AN:You get to find out a little more about Inuyasha
Chapter 2 Singing in the rain
It didn't take Kagome long to find Sango and the rest of them, they were around the edge of the dance floor dancing up a storm, well everyone except for Sesshomaru, she would have thought he was a statue if she didn't see him blinking. 'Why come, if you aren't going to have fun...?'
"Hey Kagome didn't you go off with Inuyasha earlier, where is he?" Sango gave Kagome a puzzled look. It took only a second of hesitation before a lie spilled from her lips," Oh he went outside to talk with someone. He told me to just hang with you guys for a little bit."
Sango nodded, happy to accept that answer and began to say something but Kagome zoned out by then,'Why did I lie, I could have just told Sango the truth....' Zoning back in Kagome arched an eyebrow when she saw that Sango had stopped speaking.
" Sango, are you al-" Taking a step forward Kagome was abruptly pulled back into a hard yet familiar chest, an arm wrapped tightly around her stomach. Feeling the rumble upon her back, Kagome looked up to Inuyasha to see that he was laughing. "When the eye starts twitchin its best to start skippin..."
Kagome leaned to her left and glanced up at Inuyasha fully," Wha-"
"You pervert!" Sango's right eye began to twitch in anger. Sango turned around her hand out and palm opened, taking a swing at Miroku. There was a sound of skin slapping skin, the noise echoed even over the music, his head forced to the side upon impact. In spite of that, Miroku didn't seemed fazed. In fact when he turned around all he did was smile and rub his beet red cheek. "You have an ass like heaven Sango."
Sango's eye behind to twitch again, though before she could murder the poor fool, Inuyasha spoke up," Hey, Kagome and I have to head on back, our curfew is in about hour and half, so we are gong to split."
Kagome reached into her pocket to pull out her phone, clicking the button on the side she gasped when she saw it was already 11:24 p.m.
"Time sure does fly doesn't it" Sango smiled kindly at Kagome, before pulling the girl into a hug," It was nice meeting you Kagome, we should really hang out sometime." Sango pulled away from the girl, her hands resting on her shoulders lightly. Kagome nodded her head, a similar smile on her own face,"God yes, let me get your number, I have to take care of a few things tomorrow, but how about sunday we can meet for lunch?"
Sango grabbed Kagome's phone and entered her number quickly. Once the number was entered Sango called her own phone, so she could later get it out and save Kagome's number. "That sounds great, I don't work on Sunday's so I wouldn't mind that. Give me a call later on so we can work out the details, okay," Handing the phone back to Kagome, Sango pulled the girl into a tight hug once again," Don't forget to call chickadee!
Winking at the girl Kagome backed away, Giving everyone else a wave," It was nice to meet you guys." Turning to Inuyasha she nodded her head, saying she was ready to leave. Watching he she saw him throw a wave to his friends shouting out that he would give Miroku a call later.
Breaking out into the smoggy city air, Kagome watched as Inuyasha raised his arms up in a big stretch his clothes ridding up a bit on his stomach. "Oh man the night is still young, so what do you want to do?"
Kagome blinked at Inuyasha in confusion," Aren't we heading back it took me an hour just to get here on the bus."
"Thats by bus sweetheart, I on the other hand have a motorcycle, it cuts the time in half." Inuyasha looked both ways before he crossed the intersection, expecting her to follow him. Which she did.
"Wait so why did we leave, we could stay a bit longer if thats the case." Kagome had to take a few extra steps to keep up with Inuyasha's quicken pace.
"We need to make a stop at my place first, your money is there." Taking a left down a narrow street Inuyasha continued walking his pace only it increased even more.
Stopping suddenly he walks down a very narrow walk way, only big enough for one person to walk down it at a time. Frowning Kagome turned her body to the side to slip through the walkway easier. "What the hell Takahashi!"
Inuyasha ignored her and made a right in the walk way finally breaking off into another alleyway. Reaching into his pocket he pulls out his keys as he approached a white Kawasaki Ninja, Kagome couldn't tell what type of model it was but she could see that it would be fast, like its reasons for being built was for speed and only speed.
Inuyasha grabbed at the white helmet that was hanging on the side of the handle bars, he pulled it until he saw the long chain locking he helmet to his bike. Finding the right key he unlocked the chain. Dragging it off the bike he held the helmet out to her, "Here wouldn't want you to hurt that pretty little head of yours."
Kagome narrowed her eyes at him and yanked the helmet away from him, while mumbling the words 'Asshole'. Inuyasha once again ignored her comment as he went about getting his bike ready.
Looking to the helmet Kagome was about to slip it over her head when she remembered her side ponytail, 'Hm I should probably take it down, it might be easier.'
Putting her arm through the head opening then the face opening of the helmet kagome bent over and started to work at her hair tie with both hands. Unwrapping the tie a few times it finally came loose. Pulling it from her hair Kagome straightened up, while shaking her head, letting her hair fall wildly around her face.
Through this process apparently her eyes had closed, opening her eyes Kagome looked over to Inuyasha, but quickly looked away when she saw him just staring at her.
He sat straddling his bike, his arms resting against the handle bars as he leaned forward. His usual golden eyes darkened with a feeling she couldn't quite place. Before she could stop herself Kagome blurted it out, "There's drool on your chin Takahashi.."
Kagome slips the helmet over her head, glad that its hiding her face from view, hiding the ridiculous blush that was dusted over her cheeks. 'Did I really just say that?'
Inuyasha made the motion of wiping the imaginary drool from his chin and flicked it in her direction when she came closer to him. Even though her face was covered mostly by the large helmet, Inuyasha knew she was making a face at his actions.
Starting up the bike Inuyasha sat up and waited for her to get secure upon the vehicle. "I suggest you hold on princess, road burn is a really nasty scar."
Kagome rested her hands on his shoulder lightly, and waited for him to pull off. Inuyasha looked over his shoulder, giving her a look that screamed, 'Seriously?'
Shaking his head Inuyasha gave a test lurch with his bike, Kagome's body first flew back then when he stop the bikes movements she was shoved forward. Her body flush against his back and her hands wrapped tightly around his waist. "Now thats better."
Kagome couldn't even yelp when Inuyasha pulled that little stunt, 'That piss ant jerk, he did that on purpose!' Raising her hand Kagome was just about to slap it on his arm when his bike rushed forward again, but this time he didn't stop. The arm that was reared back was now around his waist, clinging to his body.
Kagome could tell by the way his body and stomach were shaking, that Inuyasha was laughing at her, and he was laughing hard. So hard in fact he took the turn coming out of the alleyway very wide. So wide that he almost hit a red semi truck that was coming up fast behind them.
"Inuyasha if you kill me I swear I will come back and haunt you!"
"If I had a ghost like you haunting me then I wouldn't mind it one bit!"
Inuyasha threw his head back letting out another laugh, swerving once again into another lane, making a few cars honk their horns. Kagome just let out another squeal, only increasing Inuyasha's laughter.
"I fucking love this city!"
----------------
Inuyasha pulled down this long dirt driveway, lights were placed along sides of the road, peaking over his shoulder Kagome saw that the dirt road was leading up to one of the many mansions she saw in magazines. From what she could see it was about 5 stories high. The outside looked to be made out of thick white stone.
Inuyasha slowed to a crawl, his bike coming up to the black iron gates. Stopping his bike he comes to a dead stop and leans over towards what looks like a key pad.
He entered a few numbers and sat back waiting, a loud buzz pierced the air a few seconds later, followed by a soft feminine voice that came through the speakers.
"Good evening Tanaka, if you will place enter the password you may proceed forward," With a grunt Inuyasha punched the password in. After a few more seconds the gates began to open, drawing back from the middle.
Kagome frowned, 'Tanaka, isn't his last name Takahashi?' When the bike punched forward Kagome pushed it to the back of her mind,'I'll just ask him later.'
--------------------------
Inuyasha unlocked his front door and pointed to another door across the entryway. "Head over there, I need to get a few things first, the light is on the right side, and just head on down the stairs and make yourself at home."
Inuyasha disappeared in the dark as he walked off somewhere. Following his direction Kagome gets to the door and opens it, looking down she see that it leads down a dark stairwell. Feeling along the wall she searches for the switch Inuyasha pointed out, finding it she flicks it on and carefully walks down the stairs.
Landing on the bottom step, Kagome takes in her surroundings. Off to her left there seems to be a small bar area complete with a mini fridge and a kitchen sink, and over to her right there was a wide screen television mounted on the wall, twin tall dvd cases stood along side the television. A black leather couch sat in front of it.
Taking another step Kagome grimaced when her foot stepped on something. Soon both the stereo and the television turned on. Looking down Kagome saw a small silver remote stuck under her foot. Moving it she bent down to pick it up. Studying the remote she clicked the power button turning off both the television and the stereo system.
Placing the remote on the back of the couch, Kagome let her finger drag lightly along the couch, while she looked around the room a bit more, eyeing the few posters that were taped up.
Kagome turned around when she heard a noise behind her. Coming down the stairs was none other than Inuyasha, he was holding two open bottles of water. "Here I was a bit thirst and I thought you would like some."
She took the bottle from his hand thanking him. Taking a few sips Kagome focused back on to him, "So where is the money?"
Inuyasha took a big gulp of the water before setting it down on the bar counter top," Wow you don't waist time do you..." he gave her a playfully wink.
Kagome only rolled her eyes choosing to ignore his wink," I just want to get the money and head on home...."
Kagome leaned against the couch slightly, her vision for some reason had began to blur. 'What was that?' Shaking her head she watch as Inuyasha leaned closer to her a look of concern on his face," Hey babes you alright?" He reached out to her only to have her slap his hand away.
Kagome narrowed her eyes at him, and pushed his hand away," Im fine, I guess I am not use to riding on a motorcycle yet, and stop calling me babes!"
Her vision began to blur again, and her legs became weak, the bottle of water she was holding began slipping from her grip, but Inuyasha had caught it before it could hit the floor. Leaning most of her weight onto the couch, Kagome looked up to Inuyasha's face, but she couldn't even make out his features, she could only see the gold of his eyes and the white of his hair, nothing else. 'What is wrong with me?!'
"Inuyasha, I don't feel so....go..od.." Kagome's eyes rolled into the back of her head, the last thing she saw was Inuyasha's black reeboks.
Before her body could fully shut down on her Kagome turned onto her back, with her vision gone she blindly reached out, only to have her hand be caught in Inuyasha's. "Shh... 'its just an insurance policy it will be over soon...I promise..."
'Insura-nce p-policy?...' Her world went black.
------------
Inuyasha stood up over Kagome's limp body, taking another swig of his water. Reaching out he grabbed the remote sitting on the couch, and turned on the stereo, a song came blasting through his speakers, its up beat happy melody made Inuyasha smile.
"Oh this song is perfect, don't you agree Kagome?" he chuckled lazily and looked down at the girl laying on his floor. Tossing the remote back to the couch, Inuyasha chugged the rest of his water and put the bottle on the bar, along with hers.
Clasping his hands together Inuyasha bent down and picked up the girl without a problem. Walking down the hallway, Inuyasha kicked open the door to his bedroom and tossed Kagome down onto his bed.
Her body land roughly on his sheets, bouncing from the momentum. There were speakers installed in his bedroom so the music was still just as clear. Shrugging off his jacket, Inuyasha tossed it lazily over onto his desk, singing along with the music," Singing in the rain...just singing in the rain..".
Flicking the light switch on, Inuyasha's bedroom was illuminated, his pupils shrinking in slight discomfort. After his vision cleared up, he made his way over to the big empty tank that sat next to his bed. The Tank was home to his python 'Ludwig'. "What a glorious feeling....evening my dear friend, are you hungry?"
As if the snake could understand him, in slowly slid closer to Inuyasha, the man smiled kindly at his pet. Reaching for the cabinet under the tank, Inuyasha pulled out a smaller cage full of mice, popping open the top, he pulled out the one he could reach. Ignoring the way its tiny nails scratch at his skin, and the hard yet shallow bites it was delivering to his fingers.
Putting the cage back in place, Inuyasha took the books off the top of Ludwig's tank, and pushed the top aside, dropping the mouse in. Closing the top, Inuyasha put the books back on top of it and placed his hand onto the glass. It didn't take long for the snake to strike, its body was curling around tightly, ensnarling its prey.
Golden gaze slide from his pet, to his own prey laying on his bed. Her dark hair fanning around her head. "My turn..."
Turning away from Kagome, Inuyasha walked over to his desk, picked up the video camera sitting there and flicked it on, the song had started to fade," Just singin'...singing in the rain..."
Turing back to Kagome, Inuyasha pressed record, fangs peaking over his lower lip in a sinister grin. "Baby..I'm going to make you a star..."
-----------------------------------
Kagome's senses came back in intervals, first her hearing. From what she could tell, she was listening to some very frantic music, it sounded a bit like rap, but that was all she could tell. Next came her eye sight, even though her vision was blurry she could make out a body sitting across from her. Its mop of silver on its head, helped her determine who it was. 'It must be Inuyasha...what happened to me.'
Her ability to speak, came later, swallowing thickly Kagome tried to speak, but her throat was so parched, her tongue felt swollen in her mouth," Wa...ter"
Inuyasha seemed to have heard her because a glass was placed to her lips a few seconds later, cool liquid rolled down her throat soothing it. The water looked to have been what see needed because her vision cleared quickly, and her muscles started to respond again. "Ugh..I feel like I've been hit by a train. "
A deep chuckle came from him," You did hit the ground hard, who knew, how are you feeling, you were talking one minute and the next you were on the floor." the playful tone in his voice could still be detected but not as strongly as the obvious concern. This for some odd reason warmed Kagome's heart, yet at the same time disgusted her. ' What am I doing...this is takahashi we are talking about here, he uses females, is never seen in class, hangs out with some of the most dangerous people at school, plus he is a cocky bastard.'
Kagome pushed up into a sitting position and looked around her, noticing that she was on the couch in the living room still. "What time is it?"
"Little after 12, if you want to get back on time, we need to go now, can you walk?"
Kagome stood up from the couch on shaky legs, though she held her own,"Im fine," Kagome frowned suddenly remember way they even made the trip to his house. As if reading her mind Inuyasha threw a few bills onto the table." There's about 6 big ones there, you did good tonight, so I decided to be generous."
Kagome shyly reached down to the money, mentally counting it herself, before shoving it into her pockets. There was a movement to her left and Kagome saw Inuyasha stand up, and start turning off everything in the living room. "Go on upstairs and outside, wait for me by the bike."
Wanting to get home as soon as possible, Kagome quickly made her way up the stairs, because her back was turned Kagome missed the heated look Inuyasha gave to her retreating back, and the words that passed through his lips," I'm happy...again."
------
Kagome didn't have to wait long before Inuyasha came out of the door. Getting settled on the back, Inuyasha drove over to the gate, it immediately opening. 'Wait a minute...Takahashi..it called him something else before...Naka or something like that, maybe its just his middle name...I'll ask him later.'
Even with his senses dulled Inuyasha could smell the confusion coming off of Kagome's body in waves, his jaw clinching tightly, to stop the smirk that came to his lips. 'You will find out in time Kagome...'
