Chapter 3

Thanks for waiting

Chapter 3

The figure pulled out something long and shiny, but right before he could do anything Sesshomaru had barged through the door and grabbed the person. It startled Souta and woke him up, he saw Sesshomaru struggling with someone.

Souta lit a candle up quickly and saw a demon now lying on the ground in excruciating pain. “Hiru” Sesshomaru called out for his general within seconds Hiru ran in “take Souta to my chambers immediately” Sesshomaru ordered.

Hiru bowed and grabbed Souta taking him out of room were it was a lot safer. Sesshomaru looked down at the demon on the ground “tell me who you are and I might spare your pathetic life”.

The demon looked up he smiled and then quickly grabbed the knife next to him and cut his neck. Sesshomaru watched as the demon bled to death “so foolish” he ordered someone to clean up the mess and through the body away.

Souta was sitting on the bed inside Sesshomaru’s bedroom it was a lot bigger than his own. Hiru was outside the bedroom door waiting for his master to come and would probably have a big go at him for not watching over Souta like he was suppose to.

Sesshomaru came walking down the hall way, he just passed Hiru and was about to open the door. “My lord aren’t you going to punish me for I had disobeyed a direct order and nearly got the boy killed”.

Sesshomaru just stood their it was true that Hiru had done wrong but it was not the time to give him a full punishment. “We will deal with this issue tomorrow Hiru you may go” and with that said Sesshomaru entered his room.

Two candles were lit giving the room the only light for Sesshomaru to see even though he could even see without them. He looked over to his bed and saw the boy had collapsed and fallen asleep.

It seemed that Souta was still tiered even after nearly being attacked, Sesshomaru picked the boy up and laid Souta down properly. He placed the covers over him, Sesshomaru wasn’t sure how that demon got into his castle and why he was their to assassinate his young guest.

Something was defiantly wrong and Sesshomaru now knew that keeping Souta here might not have been such a great idea after all.

By morning Souta woke up in a different room and a much larger bed he then remembered what happened that night. He hadn’t thanked Sesshomaru for saving his life once again.

Maybe it was time to ask Sesshomaru if he could help him to get back even though he wished he could stay for a little longer. Some might not have noticed but Souta actually liked the company of Sesshomaru.

It was a shame this was happening to him it was kind of ruining his time here. This would probably be the only time Souta would ever be able to come back here and he would never see Sesshomaru again.

Without even noticing a single tear had fallen, Sesshomaru walked in and saw the boy crying. Before the demon could say anything Souta had run up to him and wrapped his small arms around Sesshomaru’s waist.

Now the tears were really falling Sesshomaru wasn’t really sure what to do, Rin had cried many times as well but this was a completely different situation since he hadn’t known the boy that long.

So Sesshomaru had to say something otherwise the child would never let go “what’s wrong”. Souta let go of Sesshomaru and wiped his face with his sleeve “I I’m sorry for all the trouble I’ve caused” that wasn’t the only thing why Souta was crying.

It was sort of hard to tell Sesshomaru the real reason which was he didn’t want to go back so soon. Souta wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the one who had saved his life numerous of times and has been very kind to him.

Sesshomaru had a slight feeling that wasn’t the only thing Souta was crying about their was something else on the boy’s mind.

“You don’t have to apologise Souta it is not your fault”, “but it is the moment we met I have caused nothing but trouble, you have save me so many times and there is nothing I can even repay you with”.

“You don’t need to repay me with anything” Sesshomaru was about to walk away and leave it as that but Souta didn’t want him to. “I I WANT TO STAY WITH YOU I don’t want to leave just yet”.

Souta was looking down at the ground “you have been so nice to me that I would like to stay but because of all that has been happening I know I can’t but I am just not ready to say goodbye yet”.

Sesshomaru turned around the demon sighed ‘what is it with humans’ he thought to himself. Sesshomaru walked up to Souta and placed his hand on the child’s head which surprised Souta.

The boy looked up at the demon “though you want to stay I cannot protect you all the time I have my duties, it is better for you to go back to your own time were you will be safe and besides this isn’t a place were you should be, you don’t belong here”.

Those last four words hit Souta like a tone of bricks, without even thinking Souta slapped Sesshomaru’s hand away and ran out the door. Sesshomaru knew those last few words were quite harsh and didn’t blame the boy for getting angry.

It was the only way for Sesshomaru to not allow Souta to get too attached to him that would really cause problems. Besides he has already allowed one human to live with him and that is enough.

Since Souta came from a different time it was true that this time was not the world for him to stay in. One of the reasons why Sesshomaru had left the castle for a few days was to find away for Souta to get back.

Sesshomaru had found away and that was the stone he had found which was an ancient tressure. Their were many difficult and dangerous obstacles standing in his way to obtain the stone but Sesshomaru had managed to get it.

Sesshomaru decided that tomorrow was the day to take Souta back to the well and use the stone to get him back.

He had told Hiru everything the next day and Souta had obeyed what Sesshomaru told him. They were going back to the well, it was only Sesshomaru and Souta who headed back.

The trip was quiet neither one of them said a single word to one another since Souta was still angry at Sesshomaru.

After days of travelling they finally reached the well “this stone will allow you to get back”. It seemed that Souta had to actually take it with him, he looked up at Sesshomaru and decided to say something.

He couldn’t leave being angry at Sesshomaru since the demon was actually thinking of his safety and going back was the only way. Souta now realised how selfish he had been “thankyou so much Sesshomaru I will never forget this and you as well”.

Souta hugged Sesshomaru one last time before waving and falling back down the well. This time he didn’t feel a painful landing but found himself back in his own time since Souta couldn’t see the sky.

Their was a ladder in the well and it was true Souta had returned back to his own time. He climbed the ladder and headed back inside the house were his mother was sitting in the lounge fast asleep.

By the look on her face it seemed that she had been crying “mum I’m home”, his mother woke up and the moment she saw Souta standing their he was pulled into a tight hug. Souta told her everything about falling down the well and being sent to the past and meeting Sesshomaru.

Souta’s mother was just so happy to see her son back nice and safe “now that your back what if I make you something to eat”. Souta thought that was a great idea he was famished.

Souta headed up stairs to take a shower and get all nice and cleaned up, he undressed when something fell out of his pocket. It was the stone Sesshomaru had given him, he had picked it up and just admired its beauty.

Souta was about to grab his necklace but it wasn’t around his neck “what were is it”. He checked all his clothes and it wasn’t their the only place were it could be was back at Sesshomaru’s castle.

*************************************************

Six years later

A sixteen year old Souta was walking down the city streets with his friends from high school. “So were should we go today” Hikaru asked “well I really want to go to that jewel shop on Leonard St” Michelle said.

So they decided to go their since the group was close to that street, when they arrived Souta couldn’t believe how huge the shop was. He had just thought it would have been a small place like many other jewel shops but this one was a lot bigger.

Their were cabinets full of necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings even tiaras of the finest quality. Michelle happened to be from a wealthy family and was looking for a bracelet for her mum’s birthday.

Hikaru went and looked around with Michelle why Souta had a look around by himself. He wasn’t planning on buying anything, Souta past a cabinet with all different kinds of necklaces in it.

When one necklace really caught his attention, it was a gold chain with a blue pendant stone on it. Suddenly that stone looked exactly like the one he use to own which Kagome gave him.

How did his necklace get here, he had left it back in the past and now its here in the present. “Something you like” a lady had come up to him “yes um this necklace who made it”.

“Well I am not sure who made it but I know who had brought it here” she said “you do could you please tell me”. Souta really wanted to know how his necklace got here “why the owner of this jewel shop of course but he had only given it to us to put on display it is not for sale which is unfortunate since so many customers loved it and wished to pay anything for it” the lady told him.

“Can I ask you who the owner of this shop is”, “you don’t know now that’s a surprise since he is very famous of course anyone would be if they owned practically nearly every jewel shop in the entire country”.

The lady then grabbed a card from the counter and handed it over to Souta “this is his name now if you please excuse me I have other customers to serve. Once she walked of Souta had a look at the name of the card and the moment he saw it Souta dropped the card and ran out the shop.

Well that ones done, I wonder whose name was on the card you will just have to wait and see…
