gazed about her, she was unsure as to where she was, and only one other was around. Staring at the women for a moment longer she moved closer, hesitantly reaching out to touch the others shoulder. Startled the women, well man she found out when the stranger faced her. “Oh! I have been waiting for you child.” Clapping his hands the male sped into the building and leaving the confused girl on the street. Bewildered as to how he knew her, and how he knew she’d be coming.
Peeking into the buildings gloom she spotted the male flitting about the inside, which looked like a old book store. Gazing about the dust covered piles of leather bound paper she attempted to ignore the male as she stepped into the shop with curiosity. Before she could get far the male popped up in front of her and pressed a book to her chest. “There we are, it’s been waiting for you, but of course you’ll probably wonder why it’s blank. It’s magical my dear. Magic, magic, magic!”
Blinking at the boisterous blond haired male in confusion she backed away slightly. “I…I don’t understand, I don’t even know your name or who you are…” Gazing about in surprise she slapped a hand over her mouth in horror at speaking aloud. “I’m sorry! So, so sorry, I promise to never speak again, just don’t hurt me.” Whimpering she cowered back in fear as to what the other would do, she was never like this before till ‘he’ showed up.
Laughing softly the male grabbed a hold of the girl and pulled her to his chest. “You poor, poor child, if I knew the pain you have endured by this cruel world I would have dropped into your path sooner. That awful man has broken you beyond repair it seems…the poor Prince.” Sighing the blond haired man tugged the girl along behind him as he tapped his lower lip with his other hand.
“Though…you’d do him some good, so delicate and such a darling…” The dark haired girl stared up at him in confusion as to what he was talking about. “Wh…what do you mean?” Abruptly stopping the blond male turned to her with an odd look on his face. “The book was destined to be yours, it’s gone through many hands, but you my dear, it has waited for since it was made. You will change the course of its future. But of course, I must tell you how it works and the rules.”
Flopping down abruptly on the ground his blond hair flew up and resettled around him in a golden blanket. Patting the ground in front of him he then leaned back on his hands and stared at her as she sat down a foot or two away. “Now, to reveal the pages you must offer it blood, as in, write your name in blood a few things about yourself and whatever else. It will then reveal a story that never ends, but there’s a catch, you have the choice to change your life or to follow the path of it and lose the edge of the pain. This book will ease your pain each time you offer it blood. The other choice, like I said will forever change your life.”
Looking up at the sky the blond male hopped to his feet and brushed his pants off. “Well. That’s all for now! I must go and you must be on your way home. Oh, and if by any chance you need me my child, just call my name.” Waving at her he turned and started in the opposite direction of the store. “Wa…wait! I uh, don’t know your name.” Standing up slowly the girl bowed her head to allow her bangs to shield her eyes. “Saiyo.” With that he was gone; not the walking till you couldn’t see him but a pop and wa la, no more.
Staring at the spot he disappeared from the dark haired girl began the long trek home, already knowing what awaited her there. Her mother would gaze at her disdainfully, her step sister would get her in trouble, and her step father…she didn’t even want to think about it.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
When she got home, she ran to hide in her room; she didn’t want to know who was home or go near them. Closing her door as quietly as she could she then locked it with haste. Standing as still as a tree on a windless day she listened for sounds of being followed or anyone near her room, once assured no one was around she tossed the book onto her bed and grabbed one of her razors with a sigh.
For once she was not using them as they had been, slicing into her palm she grabbed a plastic container and watched the crimson liquid flow into the container in a lazy stream. Grabbing a feather from her drawer she placed it beside the container as she wrapped a piece of cloth around the slice. Picking up the supplies she flopped onto her bed and opened the book to the first page.
Quickly scrawling her name and basic information out on the old worn pages of the book, she removed the feather and stared thoughtfully at the pages. “What else…there’s not a thing about me that is good…” Sighing sadly she wrote down a blurb of her life’s story before closing the book and resting her head on it. “Can I believe that odd male…that this book will help end my troubles…if I wanted it to?” Staring out her window she watched the setting sun as it grasped onto trees and buildings in a futile attempt to fight the shadows.
Darkness always won; at least in her mind it was true. If it wasn’t she would not still be in this situation…but if that males words were true maybe light would be winning for once? A loud bang echoed through her mind as she was pulled from her thoughts. Releasing a terrified whimper as a loud bellow filtered through the wood to her ears.
“You rotten bitch let me in! You’ll regret locking me out!” A group of resounding bangs followed his statements before silence. Edging to the corner of her bed by the wall, she kept her frightened eyes on the door as the shadows deepened around her. Relaxing slightly she slouched against the wall and closed her eyes, but her peace was destroyed as her door was broken to pieces as her step father walked in carrying a large heavy looking object.
Shivering in fear she curled closer to the wall, hoping he would go away even though she knew the pain would come first. Stomping over to her the dark male gave her a wicked grin as he crawled onto her bed. A waft of alcohol slid over to her and tickled her nose. “Dad…dy please no…” Sobbing softly she curled more into the wall as he grabbed her arms and pulled her to him and pressed his lips to her own.
Squealing in terror she attempted to pull away but he refused, he pulled her arms behind her back and held them with one hand and pressed against her head with a free hand. This caused a distressed sound to become trapped in her throat as he slid his disgusting hands down her back and up her shirt. The feel of his skin against her own caused her to feel ill, a feeling which was common.
It saved her from being raped, since he became disgusted by her being sick. Her stomach heaved as a hand grabbed one of her tits and squeezed roughly as his tongue slid into her mouth. Feeling her stomach roll she tore her mouth away from him with effort and leaned over the side to lose the contents of her stomach which was not much.
Scowling at her he smacked her across the face causing her to fall into her own fluids. Sneering down at her he stomped down on her stomach before kicking her in the side and leaving her to suffer from the pain and humiliation. Sobbing quietly she slowly pushed herself up through the pain and moving towards the bathroom to clean herself up.
After reaching the bathroom she slowly wiped off her own vomit and blood from her body. Sighing she pushed through the pain and sat next to the book upon the bed and flipped it open, expecting nothing but the blank pages but was surprised. Instead of a books usual form, there were moving pictures depicting the story. Upon the first page was a gorgeous male, one she expected never to see in her short life.
He was something that gave her hope, was her light in her darkness. She stared at the book as the silver haired male stalked the halls of what seemed to be his home in anger, even in this mood he was the most beautiful thing she had ever laid eyes on. Smiling slightly she laid upon her stomach gingerly and watched the picture till she fell asleep using the book as a pillow, and missing the quiet name that escaped the silver haired males lips, the only sound ever made from the book in all its history. “Kagome….”
